Chapter 162 The So–called Throwing Herself into His Arms

The plane took off and landed at the international airport. It was early in the morning when they got off the plane. When they came out of the VIP passage, a black minivan was parked on the side of the road.

The assistant opened the car door for him. Huston and Kevin got into the car; their faces full of fatigue from the long journey.

The journey was silent. The car made a few turns and finally drove into a small town in the suburbs. The air here was very good and was not as cold as that in the country. It was suitable for recuperation and vacation. This was also the reason why Huston had chosen this place as the treatment center at that time.

Forty minutes later, the car arrived at the sanatorium. Doctor George and his assistant were already standing outside the door to welcome them.

“Welcome, Mr. Lloyd.” George greeted him. The fifty–year–old British man was still tall and strong.

Huston held the hand that had created countless medical miracles. “Hello, George.” Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.

“I haven’t seen you for half a year, and you look even stronger.”

George palled Huston’s shoulder jokingly. He then turned to look at Kevin and said, “And you, my old rival, Kevin.”

Both of them were engaged in medical work. To some extent, they were indeed rivals.

This caused Kevin to smile. “We meet again.”

When they entered the sanatorium, Mia was still in the quarantine ward. George had carefully prepared the isolation suit, leaving Huston alone to talk. Then, he called for Kevin to go. to the office.

Standing at the door of the ward, Huston’s mood was

unprecedentedly grave. Other than her terrible condition, there seemed to be something else that Huston did not want to face.

After a moment of silence, Huston raised his hand and knocked on the door. After getting permission, he pushed the door open and entered.

The room was not brighter than the outside. The thick curtains. were drawn, and there was only a white light on the roof, which was specially made for her illness. Her body could not be exposed. Otherwise, it would fester.

Huston turned around and closed the door. Before she could turn around, a soft waist rushed into her arms. “Huston, I missed you so much.”

The woman’s short hair swept across his arm, and Huston’s body stiffened for a moment. When he came to his senses, he

gently hugged her back. “How are you feeling?”

Hearing his question, Mia took a step back and raised her head from his arms. Her palm–sized face was pale, and her eyes were big but not very energetic. She had a good foundation, but she had lost her original luster because of the illness. “Doctor George said it was not bad, but she was accidentally stabbed by the sun this morning and felt a little uncomfortable.”

“Why are you so careless?”

Mia bit her lip and didn’t dare to tell him that she deliberately hurt herself so that she could see him. She looked at the face in front of her in a daze. She hadn’t seen him for half a year, and Huston had become more mature. His every move was full of masculinity.

Sensing that Mia was looking at him, Huston pushed her shoulder back and kept his distance from her. “Mia?”

Only then did Mia come to her senses. “I accidentally closed the curtains.”

When Huston saw the new fester on her arm, his heart softened. “I’ll ask Doctor George to give you a comprehensive examination later. Only then can I rest assured?”

Mia knew that he had come here because of her illness, but when she heard what he said, she was moved and disappointed. For so many years, she had heard him talk about her illness most of the time. There seemed to be no other topic between them.

Back then, she had studied medicine for a Ph.D. degree, but God had made a big joke about her, which made her suffer from a rare blood disease in the world. She had been sent to another country for treatment. For five years, she had changed from a medical goddess to a withered patient.

He used to be a poor boy with nothing, but now he had reached the peak of glory and success. He was so excellent and respected that even the lawyer community in Aronland treated him as an example to learn from. Mia was happy and proud of him, but she also felt a little uneasy.

In the face of such a gap, she became self–abased and had no confidence. She didn’t want them to meet and only talk about illness, but she couldn’t change anything.

She had lost the chance to interact with the outside world and her life. Other than that, she had nothing else to talk about.

Mia quietly clenched her fists and didn’t say anything in the end. “Okay, I’ll go.”
