Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right

Chapter 689

"Where's the surveillance footage?"

"There aren't any. That area was a blind spot, not caught on camera."

"Is she one of your fans?"

"I always keep my schedule private. Only a handful of people know where I'll be. I've never seen her before."

Debra realized what was going on. Someone had set up Michael on purpose.

Her mind raced, piecing together the timeline. When Michael was framed, Juan was still on the island, which meant he must have arranged things ahead of time. This so-called victim was likely someone from the Nichols Group, and the one behind it was probably Joe. "So, they've been holding you this whole time?"

"Yes. I believe someone put in a word with the authorities. But I can't figure out who. In this city, no one usually dares to go up against the McKinney Group."

"It's Juan."

Michael was surprised, and Debra added, "It has to be connected to the Nichols Group."

"Was he also behind the accident on the island?"

"No, that wasn't him. I'm sorry for putting you into this. Don't worry. I'll get you out tonight, no matter what. A lot has happened lately. Ben will fill you in on the details."

"I'm relieved that you're fine."

Debra looked at him and laughed.

Michael was always so meticulous and clean, yet after being locked up for days, his white shirt was dirty, his hair messy, and stubble lined his jaw. If anyone saw him now, they'd never believe he was an international superstar everyone adored. Time seemed to stretch out. Finally, the officer knocked on the door.

"Ms. Frazier, the victim has been brought next door. You can question her now."

"Alright."

Debra stood up, giving Michael a reassuring look before heading to the next room.

As she stepped inside, she found herself face to face with a young woman in her twenties. The woman had an unremarkable appearance her long hair hastily tied up. She was wearing nothing but pajamas with a coat thrown over them.

The officer closed the door.

The woman looked Debra up and down before sneering, "Well, well. Who would've thought the famous Ms. Frazier wanted to see me in the middle of the night? What do you want?"

Debra countered, "I haven't introduced myself yet. How did you know who I was? We've never met, have we?"

A flicker of panic flashed across the

woman's face, but she quickly recovered. "Who doesn't know you You and Juan were all over the TV after that reality show. It's not surprising that I'd recognize you."

What she said seemed reasonable, but Debra didn't miss the nervous shift in her eyes.

Debra snorted, "You know, that show didn't have any leaks or paparazzi shots. And yet, here you are, claiming you know me."

The woman avoided her gaze, and Debra pressed.

"Do you follow reality shows?"

"No."

Debra rested her chin on her hand

and said, "That's quite strange. I don't usually post my photos on social media. I've appeared in financial news a few times, but how did you figure out who I am? Do you foffow financial news?"

The woman retorted, "So what if I do? If you have questions, go ask them. I need to go back to sleep."Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
