My phone rang at the office, checking the call, it was from a strange number,” Who could this be?”

I ignored the call and continued what I was doing but the person continued calling.

I finally picked that was when I heard a familiar voice, “Brenda” My heart skips a beat for I know this call might be about Bella.

“What is happening?” I asked on the phone.

“Your mom just came back and very angry at Bella for breaking the plates. She will do the maid custom to her for we all signed it,” She said with fear in her voice.

“Damn it, I thought mom has forgotten about that old-style punishment, she is going to flog her 15 strokes and report to her family” I ended the call.

“What must I do to save Bella from pains? I should call Theo.”

Lisa and I just finished a spicy meal and we just laid on the ground looking above the sky.

“Her coming alone already showed me the danger sign of red before I got home” I added.

“Well I’m happy your boss’s friend yelled at her, wonder how her look might be in fear but your mom hitting you for her is totally out of the whole thing” she added.

“I remember how you cried during Christmas when you don’t receive a present, or eat your favourite pizza” she added.

Getting home, I noticed dad was back, I welcomed him and he answered.

He came with lots of goodies and presented some to mom and my sister, I was patiently waiting for mine but got nothing.

“Daddy you didn’t get anything for me”, I said with a broken heart.

“Oh, my credit card stopped working when it was time for yours but I easily brought for you expired canned food.”

I felt a sharp blade cutting my heart and my sister said, “See, I’m more special in this house, I can’t wait to show my friends, don’t forget to wash my clothes before you go to work tomorrow, trash.” She spoke rudely to me.

I entered my room and buried my face in tears, I have always wished to have a happy family, a mother I can cry to and get comfort.

A father that will protect me always and nag me about getting a boyfriend, it’s so unfair.

I sobbed bitterly till I fell asleep seeing the imagination of Kyle saying, “Stop crying and get some sleep, I want to see a pretty face tomorrow and not a pale face.” I nodded wiping off my tears and falling asleep.

I got to work so excited expecting to see Kyle but unlickily for me, he had gone to work.

Brenda noticed my happiness despite how I tried hiding it.

We heard the sound of a car and the alarm bell, “Oh Mrs Wilson is back.” Brenda said.

“That’s good news.”, I said.

“Oh can’t believe you are this dumb, some of the maids are jealous of you and Kyle, it was obvious, they will tell her about the special plate you broke and want to mock during her custom of punishment for you.”

“Now, am carrying out my custom.” I know my life has ended today, I will face pain here and face another one at home.
