Chapter 196
Hector POV
I knew it was too easy, that he wasn't putting up a fight
He wanted her here.
Hence this sick message he has left for my mate on his office wall.
As Kala steps out of the room I take pictures to send to the council, the council that had been swallowing up his lies. Now they will see what kind of a sick fuck he is. 2421..I knew instantly what that was, even though Kaia didn't. The only reason because I have one myself.
A safe code.
I move quickly knowing Kaia is only on the other side of the wall to find a hidden safe.
When it isn't behind the posters or pictures on his wall, I look behind his book case but come up empty.
Sitting at his desk, I look through unimportant paperwork, before pulling on his desk drawers.
The top two are as expected...keys, pens, cigarettes...but the bottom drawer, as soon as I pull on the handle I feel the heaviness...the safe that I had been looking for.
Not wasting any valuable time, I key in the code keeping an eye on Kala outside who was now trailing her finger along a side-table inspecting the amount of dust which had been added to by the smoke bombs. Opening the safe I reach down to find a number of files...one titled The White Wolf.
My breath catches in the back of my throat as I quickly flick through the papers to find pictures of Kaia from before her accident, standing on the cliff top, walking with Beckett..and even pictures of her and Alora
The sick prick even circling Kaia and putting a thick red line through Alora.
I feauseated ready through reports of the repetitiveness of his attacks, the attacks Alora and Ezra pushed back on whilst Kaia and I were playing happy couple.
I had been blinded by the need to get Kaia out, to make her mine before anybody else made a claim for her that I had allowed her pack to be punished. I had been selfish.
I continue to search through the documents when I find a terrain map, with lines showing the pack borders of the Nightshade Reformed pack. He had everything...aerial view pictures of the map including birdseye views of the alpha home and the medical centre. But what I didn't understand is why he had added markings with handwritten notes for a grander scale hospital, a military training camp and even a temple.
A temple for what?
"Hector? Are you ready?" Kaia's rejoins the office remaining by the door, hesitant to come in as her eyes stare back at the message on the wall. I quickly place the documents away back in the safe before joining her and deliberately blocking her view of the message
"Yes, let's go give them their options." She is already walking away from me...touch...I need to remind her what we are to one another. I pull her into me, placing a sensual kiss on her mark. Her moan comes before she has a chance to fight it, her hands raking up and pulling at my hair. There...she craves me...so why is she fighting it.
Her heat couldn't come sooner. For her safety and my wolf's heightened possessiveness of late, it
couldn't come sooner.
We head downstairs where Alora and Ezra have secured the outside of the tower building, all pack members now congregated outside, our warriors surrounding them with their weapons armed. "There's no need for violence." She waves at the warriors, informing them to lower the guns.
"This was a necessary operation to keep the peace between our 2 packs..." She starts to address them but is cut off.
"Operation this is more like an invasion. What do you want?" A pack elder has the nerve to shout back at Kaia. From NôvelDrama.Org.
"Your alpha has continued to launch deadly attacks on my pack. Yes you are right this is an invasion but I mean you no harm...if you abide by my rules.
Your Alpha has left you, he knew the attack was happening, yet he left you. For now, you will all be placed under curfew and any weapons will be surrendered to my warriors. I repeat we mean no harm." "Without our weapons we will be killed." A female shrieks from the crowd.
"I stand by my words, I mean you no harm. We are a peaceful people.."
"Rogues...you are all rogues.." A man spits out at Kaia's feet, my immediate reaction was to throttle him but Kaia needed to show unwavering strength. They needed to see that she was a strong alpha by herself. "Your Alpha has abandoned you, you are alone." As her unsettling words hit them I take the opportunity to mind-link Ezra about the files in the office.
"Ezra, there's a safe in the bottom drawer of Marc's desk. I need you to take the documents out and keep them hidden from Kaia and Alora."
"Yes Alpha."
"Good, go now.
"What is the code for the safe?"
"It's on the wall."
