Beyond the Divorce

Chapter 1162 The Mysterious Notebook

I quickly entered their dressing room, which was neatly arranged with no clutter or signs of any books brought back.

I searched around hastily and then hurriedly left the dressing room. Time didn't allow me to continue searching. I needed to find my mom and ask her what my dad brought home. Exiting their room, I rushed to Rose's room since they were probably together.

I indeed found my mom with Rose, organizing something.

I immediately asked, "Mom! When you and Dad returned from Bibury, did you bring back any books?"

My mom turned to look at me, hesitatingly asking, "Why did you come back so early today? How's Oliver?"

"He's stabilized. He's out of intensive care now, and things seem to be fine. He just needs some rest," I responded absentmindedly. My mind was focused on the question I needed to ask her.

"Thank goodness. We were just discussing this matter with Mrs. Rose," my mom mumbled.

Anxious, I pressed on, "Mom? Did you bring back some books from Bibury?"

"Why are you suddenly asking about this?" My mom looked at me with skepticism. "Your dad didn't bring any books with him. He was determined this time. Those chemistry books he had were all given away. Why do you ask?" My mom scrutinized me.

"Are you sure Dad didn't bring anything back?" I questioned again.

My mom walked closer to me. "Chlo, what's going on? What are you looking for?"

"It's nothing. I just wanted to ask what you brought back when you returned. It suddenly crossed my mind, so I thought I'd ask," I replied, concealing my urgency.

"We didn't bring anything back. Besides buying a lot of mushrooms and other delicacies for Mrs. Rose, there was nothing else," my mom said, her eyes fixed on my face.

"Oh, then it's okay. What are you

both doing?" I asked

it was on fire.

Eight hours. They only gave us eight hours.

Rose walked over, "Packing some of my clothes. Didn't you go to the office today?"

"I just came back from the office. I have to leave on a business trip, so I came back to let you know." I finally found an excuse. "I was afraid that if I left, Dad might forget to pick up any important things. You know my dad, he treasures his books and notebooks." Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

Rose nodded calmly. "Then, quickly pack up. Arnold just came back a while ago." "Arnold is back?" I was a bit surprised.

After we returned, Arnold stayed in Gerby. He said he had some matters to assist Sean with and could also help Beatrice. Unexpectedly, be

came back in just two days.

"I'll be leaving then," I said anxiously.

I went back to my room, grabbed a couple of changes of clothes, and went to the study to find Atlas.

I saw Atlas on the phone. Arnold was there too.

He saw me come in, said a few more words on the phone, then hung up and looked at me. "Didn't find anything?"

"My mom said they didn't bring anything back." I was a bit anxious. "What should we do?"

Atlas pondered for a moment and then said firmly, "There's no time left. We need to leave."

Then he looked at Arnold, gave a few instructions, and reached out to pull me away.

I was a bit uncertain and asked him, "Can we go without the notebook?"
