"Mr. Spencer, hear me out first, won't you?"

She was worried he would get angry again and leave in a hurry without hearing her out first. If that happened, she would never get a chance to see him again.

Theodore suppressed the fire burning in his chest, and tried to remain calm. "Go ahead."

"You still love your ex-wife deeply, despite her being married to another man."

Aurora observed the change in Theodore's countenance as she spoke. She could sense his eyes turning darker at her words.

Aurora went on, "I think you should go to Melrine to see her, rather than staying here and dwell in your pain."

"I....."

"Don't tell me you don't want to see her," Aurora said, cutting him off. "If you don't want to see her, you wouldn't have asked that man called Yerick for her address. You can't fool me, especially with how you look. And don't even think about fooling yourself! You want to see your ex-wife, more so than anyone else. Don't lie to yourself."

Theodore stood silent.

Aurora went on, "Since you want to see her, why won't you go to her? Rather than missing her day and night, letting the pain torture you, you should go find her and see her. Perhaps you should even thrash things out with her. That's way better than keeping things to yourself and putting yourself through such agony."

"There's nothing more to be said between us," Theodore said.

"If so, why did you even ask for her address? Mr. Spencer, once you head there, you'll be able to see her. You two can have a good chat and try to unravel the knot in your heart. No one knows what could happen."

"You say that no one knows what could happen," Theodore said coldly. "But what if something bad happens?"

"What else can you do?" Aurora said. "You can't change the past. Anything is better than the state you're in right now. No matter what happens, nothing can be worse than the situation right now.

"I know you want to see her, you definitely do. It's just that you can't get over yourself. So let me accompany you, alright? I'm willing to accompany you to see her, while fulfilling my dream of visiting Melrine at the same time as you find your ex-wife."

"Why must you go with me?" Theodore asked.

"Because I'm worried about you. I want to go with you because I'm worried you might do something foolish."

It was Sydney who called Aurora

over. Sydney told her many things, and encouraged her to comfort Theodore. Sydney even told her that she could save Theodore and

replace his ex-wife.

to

Since Sydney trusted her so much and believed she could do it, Aurora would do all she could to fulfill his Sydney's expectations of her.

Theodore looked darkly at Aurora. "Will you really be able to stop me if I tried taking my life?"

Aurora said, "I don't know if I can, but I'll feel assured just being able to see you."

Aurora looked down,

disappointment evident in her eyes.

"If... If you agree to my request, t promise you that I'll never find you

again after we return. I'll

never... bother you again."

"Haha..." Theodore chuckled helplessly. "Why are you so stupid? You clearly know that I'll never love you. Or do you think you stand a chance?"

"No," Aurora said, "I'm not harboring any hope. I can tell that you'll never fall for me, but I'm doing this willingly. You can call me a fool, and that's what I want to be, because i believe that you'll pull yourself together and have a good life, as long as you're willing to do this."

Theodore remained silent for a long time.

Finally, he sighed. "Get some rest. We'll talk about it again after you recover."

He turned to leave the ward.

"Is that a yes?" Aurora said, choking back tears.

Theodore pondered for a moment before saying, "I'll think about it."

With that, he left the ward.
