DAWN’S HOME, NEW YORK. Minny hissed as she tossed her phone onto the couch. She has been trying to reach Jace, but he seems to be having fun ignoring her. “What’s with the face?” Dawn asked, sitting opposite her with a bowl of ice cream. “It’s Jace; that dude gets on my nerves like no other.” “Are you that into him? Because it appears that you call him more than your supposed boyfriend.” Minny gave her a side glare but didn’t say anything in response. Dawn sniffed, “You already have a man who dotes on you. That should be enough. Let Jace be. It is unheard of that two sisters are after the same brothers. I wanted Xander first, so let me have him.” “No one is stopping you.” Minny retorted with an eye roll. “You know what I am talking about, Minny. What you like is the thrill that comes with sneaking around with Jace. I don’t think you want him that much.” “I do want him. There is nothing wrong with having a second option. What if Reece starts acting up? I need something to fall back on.” She said with no hint of misquote in her words. Dawn wanted to criticize her for her irresponsible thoughts. But she was stopped by the ringing of her phone. A bright smile bounced off her face when the caller turned out to be Xander. “Hey, booboo.” She cooed into the receiver, wiggling her brows at Minny. “How are you?” Xander sounded distant on the other end. “I am good, Dawn. Is everything okay?” Dawn shifted and sat up. “Why do you ask?” “I just want to be sure everything is well at the company. Jace won’t give me the response I desire.” She looked worried. “Why? Did anything come up in the news? The company is doing just fine.” There was a brief silence on the other end. “I haven’t been able to reach Nina. I want to be certain that everything is going well.” Xander said. A dark shadow cast over Dawn’s features. She sucked in a deep breath, trying hard to keep her rage at bay. “Well, I do not live with Nina. So I do not think I am the right person for this call.” Xander caught the sentence a bit late. He cursed lightly. “Pardon me, Dawn. I was just desperate.” She scoffed. “Yeah, right. Have a good day, Xander!” Dawn hissed, ending the call. Minny had amusement written all over her face. “Did you get whooped?” “Shut up!” She growled, standing up with the ice cream and dumping it in the trash while washing her hands violently under the open faucet. Her sister watched her intently. Minny can tell she is on the verge of bursting out in anger. She huffed tiredly when Dawn’s arm was getting quite red. The skin looked like it would peel off. Tired of watching, she turned off the faucet. “What are you doing?” Dawn screamed. Minny looks unfazed. “I should be the one asking you that. Why are you going all crazy over a call?” “Do you know what that bastard called to ask me about?” She yawned as if bored. “I don’t know if you don’t tell.” “He called to ask me about his dumb ex. Can you believe that?” Dawn screamed again. “Will you stop doing that? Yes, he called to ask about her. Probably because you are the one in charge now.” “Are you stupid? Do I look like the HR to you? How is it my job to look out for one stupid bitch?” She questioned, storming back to the living room. Sighing tiredly, Minny followed her, dragging her feet behind. “Are they back together?” “Not that I know. But I bet that Nina is trying her best to pull Xander in. She is no doubt desperate to find a baby daddy for that bastard she’s carrying in a filthy womb. And somehow, she has been able to rope Xander in.” “You think so? He appears to be independent-minded to me.” “What do you even know?” “I have no idea what I know. But I do know that you said you would handle the so-called bitch!” Dawn ruffled her hair in frustration. “I did, and for the past week, she still hasn’t flinched under the pressure. I would expect her to break down due to her condition. Instead, she keeps going strong like she has swallowed some power potion.” “But aren’t you worried about Xander finding out?” Dawn thinned her lips. Even though she isn’t sure, she wants to believe Xander wouldn’t get to find out or feel any way toward her actions. “I hope she will leave the company before he returns. We only have two weeks left.” “How desperate are you to get her out of the company?” Minny asked with a devilish smirk on her face. “Very. All I want is my man back. Xander has to be mine alone once again. She is causing him to be distracted too much.” Silence settled in the room, and each person was lost in thoughts. Minny tapped at her head with a finger. All of a sudden, she snapped her finger. “I think I might have an idea, but it would be up to you to figure out the steps.” Her sister raised a brow. “Why do I have a feeling that I might regret this?” “There won’t be a need for that if you do not involve yourself directly.” “Now I am worried,” Dawn admitted. She knows Minny always has several tricks up her sleeve. At the same time, that doesn’t mean she executes them smartly, which is why Dawn hardly takes advice from her. Minny scoffed. “Fine! You are skeptical about my advice so that I will keep my thoughts to myself.” She mumbled, attempting to stand up, but Dawn pulled her back. “Relax! I was just wondering. Just tell me what you need me to do. Let’s see if it would work out.” “Alright then, here is the plan.” Minny mused.
