Chapter 94
Chapter 94
After lunch with Eduard, Mikayla returned to Dragoncrest Villa Carrying the items she had bought the other day, she entered the living room only to be surprised by an unexpected visitor–Aubrey Saunders
Aubrey sat leisurely with crossed legs, casually flipping through magazines while sipping on a cup of freshly brewed tea. She had made herself right at home in Mikayla’s space
As Mikayla entered, Amy informed her, “Ms. Saunders insisted on waiting for your return, Madam”
Aubrey glanced up from her magazine upon noticing Mikayla’s presence. With a cheerful greeting, she exclaimed. “You’re finally back, Kay! I’ve been waiting forever.” Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.
Mikayla directed Amy to attend to her duties before turning her attention to Aubrey. “What are you doing
here?”
Aubrey was upset by her rude tone. Still, she said, “Okay, let’s stop this. How much longer do you plan to
stay upset?
“I only wanted to teach Kylie a lesson for your sake! I’m not asking for thanks, but you don’t have to talk to
me like that
“Whatever, I heard you’re going to the Miller Group’s banquet tonight. Lets go to the salon, we’ll get a makeover and pick out a dress for the evening
“I don’t see any reason to join you”
Mikayla placed her belongings on the sofa and added coldly, “I thought we agreed not to meet again? The
door’s over there.”
Aubrey was fuming with anger, but then she caught sight of Mikayla’s evening dress. She let out a
surprised squeal.
“Oh my god! Is that the latest Gucci dress? I’ve been wanting one!
“Can I have it, Kay? This saves me the trouble of picking one out!”
As she was about to try the dress on, Mikayla snatched it back and stated coldly, “Buy it yourself. This is
my dress. Why would I give it to you?”
Aubrey looked at her with confusion. “When did you become so stingy, Kay? You used to give me
whatever I wanted!”
In the past, Mikayla cherished her friendship with Aubrey and often gave her anything she desired, even if it was something Mikayla loved.
Now, Mikayla felt it was more worthwhile to use the dress as a rag than hand it over to Aubrey.
“Dignity is a good thing, but yours is out of this world,” Mikayla remarked, picking up her belongings and heading upstairs.
However, Aubrey blocked her path with a cold gaze.
Are you ending things, Kay? Have you forgotten who was there for you whenever you were left alone? Who helped you go after Jerome when you couldn’t do it yourself?
“And now, you’re just flipping out like this? What gives?” she rebuked.
At that, Mikayla burst into laughter. “Look at you, all high and mighty.
“To those who know us, they might remember when you used to be my best friend. If they didn’t know
better, they might see you as my creditor!
“Sure, you’ve been around for a while, taking advantage of everything.
“Don’t even get me started on the deals between Saunders and the Davidsons. Whenever we went out, I
was the one paying. Whatever you wanted, I gave it to you.
*You know the best whether you were helping or causing trouble for me during that matter with Jerome. I don’t care about your past actions, but you’re not welcome here. Get out, and stop bothering me!”
Aubrey’s face went from pale to red when she heard the harsh words. She glared back and shouted, “So,
that’s what you think of me. I guess I was dumb for trusting you so much!”
With that, Aubrey snatched her handbag and stormed out of the villa.
As Mikayla made her way back to her room, a knowing smirk played on her lips.
She mused that you could never give your heart entirely, whether it was to a lover or a friend. They’d treat your kindness as a given and criticize you when you decide to pull back.
Returning to her room, Mikayla stored the gold in the safe and hung up her evening dress. After that, she wrapped Wanda’s perfume in a nice package, planning to give it to her on her birthday.
Throughout the afternoon, Mikayla chatted with Betty on WhatsApp until she realized it was almost time for the banquet.
She swiftly ended the chat and headed to the dressing room to change into her evening dress, leaving her phone on the table next to the standing mirror.
As she was taking off her clothes, her phone suddenly rang. She cast a glance at her phone and saw
Jerome’s name on the screen.
“He really has terrible timing. How am I supposed to take a video call when I’m changing?” she muttered
to herself.
Without a second thought, she hit the reject button before continuing to undress. Standing bare, she fetched the gown from the closet, and tried it on in front of the mirror.
Upon turning around, she discovered her phone screen was lit, and her expression changed instantly.
