Demelza’s hand began to tremble from what she read. Everything she read felt disturbing but the fact that he used her greatest desire against her made it more scary. She fell to the chair and didn’t realize when she audibly started sobbing.

Nathan was seated in his office trying to check his schedule for the day at the same time wondering why Demelza had not checked in for the day. He sent the driver early which puzzled him. He picked up his phone to give her a call when he heard what seemed like the sobs of a woman. His eyebrows furrowed as he tried to make out where the sob was coming from.

Listening carefully, he realized it came from Demelza’s office space. ‘Is she in?’ he asked himself almost inaudibly.

He picked his ears and he could hear her sobs clearly and they were nonstop. It was till the start of a new day which got him wondering what could possibly make her cry. He stood up with concern and made his way to her desk to know why she was in tears.

Immediately he got there, he saw her head bent downwards on her desk with a card in her left hand. It got him worried and he decided to know its content. I collected the card from her the instant he reached her desk which made her raise her head up to see who it was.

She remained seated upon seeing that it was Nathan who had collected the card. As Nathan read the note on the card, he became really furious to see how mean and crazy Hampton was. He knew Hampton to be a lot but this felt so creepy.

After reading, reached for Demelza’s hand to comfort her but he was interrupted by a light knock behind him. He turned to see who it was and his eyes met Ryan.

“Good morning sir.” Ryan greeted Nathan.

“Nothing good about the morning, why are you here?” He asked Ryan impatiently.

“Mr Hampton is in your office. He has been demanding to see you.” Ryan reported.

“Really, I’ll be with him shortly.” Nathan said to Ryan.

Nathan could feel his blood boil with anger of Hampton coming to his office after this stunt he pulled.

“Stay here, I’ll be back.” He said to Demelza and went to his office.

“You got some nerve really.” Nathan said to Hampton as he walked into his office.

“Can a man not check up on his best friend anymore?” Hampton asked Nathan sarcastically.

“Get off my chair.” Nathan told him feeling annoyed with Hampton seated in his chair.

“Chill, I’m not here to fight but to collect what is mine.” Hampton teased.

“What is yours? Is she a thing? She is a human with rights to whoever she chose to be with. By the way, this isn’t some fight about her choosing. You need to remember you are married and you can’t keep obsessing and threatening your ex-girlfriend who is my employee.” Nathan warned.

“Employee? Nahhh. Your bed warmer, your little slut but I do not appreciate people playing with my toys. Immediately her back.” Hampton said to Nathan with a serious face.

“Get out!” Nathan exclaimed, punching the wall.

He tried to avoid getting into a fist fight with Hampton even though he was at the verge of totally losing it.

“Woah woah woah ” Hampton joked standing up from the chair because he least expected such a reaction from Nathan.

“Out of the building, all of you.” Ethan instructed which got the employees scampering out of the building. In a situation this heated, none of them wanted to be scapegoats.

Ryan hurriedly called the security to separate both men to avoid bloodshed. They rushed to the office and separated the fight between the men and held them apart.

“Get him out and he should never be allowed in here.” Nathan instructed guards with his bleeding mouth.

“Yes sir.” They responded by bundling Hampton out.

To Hampton, what Nathan did was the worst of it all so he vowed to get back at him.

Immediately he got into his car, he picked up his phone and texted Nathan.

Demelza rushed to the fridge and picked a bag of ice to help with Nathan’s bruises. While she was doing that, Nathan’s phone chimes which made him brush Demelza’s hand off his face to pick up his phone.

He hussedwhen he saw that it was a text from Hampton and hissedbitbje opened the text to read it regardless. ‘I know how to treat backstabbers like you. I will sell my shares to your competitor. Then let’s see how well you do working with someone you hate.’

“Fool..” Nathan stressed after reading it.

Demelza being uncomfortable with the way his expression change asked him what the problem was which made him give her his phone to read the the text.

After reading it, she gave the phone back to Nathan and continued massaging his swollen face with the ice bag.

“You are coming home with me tonight.” He said to her without looking up.

“I didn’t tell you that for buts, you will come home with me tonight. There’s no argument about that. We’ll come to work together and go back home together.” Nathan said to her sternly.

Demelza rolls hr eyes obviously not wanting it but at this point, she has not choice but to agree wordlessly.
