Chapter 39 The Child Was Louis's
"It's just to deliver some wine. What's with her nagging?" Blanche complained inwardly and walked toward the balcony.
However, as she approached the balcony, she overheard the conversation on it.
"Just focus on taking care of the baby. Don't worry about the money. Your unborn child is important and cannot have any accidents." It was like a bolt out of the blue for Blanche. Without a doubt, it was Louis's voice.
"The child is healthy. It's been kicking me hard lately. Even if its father can't be here with us now, I understand and will take good care of this baby."
"What is going on?" Blanche wondered, and her mind was a mess. She took a step forward and saw a slightly plump woman in a bright red dress with wavy hair.
Blanche wasn't in the habit of eavesdropping on conversations, so she made her footsteps heavier and came to the balcony.
The two turned their heads when they heard her footsteps.
Blanche straightened, looking at Louis, and then at that woman. The woman's belly had swelled with the baby being at least several months old.
The woman's eyes were full of surprise with the corners of her eyes still moist when she saw Blanche.
Wiping her eyes, the woman nodded at Louis. "I'll leave first."
Then, the woman lowered her head and walked past Blanche. Blanche looked at Louis with a questioning gaze and then turned her head to look at the thin back of the woman as the woman left.
Blanche thought to herself, "Could someone please tell me what is going on? Louis just said that the woman should take care of the baby and that the child could not have any accidents. Is the child Louis's?"
"Why did you come here?" Louis asked. Judging from his tone, he didn't seem to intend to explain what had just happened.
"It seems like I shouldn't have come. If your mom hadn't asked me to bring you wine, I wouldn't have seen such an exciting scene." Blanche murmured to herself, wondering if Tammy or Cathy had asked her to deliver the wine and if they just wanted her to hear this conversation.
Cathy must have known that Louis and the woman had been talking on the balcony, and even knew about their relationship.
Blanche believed that Cathy asked her to come here just to disgust her.
Louis reached out to take the wine from Blanche's hand, but Blanche held onto the glass and hesitated to let go.
"Who's that woman? Is she carrying your child?" she questioned.
Louis snatched the wine, and his eyebrows creased as he heard Blanche's words. "Does she think the woman is pregnant with my child?" he wondered.
"You heard everything just now, didn't you?" he asked.
Upon hearing that, Blanche thought he admitted it.
Blanche felt a slap in her face and thought to herself, "Holy crap! What the h*ll is going on? I've only been married for a few days, and Louis has already impregnated a woman, and the child is already several months old."
She walked to the railing with a slight frown, and her fingers dug into the marble carving. Inwardly, she cursed, "You son of a bi*ch, Louis! How dare you cheat on me!"
"Are you going to let her give birth to the baby?" asked Blanche.
"Sure thing. You didn't mishear," responded Louis.
He thought to himself, "This silly woman really thinks the child is mine, and her frown looks like a caterpillar."
Suddenly, Louis became interested in teasing the silly woman who usually liked to piss him off.
"Why didn't you tell me that you already had a baby before we got married?" Blanche asked.
"Are you sure I didn't tell Nicole? Or did she not tell you?"
Blanche was taken aback and wondered if this was the reason why Nicole didn't want to marry Louis.
"It seems that she really didn't tell you. Think about it. I'm so rich and powerful. How can a daughter of the Kent family be good enough for me? If it wasn't for some reason, why else would I choose to marry someone from the Kent family?" Louis took a sip of wine and added fuel o the fire. From NôvelDrama.Org.
Blanche bit her lip and glared at him.
"But you were disabled at that time. It could be the main reason. Who would want to marry a disabled person?"
She spoke with gritted teeth and anger in her eyes. Louis felt like he hadn't had this much fun for a long time.
"Don't be so sure. You wanted to, didn't you?" he teased.
Blanche lowered her head. "I didn't want to, either. Whether you believe it or not, I never wanted to marry you."
"Oh, really? Who would admit it after doing evils? But judging by your tone, are you worried that my child will fight for my inheritance in the future after you're aware of his existence?"
Louis spoke in a tone that suggested he didn't believe her, which made Blanche feel upset and angry. She yelled inwardly, "Does he really think everyone is so money-minded? I just feel embarrassed after knowing about this child suddenly."
Blanche snapped, "Come on! I don't even care about your inheritance. Tell me! Does everyone at this banquet know the woman was pregnant with your child and that I'm being cuckolded? Man! It's so humiliating."
