It Is Time
Joel carefully assisted the old woman on the swing before realizing her feet were dangling, and although eager to get on it, her body tense and hand shook as she struggled to maintain her balance on it.
“Grandma, I don’t think this is a good idea. You could fall.” Joel worriedly said, not daring to let go of each side of the seat to keep it balanced and not throw the woman off.
The old woman, however, laughed in delight. “I did it. I told her I could do it.” She exclaimed in joy, not realizing Joel was the one keeping her stable.
“Hum, how about you come down?” Joel’s eyes darted from Nima, who was staring at them from where she sat and the old woman giggling in triumph.
“No no, my dear. You can leave now. You have done an amazing job helping me.” She replied, but Joel didn’t dare let go.
Distressed by the stubbornness of the old woman, he began to regret helping her when she heard a frustrated tone from behind him calling out to the old woman.
“Grandma!”
A beautiful young woman came into view, her expression sour as she glared at the old woman, then at Joel.
With his fast thinking capabilities, Joel immediately understood the old woman went against her granddaughter’s word.Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
Despite the glare, the old woman excitedly giggled and let go of the handle.
“Laura look at me, I can….” Her word flattered as she swayed back, and thanks to Joel not letting go completely, he managed to catch the old woman, who gasped in shock.
Joel’s heart nearly jumped out of his chest, while the granddaughter covered her mouth with both palms in horror.
“Are you okay?” Joel asked the old woman as he carefully set her down to stand on her feet.
Embarrassed, the old woman nodded.
“See, nana? I told you it’s too risky and you sent me to get something for you, so you can do it behind my back.” The young lady remarked with another glare.
“They made the swing poorly.” The oldwoman replied in a small voice before the lady’s gaze softened.
“I apologized for the interruption, but I will take my leave now.” Joel said, and the lady looked up to have a proper look at him.
Her eyes seem to hold a sudden curiosity. Her gaze softened, and she was about to start a conversation when Nimalaya reached where they stood.
“Joel.” She called, and he gave a polite smile to the old and young woman before leaving the scene with Nima.
“That was a mess.” Joel commented.
Nima hummed in response.
She had no idea what came over her, but as soon as the lady appeared, she wanted Joel away from there.
‘That’s not healthy.’ She reproached herself.
She had never liked clingy characters in all the books she had read and to realize she actually had the same trait irked her.
This is a man she just wanted to satisfy her sexual curiosity with. She shouldn’t get too attached.
“I’m sorry about that, Nima. I should have given it a thought before trying to help. Also, sorry to leave you sitting alone.” Joel apologized.
Nima decided to be herself and just enjoyed the night.
She looked up to smile at him and saw his expression change.
He stared at her in awe for a few seconds before his tongue swept over his lower lips, and he muttered something under his breath that Nima failed to catch.
‘Angel, you are making this night difficult for me.’ He thought.
“You are looking sinfully gorgeous. God!”
Nima’s heart fluttered at the way he looked at her and how raspy his voice sounded. She was quick to avert her gaze and tuck some of her front hair behind her right ear.
Joel swallowed hard before blinking off the distraction.
He felt that once he had her heart, everything would be his to devour.
Like a mantra, he repeatedly reminds himself not to lose his sense of reasoning.
“Come on, angel, it’s getting late.” Nima heard him say, and her heart race increased its pace.
‘It’s time.’ She thought.
Although unsure if she’s doing the right thing by having a one night stand, Joel has messed up her reasoning to the point that she couldn’t wait to have him all over her.
She liked how tender his attitude was towards, while his eyes seductively devoured her.
