Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 773

He picked up the document and flipped through it quickly. As he grasped the contents, his face changed dramatically. It was a confidentiality agreement.

"Mr. Tanner, re-evaluating the scores won't do you any good. We don't want to create a scandal and tarnish the honor of the medical community. If you just sign this agreement and acknowledge Flora's scores to all the teams-" Abbey paused, a sly smile spreading across her face, "Every year, I will send two instructors from the Lone Island Medical Base to Austenberg to give lectures. Moreover, if there are students who perform well, I will consider them for entry into our medical base."

Everyone understood the message immediately. Abbey was trying to buy their silence, offering them benefits to drop the re-evaluation of the scores.

Mr. Tanner's face darkened. Selene's eyes burned with anger, finding Abbey's actions utterly despicable. Who would want her so-called benefits?

However, some of the other competitors seemed tempted. Even if Flora's scores were re-evaluated, they probably wouldn't be much higher. Even if they made it to the next round, there were still the finals to consider. Could they guarantee they would make it to the finals and secure a place? It seemed better to take the deal now.

Abbey stopped speaking, giving them time to mull it over. But she was confident. People are selfish. With such a huge benefit in front of them, everyone knew what choice to make.

She casually glanced at Flora, brimming with pride. In fact, she had many ways to silence the Austenberg team, but she deliberately chose this one. She wanted Flora to see clearly that, in the face of personal gain, her teammates would abandon her without exception. "Mr. Tanner, maybe we should just listen to Ms. Abbey," Debra said, biting her lip, unable to hold back any longer. She thought there was no reason to hesitate. She was even worried that if Mr. Tanner took too long, Abbey might change her mind. Once she spoke up, several others echoed, "Yeah, Mr. Tanner, I actually think Ms. Abbey's proposal is pretty good."

"Let's not re-evaluate the scores anymore..."

Joy chimed in, "Master, I also think..."

"Shut up!" Mr. Tanner could no longer contain his anger, growling lowly. What did they take him for? Agreeing to Abbey's proposal was out of the question!

He had heard of a saying back

home, where one person's issue could affect the whole dormitory's chances of research positions.. Wasn't this situation similar? Sacrificing Flora for the benefit of

everyone else!

It was bad enough that Abbey suggested it, but Debra, one of their own and Flora's teammate, also chose to sacrifice Flora!

"Ms. Abbey, we just want to verify exactly what score Flora achieved." Mr. Tanner placed the document back on the table, pushing it towards Abbey. Hearing this, Abbey's expression slightly darkened. She had made her point clear, yet he still chose to protect Flora?

Mr. Tanner forced a smile, "Ms. Abbey, I don't understand. I just want to recheck the scores. Why are you going to such lengths to buy me off?"

The more Abbey did this, the more it

proved there was a problem with Flora's score. He had to find out the truth. Even if it turned out Flora's score was low, or even if she didn't pass the preliminary round, he would accept it. What he defended was the dignity of Austenberg. If they could change the Austenberg team's score once, they could do it multiple times. He had to nip this in the bud.

Abbey stared at Mr. Tanner for a few seconds, her smile turning sinister, "Re-evaluating the scores is not impossible, but Mr. Tanner, you need to be sure you can handle the consequences." en FindNovel

Mr. Tanner frowned, puzzled by Abbey's words. What did she mean by handling the consequences?

"If in the end, it turns out there's no issue with the scores, then the Austenberg team will have to withdraw from this competition, and furthermore-"
