Chasing My Pregnant Wife

Chapter 785

Chapter 785

In the corridor outside the hospital room, Sydney watched Wesley's troubled expression.

Sydney couldn't help but reassure him, "She'll be okay."

Wesley let out a soft sigh. "Sydney, I'm really not lying to you. My mom really-"

"I know," Sydney interrupted. "I believe you now."

Rebecca had fainted right in front of her, so she had no choice but to accept it.

Later, the doctor performed a CT scan and MRI for Rebecca.

When the results came in, the doctor pointed to the findings and told them, "The patient shows enlarged lateral ventricles and widened sulci, with clear signs of cerebral atrophy in the frontal lobe. The MRI also indicates atrophy in the hippocampal area."

Although Wesley didn't fully understand the medical jargon, he could guess the implications.

"So my mom really has dementia?" he asked.

The doctor nodded. "Based on the current results, yes."

Wesley felt his body sway in the chair. With Sydney wanting a divorce and his mother having dementia, the double blow was almost too much to bear. Sydney quickly supported him.

Wesley turned to her, his gaze blurry. He gently patted the back of her hand. "Thank you."

After leaving the doctor's office, they entered the hospital room.

Rebecca, who had just woken up, saw the worried expressions on their faces. "What's wrong? You both look so glum. Did someone upset you?" Wesley walked up with a smile. "Mom, you're in the hospital. How could we be happy?"

"I'm fine," Rebecca replied. "I feel better now. Let's go home."

"Wait a minute." Wesley pressed her down. "Let's stay a few more days for a thorough check-up."

"My health is good; I'm fine," she insisted.

"Mom, please don't make us worry,"

Wesley pleaded. He was truly

uneasy about her going home so soon. Even with someone to care for her, it was still safer in the hospital. What something happened at home, and they couldn't get her to the hospital in time? At least in the hospital, medical staff were

available to help her at any moment.

Seeing the serious expressions on her son and daughter-in-law's faces, Rebecca guessed something was amiss.

"It's normal for me to forget things at my age. You don't need to worry so much."

Sydney chimed in, "Wesley and I will take turns caring for you."

"How can I let you take care of me?" Rebecca quickly replied. "Just let the caregivers handle it. You both are busy."

"It's fine," Sydney said. "I happen to be free right now, and we'll take turns. When he's busy, I'll care for you, and when I'm busy, he'll take over. It'll be better to have family looking after you." Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org

Seeing their filial concern, Rebecca felt a swell of gratitude in her heart.

"By the way, where's Theo? How has he been? I haven't seen him in a long time."

"Theo's doing well. I'll contact him now and ask him to come see you."

"It's okay," Sydney replied. "I know he's busy. He can come when he has time; I'm not going anywhere."

"By the way." Rebecca seemed to remember something. "Wesley, what do you think about that thing?" "What thing?" Wesley asked.

"About Theodore marrying Rose. I think they make a great couple. What do you think?"

Wesley and Sydney exchanged glances.

"Mom," Sydney said, "things like this should really be up to them. We can't just decide for them."
