I am Jealous Part 2

“Come here!” Mrs. Anna, who did want to invite Arvel and Jessica, asked them.

Lexi was busy with his breakfast. He got disturbed by his mother’s words. Why did his mother invite Jessica and Arvel? Why just two of them?

“Where are we going auntie?”

Arvel, who had finished the dishes on his plate, looked enthusiastic. A month before he started working at the company he would use to play around. There was nothing wrong with being a little mean to Lexi. He was too serious about being a businessman and a husband.

“Accompany me and my husband to see the building construction project in West Jakarta, do you want it?” Mrs. Anna asked expectantly.

“Sure, I’m coming! What about my sister-in-law?” Arvel offered. His job here was to annoy Lexi. He needed to interrupt his wife first.

“Uh- huh, ” Jessica whispered to Lexi.

Lexi took a glance away, but it made Jessica disappointed. At the very least, she wanted Lexi to show concern by forbading her. He ignored it as if it didn’t matter.

“You better come with Jessica, than at home!” The two corners of Mrs. Anna’s lips widened, forming a smile. She wanted Jessica to come along, she wanted to talk one-on-one with her daughter-in-law without Lexi knowing.

“Yes you must come. I also want to get to know you more closely,” Arvel chimed in. He winked his eyes and showed it to Lexi.

“No, Jessica can’t go anywhere, she just came home yesterday, I want her to stay home!” Lexi forbade. Not once or twice, but this was the third time Arvel had shown interest in Jessica.

“Lexi, why do you say that? Mommy also wants to walk with Jessica. Not only you, but I miss Jessica so much!” Mrs. Anna clearly did not like Lexi who was selfish to forbid Jessica to stay at the house. “Anyway, Arvel and Jessica are going with me!” She didn’t want to get rejected by her son.

“It’s up to you!” Lexi got up from his seat. He took a look at Jessica for a moment. “I’m going to work now! At noon, I go home and I want Jessica to be home already! Otherwise I won’t let her go!” Lexi said strictly. He was still not willing if Arvel and Jessica would go together.

‘Is he jealous?’ Jessica said in her mind.

“Jessica, accompany me to the car!” Lexi asked.

“Okay,” her voice cracked. She followed in Lexi’s footsteps.

Arrived on the veranda of the house.

“You know what you have to do!” Lexi said. He ruffled waist, not yet to leave the house, he was already worried about Arvel.

That’s all that came out of Jessica’s mouth, not knowing what her husband meant.

“Don’t get too close to Arvel, don’t smile at him, don’t look back in his eyes, and don’t come home late. I’ll be home by lunchtime and at least serve two of your dishes. Anything!” Lexi reached out, forcing Jessica to kiss the back of his hand. Then, he kissed his wife’s forehead and immediately got into the car.

Arsene opened the car door and sat behind the wheel.

“Did I look wrong, Sir?” Arsene asked. He just watched Lexi land a kiss on his wife’s forehead.

“What? Don’t ask anything and leave immediately!” Lexi clenched his lips. He didn’t want Arsene to ask what he just saw.

Silence.

Arsene’s hands outstretched, turning the car keys. Then, he started walking his car out of Ricardo’s family residence.

On the way, Arsene observed Lexi several times. The man was busy sliding the screen of his phone like he was contacting someone.

“Who are you calling, Sir?” Arsene asked.

“Ronald, where is he? sometimes he is always hard to get in touch with!” he complained

“Why Are you calling Ron?” Arsene was curious. He would be the one to call Ronald as Lexi’s orders.

“I want him to spy on Jessica!” he said.

“Mr. Lexi?”

“What?”

“It seems that you have already begun to fall in love with Miss Jessica!” the secretary guessed in full confidence. In just a moment there were many clues that Lexi exposed.

“Don’t joke, keep your word! It wouldn’t be that easy to fall in love with anyone! Including Jessica!” Lexi refused.

“You want to make it a dare?”Arsene teased with a smile cracking on his lips.

Lexi turned his face away. He choose not to listen to Arsene.

Lexi arrived at the office. At nine o’clock, he came out of his room to meet his staff. Everything was normal, until finally when he passed his father’s room, his father was inside.

The man stopped his steps, and decided to say hello to Mr. Samuel.

“Good morning, Dad? Have you just arrived at the office?” Lexi said as he walked towards his father.

“Good morning, you have greeted me at home,” Mr. Samuel said. “What is it?”

“You didn’t go to that building with mom and Jessica?” Lexi confirmed their plan this morning.

“No, mom and dad didn’t go to that building, suddenly one of mom’s colleagues came to the house. So mom couldn’t come, and dad chose to come to the office!” his father explained.

“Then, what about Jessica and Arvel?” Lexi gulped, preparing to get the worst answer.

“They both still go to that building,” Mr. Samuel told as he opened several incoming emails, not forgetting to reply one by one.

“Just the two of them?” Lexi asked, he hoped Jessica and Arvel go with the driver.

“Yups.”

Lexi awas silent. He didn’t think Jessica would go alone with Arvel.

“I have to go!” Lexi hurried back to his room office.

“Okay.”

Instead of going to see the planning department staff. Lexi chose a return to his office. He couldn’t help but think about Jessica. Yes, he just went alone, without anyone. This man believed that his wife would not mess around. However, with Arvel?

“What?”

Lexi snorted resentfully. All of Arvel’s attitude, he couldn’t ignore. He showed his interest to his wife, Jessica.

Arrived at his room office. Lexi approached her secretary.

“Can I go home now? Can you arrange my schedule for this afternoon?” Lexi asked. ‘I wanted to pick up Jessica, so as not to go alone with Arvel.’

“You cannot, Sir! Yesterday you already postponed, and now you can’t postpone again?” Arsene narrowed his eyes. How so, Lexi asked him to change the meeting schedule repeatedly.

“Then, when can I go home?” Lexi urged. He clenched both hands and almost landed a punch on Arsene’s workbench.

“Sir! Whether you want to work or not?” Arsene asked. How could it be just an hour in the office? Lexi has been whining asking to go home, like a chick who just lost her mother. He couldn’t be calm nor silent.

Arsene’s words made Lexi speechless, and he returned to his seat. To ease his heart, Lexi tried to contact Jessica. However, it was a pity that up to a dozen times he tried to call, Jessica did not pick calls from him at all.

“Shit!” he said. Almost he threw his phone.

Jessica and Arvel were on their way to Ricardo’s building in West Jakarta. Arvel sat behind the wheel, while Jessica sat beside him.

“My sister, do you know why I came so early?” Arvel asked, opening the conversation.

“I don’t know why?” Jessica asked back. He didn’t know. This was the first time she met other members of the Ricardo family, other than Lexi and his parents.

“I have a very important mission and must be able to complete it!” Arvel said enthusiastically. Being alone with a woman as beautiful as Jessica was not a problem for him.

“What is the mission?”

It seemed obvious that Jessica liked to talk with Arvel. He was friendly and not arrogant like her husband.

“Making Lexi jealous, one of missions is to go alone with you, my sister,” he said.

“I’m not sure!” Jessica answered.

“I’m so sure, trust me my sister! I’m gonna get Lexi to express his feelings to you!” Arvel promised. The look in Lexi’s eyes when they had breakfast together this morning, as well as the conversation last night was clear that Lexi did not like to see Jessica close to other men.
