They stared at each other for a while before Nathan moved in to kiss her. He was mesmerized by the way her eyes fluttered open when he touched her forehead and couldn’t resist the pull that urged him to clasp his lips with her.

Demelza didn’t push him away as her desires for him were ignited too. Thankfully, her fever had gone down making him feel less guilty for what he intended to do to her.

‘Was he doing this to impress me?’ Demelza questioned in her mind as she never knew of this nice side of his. He pressed and pressured the parts that ached from the heel she had worn making her feel happy within.

But this gesture of his was only to make her to trust him a little. He knew how to woo a woman until she was left with nothing but her heart. This tactics of his favoured him in many ways and got him everything he ever wanted.

“You surprise me sometimes Nathan,” she broke the silence between them and he smiled then began to trail his fingers on her legs.

Demelza pressed her lips from the tickling sensation and quickly withdrew her legs when she saw the dark hue in his eyes.

“I am going to take a shower,” she said and hot out of his bed in a hurry before something would happen between them a second time.

Nathan chuckled from her shy nature and decided to let her go. He took up his phone the moment she went into his bathroom.

“Is there anything you want in particular?,” he asked her as he searched for a restaurant to order food.

“Anything you eat is fine by me,” she replied and continued with her shower. The fact that Nathan was being sweet to her made her insides feel giddy. If she didn’t have a clash with him, she would have gladly agreed to him.

Maybe he was only mean to her when it came to his job. She must have created the image which she had for him out of resent.

After having a shower, she came out to meet an empty room.

‘maybe the delivery must have arrived ‘ she thought in her mind as she went down to look for him. She had muffled voices that seemed like two people arguing.

However, the woman she saw made her heart ache and her mood turned gloomy. Nathan was with the woman she had first seen messing around with him in his office.

Nathan didn’t know how to explain the situation to her as the woman had showed up all of sudden. He tried to send her away but she kept insisting on staying with him.

Hurt and betrayed by the sight before her, Demelza yelled at his face “You bloody liar I knew you couldn’t be trusted. I can’t believe I fell for your stupid tricks!” She dashed out of his house shoving the woman aside in the process.

“Get out of my house right now!” He roared at the woman in anger before he chased after Demelza. The sky began to let down its shower suiting Demelza’s current mood.

“Wait, stop Demelza. I swear it is a misunderstanding,” he called out to her as the rain drenched his body. But she refused to listen and continued to walk under the rain.

“Demelza you will catch a good again!”, he yelled as he reached out to take her arm.

“Don’t touch me you scum,” she barked at him in anger and he stopped feeling hurt from her outburst. He didn’t believe that he would run after her like this or feel scared about her leaving with the wrong idea.

He had brought a lot of women’s heart and never felt remorseful for the cause. He didn’t bothered to explain himself to them but Demelza made him do otherwise.

‘Maybe I am acting like this because I want something from her’ he consoled his thoughts with those silly words that were full of lies.

“Please listen to me Mel,” he called her name short again.

“No, I won’t. It is already clear that you are trying to mess with me. There is no need for your explanation,” she spat out and turned away from him.

The rain grew heavier making splattering sounds as it touched the ground. They were both soaked yet none of them agreed to make a move.

“I am sorry if I made you feel pathetic and angry. She just showed up and I thought she was the delivery man. I tried to send her off but she kept insisting on staying,” his explanation sounded foreign to his ears as he said them.

“Well what did you expect when you mess around with women? She is attached to you because she feels a need for you in her life. You made her feel that way and there is no doubt that you will do the same to me,” she told him to his face and he felt defeated.

“I won’t do the same to you Demelza. Everything you saw back there was just a misunderstanding. I would never lie to you and you know that,” he poured out those words of lies without shaking.

“Please come back to the house. I know that you are angry right now but I can’t let you go like this. I am truly sorry,” he said with a clean face and she believed him.

She sighed and walked passed him keeping a distance between them as she trudged back to his house. By the time they got back, the woman was gone and their order was delivered.

They went into separate rooms and took a warm bath because of the time the spent under the rain. Demelza wore the shirt he had given her since she had no other cloth except the one that was drenched by the rain.

“I look cute in everything so your compliment does not count,” she acted as if she was not flattered by his words.

“Like the red shirt and the white top. I really liked the way it elaborated your curves. If I didn’t know you, I would have thought you were a super model,” he teased her and she laughed.

“You really do know how to woo a woman with sweet words. But I am not the kind that fall for such,” she cleared him off but he persisted in flirting with her.

“Well, my plan has always been to woo you Demelza. There is no way a woman can resist my charms,” he got up from where he sat and pulled her head towards him. “You can’t resist me for long Demelza,” he whispered as his lips sealed with her filling every of her senses with his words.
