Ethan’s Vengeance of Love

Chapter 98

Chapter 98

This is about Apollo. I have to take this seriously. I cannot let anyone overhear anything. Someone was listening in on them, and she couldn’t guarantee whether they would be followed or not even if they were to leave, so she picked the spot where the camera couldn’t see them. Since she was worried they could still be heard, she stood on tiptoe and leaned closer to whisper, “Can I have a few strands of your hair?”

She mused over it for a long time before coming to this decision. She couldn’t possibly pluck his hair herself, since it would be inappropriate. If Keith was Apollo’s father, she could see the boy wanting him, so there was no need to hide anything. If he wasn’t the father, then he should forget about this soon enough.

Keith paused for a moment. He didn’t think she would make this request, but he only hesitated for a moment, then he said, “Sure.” He didn’t even ask her why she needed his hair. He then plucked a few strands off his head and handed them to her.

Carefully, she took them from him. This is about Apollo’s parentage. This is important. And hair is delicate. I can’t move too much or I might risk damaging it. She took them, tucked them away, and opened the door.

The moment she did, she felt a gust of cold wind assailing her. It’s hot as a stove, so what’s with the chill? It’s even colder than the room. And I feel something dangerous coming closer.

She raised her head and was met with a familiarly beautiful face, though the man did not look happy at all. Alice was surprised. Ethan? Why is he here? When did he get here? Just now? Or has he been here for a while? He couldn’t have heard anything, could he? He seems a bit miffed.

Since Ethan was here, Chris hurried over as well. He saw Alice and Keith standing close together from outside the door. They were also smiling, apparently happy with their conversation. When he looked over at Ethan, he was met with Ethan’s dark, brooding look, and he gasped. Oh, man.

Keith looked at Ethan in surprise. He didn’t know why Ethan would show up, and it seemed like he was here to catch someone. Keith was sure Ethan didn’t come for him, so he must be here for Alice. What kind of relationship do they share? And why does he look like he’s catching his cheating wife? A hundred thoughts raced through his head, but he stayed calm. “What a coincidence, Mr. Knight.”

Chris’ lips twitched. Coincidence? You were proposing to his wife in that room, and now the husband is here. You call that a coincidence? Chris didn’t expect Ethan to come himself, and he came quickly too. He’s really mad about it, but I can understand why. She’s still his wife, but she didn’t even refuse the proposal. That’s just insulting.

Ethan only glanced at Keith and turned his attention to Alice. He didn’t care what Keith did or said; all he cared about was how Alice would respond. He wanted an explanation. He wanted to know why she met up with Keith alone, why she gave Keith a present as well as the reason she didn’t refuse his proposal clearly. They were also standing so close together at the doorway? I need an explanation.

Alice was surprised to see Ethan at first, but she composed herself. She saw Chris and the people behind him. Those people obviously knew Ethan and were about to say hi, but they were scared by how angry Ethan looked. The agreement, as stated many times throughout many chapters, said that their marriage must be kept a secret, so she couldn’t explain anything to Ethan right now. And so, she left without even sparing Ethan a look. She left just like that.

Chris was shocked. What is going on? What is she doing? Ethan’s right here. He just saw you meeting with another man, and you ignored him just like that? I can’t believe this.

Ethan laughed mirthlessly. Damn her.

Keith smiled as well. There was delight and smugness in that smile. He thought Ethan would get something from this fierce attack, but instead, he was ignored. Keith couldn’t hide his smile even if he

tried, and he called out deliberately, “A minute, Alice-Alice.” He was starting to come up with a nickname too, unlike how he addressed her when they were in the room.

Ethan’s narrowed eyes glinted coldly. Did he just call her Alice-Alice? And she didn’t even say anything to that? He looked at Alice, but she didn’t even stop or turn around.

The cheeky Keith said, “We’ll be leaving now, Mr. Knight. Ta-ta.” And then he left with Alice.

Alice didn’t even turn back once.

It wasn’t until Alice and Keith turned the corner and left everyone’s sight that Chris snapped out of it. “What the hell is she doing? She left with him just like that? When you’re right here?” Chris still couldn’t believe what he just saw.

How dare she? “Does she really want to marry Keith?” That was the only reason Chris could come up with. Maybe she thinks she can ignore Ethan so brazenly because she now has Keith to rely on.

Ethan shot Chris an icy look. “You think she wants to marry him?” His voice was as icy as a snowstorm in late winter, crushing those who dared to stand underneath it. Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

“No, of course not. She would never do that to you,” Chris answered without missing a beat, even though he thought that was the only reason for Alice to ignore Ethan so openly.
