Chapter 42 The Scandal
Chapter 42 The Scandal
People in the office came one after another. I sat there alone and felt a little embarrassed. Finally,
someone dared to come up and ask me, "Excuse me, are you a newcomer?"
I was about to reply when Gavin came in from outside. He saw us talking, and said, "I was just about to
announce, and you are already chatting up. This is Darcey, the new human resources director. You get
to know each other well, and then I'll send someone if there is anything." Before turning, he took a look
at me, which was caught by me. I felt my heart beating like a drum, afraid of being discovered.
After Gavin left, all the people in the office were stunned, as if they had not reacted this news. My heart
sank. I immediately understood that the other people in the office had just learnt about the news of my
coming to work.
The first girl who spoke to me just now thought for a moment and said, "Miss. Back, hello, I am Heidi.
Nice to meet you."
I quickly said, "You don't have to be so polite. You should be a few years younger than me. If you don't
mind, you can call me Darcey. And everyone, you don't have to be courteous. Nice to meet you."
After that, I didn't say much. I looked through the documents on the human resources in the company.
My reading speed was not bad. Half a day, I had already got a rough idea of the personal relations.
Tuman resources staffs here were all smart people. Before noon, everyone was making out with me,
and Heidi called me sister Darcey and asked me to go to dinner with them. I thought about it and
refused. This morning I was very nervous, not hungry at all. Now let me relax all alone.
Everyone in the office is quite easy to get along with. Except for one man about my age, Leonardo. It's
a lovely name, but I don't know why, although he showed some respect to me, but I had a strange
feeling like I owed him money.
After a long rest, I got up and went to the pantry to get some water. Outside, I heard the voice of a girl
whispering. I overheard my own name. So I was curious and wanted to hear more.
Although I knew it was not good, I had to first know what my first impression was for everyone.
A young woman said, "Have you seen Leonardo's state this morning? His face is almost falling. He is
also an expert in chatting and pretending to be familiar with everyone."
"Does he dare to pretend today? She is sent by Mr. Stone. He is afraid that he can't flatter her!" Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
"This is also the reason why Leonardo is not feeling well. In our department, he is the most
experienced person. Originally, this director's position was empty for a long time. Everyone thought that
it would be him. Unexpectedly, this cooked duck family was intercepted halfway."
"You're right. There is nothing special about the new comer. She probably has some means to get this
position."
"What means, it's because of Mr. Stone!"
"Really? I can't tell. She doesn't look like that kind of woman!"
"Listen to me......"
At this point, I was not interested in what they talk next, let alone who was gossiping. I sat in the
distance for a while, and when the men had finally finished I went in to get the water.
When I returned to my office, I didn't say anything to the others and continued to read my profile. In the
end, I sorted out a more concise and intuitive document and sent someone to give it to Gavin. The day
was almost over.
