Jerome’s dark eyes bore a hint of distance. He even furrowed his brow in
response.

“After all, it was my fault, Jerome. If there’s punishment or blame to be given, I’ll take full responsibility.”

He spoke sternly, “There’s no room for errors in this issue. Investigate Johnny

With Mikayla stirring up more trouble, Jerome doubted he’d have the energy to

“Mrs. Miller’s resting in her room, sir.”

As Amy finished making the tea, Jerome fell asleep on the couch. He was
clutching his head. He looked utterly exhausted, with his brow furrowed.
Amy said softly, “Sir, the tea’s ready.”

After contemplating for a while, Amy knocked on Mikayla’s door.
“Who is it?”
Mikayla’s cautious voice resonated from within the room.
“It’s me, madam.”
Mikayla opened the door in her pajamas.
“What’s the matter, Mrs. Amy?”
“Mr. Miller’s downstairs, and he fell asleep on the couch. It’s easy to catch a cold since the nights get chilly. Do you think you could ask him to return to his
room to rest, madam?”
Amy could tell that Jerome and Mikayla’s relationship had improved lately. After all, Jerome still asked about Mikayla despite being fatigued.
