Chapter 37

Revenge

Beryl turned on his phone camera. He captured the sunrise view this morning, directing it to the sun. Then he slowly shifted his cellphone camera, highlighting the figure of a woman who was walking closer, Jessica.

His friend was walking slowly, her face down listlessly. One hand covered her mouth hiding her facial expression.

Beryl ended the video recording on his phone. “Sit here, please,” he asked Jessica to sit next to him.

Jessica sat down, close to Beryl.

“Did you sleep well last night? I can’t sleep because I keep thinking about you,” Beryl said.

Jessica was speechless, she shook her head slowly.

Beryl continued to look at Jessica. Lexi Ricardo? Who is that man? His name was still very unfamiliar to his ears, but the man managed to become his rival in just one of their meetings. Who is he? Why did Jessica obey and was afraid of him?

“I’ve asked, and Chelsea still don’t want to answer!” Beryl was disappointed. “Now , you have to explain what really happened?” he asked. Today, he wanted to get an answer soon. Tomorrow morning he would already be in Singapore, and it would be very disturbing if Jessica still didn’t want to tell him.

“Tell me what I have to explain?”Jessica was holding her breath. She didn’t want to show her sorrow to Beryl.

“Who is Lexi Ricardo? What made you bond with him?” Beryl investigated.

Jessica did not answer. She didn’t know how to start her story.

Silent.

The coastal breeze blew hard. However, Jessica still could not hide her sobs.

“Jessica, are you crying?” Beryl asked. The sobs of Jessica sitting next to him were clearly audible.

“I’m not crying,” Jessica said. She was wiping away her tears with the back of her hand. Her tongue was stuck out, how could she tell Beryl everything while her heart was in pain. Yes, all night she waited for Lexi to come to her room. She hoped for an apology from her husband, but what happened this morning still couldn’t be accepted by his mind.

Why didn’t Lexi just tell her that he was cured? Why didn’t he tell her that he likes Cassandra? And if it had to be a divorce, Jessica would also accept that.

Once again Jessica hit her chest to reduce the weight and tightness she felt.

Beryl grabbed Jessica in an embrace. All his life, as long as he knew, he never saw Jessica crying, until sobbing.

“You can cry here in my arms, but you owe me an explanation Jessica! I want to know who is the one who has made you sob like this.” Beryl let Jessica lean back, letting out her crying in his arms.

The night.

Lexi’s cell phone rang, there was a phone call from Cassandra.

“What is it?” Lexi answered curtly.

“I can’t sleep, will you come out and have a drink with me at the bar?” the woman asked on the other side of the phone.

“I haven’t had a drink in a long time!” Lexi answered. He just wanted to be in the room. He was thinking about Jessica.

“I don’t drink either, I just need a friend for tonight!” Cassandra persuaded.

“Okay.”

“Come here soon, I’m at the ground floor mini bar!” Cassandra was happy.

“I’ll be there.”

Lexi left out of his hotel room. He walked towards the ground floor, where Cassandra was already waiting for him. Upon arrival, Lexi was finding her. He immediately walked over to Cassandra who waved her hand at him.

The music sounded slow. Not a lot of people spent the night here.

“Drink it, it’s plain soda water,” Cassandra offered. She had no intention of drinking alcohol.

Lexi took a sip of the drink Cassandra had ordered. He lit a cigarette and intended to have a long conversation with this woman he had been on a blind date with some time ago.

“Do you have a boyfriend or girlfriend?” Cassandra asked. Honestly, she wanted to get married in the near future and she also didn’t mind if Lexi became his future husband.

“Why did you suddenly ask that?”Lexi said even though his body was near Cassandra, but his mind was always on Jessica.

“I just want to know, after all I don’t want to be a destroyer of people’s relationships either. So when I’m close to a man, I have to make sure. Is the man in a relationship or not?” Cassandra said. She’s been in the entertainment world for a long time. Rumors or scandals regarding a third person can ruin her career. It is better to avoid such things that will destroy her career.

“It seems you have to think again if you want to marry me, to be honest I have a sexual disease,” Lexi said. He didn’t want to give the model fake hope.

“What do you mean? You’re not kidding, are you?”Cassandra linked her eyebrows in disbelief with what Lexi had just said.

“Of course I’m serious. I- I have a sexual aversion disorder, I’m not interested at all in your body or anything Cassandra, so are you still going to accept me?” Lexi asked her.

[Sexual Aversion Disorder ] Cassandra immediately searched for it in the search engine on her phone. She skimmed that article about it.

“Do you doubt my ability in bed? Can I prove it tonight?” Cassandra tried to make a challenge with Lexi.

“Prove it if you can, until this moment only one person can make me desire and I want to fuck her!” Lexi said. He just wanted to be honest with Cassandra and wanted to make her give up on her ambition to get him.

“Alright let’s go to the room now, I will prove that I am so charming, no one can resist me!” Cassandra said with her seductive eyes. The light of his eyes should be able to fascinate Lexi.

“Really?” Lexi was not sure because several times he came into contact with Cassandra. He even kissed the back of her hand, but his body didn’t react at all. It was the same with her tonight he was very sure not to be excited at all, although Cassandra was naked in front of him.

“Who is afraid? Let’s go to your room right now and I will show you how strong my charm is!” Cassandra teased.

Cassandra started everything by kissing Lexi many times. However, the hot scenes only stopped there.

“Enough! It’s not gonna work!” Lexi stopped.

“In that case, let me stay in this room until morning, I just want to sleep here! We don’t have to do anything! Just let me sleep in your arms, and tell me who that special woman is, the only woman who turns you on!” Cassandra insisted.

“The woman is staying next to my room,” Lexi replied. Cassandra looked at Lexi’s finger which pointed to a room. There’s a connecting room. Who is she?

“I don’t care!” Cassandra answered. She forced Lexi’s hands to embrace him.

“I don’t want to sleep with you!” Lexi refused. He realized this was his mistake. No, he remembered that he was playing with fire cause he used Cassandra to make Jessica jealous. Stupid!

In the morning.

Lexi was awake and there was no Cassandra in his room. He immediately went to Jessica’s room, but his wife was not there either.

The man was returning again to his room, grabbed this cell phone and called Jessica. However, there was still no answer. The sound of a cell phone ringing was even heard in the next room.

“Where are you Jessica?” Lexi went back to Jessica’s room. He was taking his wife’s phone, from there he knew that Jessica was going to the beach with Beryl.

“Shit!”

Lexi immediately came down from her room. He was still wearing pajamas. He went to the nearest beach.

His footsteps were quick, and he continued down the beach, sweeping the view looking for Jessica.

He finally found Jessica. His wife, at this moment, was in the arms of another man. Beryl.

Lexi approached.

Beryl who saw Lexi, immediately unraveled a hug. He walked over to Lexi.

Two punches landed on Lexi’s right cheek.

“You are an asshole!” he shouted.

“That’s you,” Beryl replied.

“Go away you, don’t get close to Jessica!” Lexi said. His fingers were already clenched into fists to return Beryl’s blow.

“No! If I go, I’ll take Jessica with me!” Beryl didn’t let go of his hand on Jessica’s fingers.

“Watch out!”

“You’re the one who made Jessica cry! Just watch out! Our business is not over yet!” Beryl threatened. He looked at Jessica. He took his friend away from Lexi.
