Chapter 89
Some hotel guests started crowding in the lobby to watch the drama.
“Ms Beckett, please calm down. You’ll ruin your reputation if you keep causing trouble here. Why don’t we discuss this matter in the parlor?”
The front desk manager was so nervous that he kept sweating profusely. At the same time, he did
his best to convince Betty to calm down.
“If your employee has the guts to steal from a VIP like me, doesn’t that mean she’ll do worse
things to the other guests?”
Betty slammed a hand on the marble counter. Then, she placed her other hand on her hip. She
kept glaring at the manager furiously the whole time.
The crowd exchanged looks with each other. Some of them obviously recognized Betty.
They knew that she was a daughter of the Beckett family. But if they didn’t look at her face, they
would have thought it was a shrew causing trouble for the hotel.
“I–I didn’t steal anything!” the housekeeper stammered timidly with her head bowed.
“How dare you talk back to me!”
Betty jabbed a scarlet, manicured finger at the housekeeper’s face. If it wasn’t for the manager protecting the housekeeper’s eyes, Betty would’ve stabbed them.
“I left my necklace on the sink! How could it vanish on its own?”
“It’s true that I cleaned the suite, but I wasn’t the only one there!” The housekeeper looked pale,
but she refused to give in
“What do you mean? Are you suspecting us right now?” One of Betty’s friends looked furious. Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
“We’re all VIPs here! A necklace is worth nothing to us! Only poor commoners like you will
commit such a crime!” the other friend added
“Heh! It turns out that the Taylor Group’s hotel isn’t as good as I thought. After all, their service is a lot shittier compared to the Beckett Group’s hotel. Perhaps this hotel is just a front for a money- laundering service.”
Betty started mocking the manager with her arms folded in front of her chest.
At that moment, the manager’s expression had already gone stormy.
The guests checking into KS World Hotel were usually polite and respectful. It had been a long
time since the manager last saw someone as rude and unreasonable as Betty.
“Ms Beckett, it’s inappropriate of you to slander KS World Hotel’s reputation and humiliate my employee After all, we have yet to investigate this matter and uncover the truth.”
The newcomer’s cool voice was very pleasing to the ears.
Everyone was surprised upon hearing the voice. They turned around at the same time, only to see a beautiful woman in a white suit.
Alyssa walked toward Betty and the manager with a stoic expression. The way she strutted made her seem even more domineering.
Betty’s friends were stunned by what they saw.
“Why are you here?” Betty looked shocked as well. But she soon eyed Alyssa up and down in
disgust.
Alyssa’s suit was personally tailored for her. Her high heels came from a luxury brand too. Even
her sapphire earrings, which sparkled under the light, looked expensive. Overall, Alyssa’s current
attire made her look like she was also an heiress.
The crowd stared at Alyssa in surprise. Where did she come from? Her beauty was breathtaking,
to say the least.
Meanwhile, Betty looked like an ugly hag when standing beside Alyssa.
At that moment, Jasper and Xavier walked into the hotel lobby.
He noticed his ex–wife, who had gone missing for almost a week, was there. His heart skipped a
beat while his eyes glinted in delight.
Jasper stared at the beautiful woman as though he was under a spell.
“Mr. Beckett, that’s Madam Alice!”
Xavier looked very excited at first. But his expression soon changed. “Huh? Ms. Betty is there as well. There’s a crowd around her and Madam Alice. Did something happen?”
Jasper had a bad feeling when he noticed Betty in the lobby. He was about to approach them
when he suddenly stopped in his tracks.
“Hold on Let’s observe the situation first.”
When the housekeeper saw Alyssa arriving at the scene, she felt so upset that she burst into tears.
**M–Ms. Alyssa…”
“Oh? So you’re the manager of this hotel, huh? That’s unexpected.” Betty’s lips curled into a smirk.
“Is that so? I never felt that way. In fact, my life is a lot better than before.”
Alyssa cocked an eyebrow in response. Even though she was barely smiling, her beauty was enough to enchant everyone. “At least I’m living like an actual human being now.”
Her words drifted into Jasper’s ear.
His throat tightened slightly in response. All he felt was frustration.
What did that woman mean by that? Was she complaining about the life she led during the three- year marriage?
