Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 275

Chapter 275

Eduard had wamed Stephen about this, and it completely slipped Mikayla’s mind because she had been

with Eduard in Lakeville for the past few days.

Was this the deal from the Saunders family?

Mikayla sprang up from her seat and said to Louisa, “I’ll talk about your issue later. I have to find Uncle

Stephen.”

She found him shortly after. He was engrossed in conversation with some of the Miller relatives with a

triumphant expression on his face.

Mikayla mumbled an apology before she dragged Stephen aside.

“Mikayla, what are you doing? That’s highly inappropriate.” Stephen looked upset.

Mikayla asked, “Did the Saunders family introduce you to a huge deal lately?”

A wide grin broke on Stephen’s face. “Why? Have you heard of it as well?”

*Mr. Saunders was so kind! He didn’t forget our hospitality toward his family, so he referred the deal to us.

“Are you still discussing the deal, or have you signed the contract?” Mikayla asked hastily.

“We’ve agreed on all the terms. We’ll sign the contract tomorrow.”

Mikayla heaved a sigh of relief. “Uncle Stephen, don’t you find it strange that they agreed to the terms so quickly for such a huge deal?”

Stephen scowled at her. “What are you implying? I don’t see anything strange with it. They seem sincere, and Mr. Saunders is my friend. Of course, things will progress quickly.”

Maintaining her composure, Mikayla explained, “Uncle Stephen, I’m not trying to doubt you. I just recall seeing a similar situation on the news, and it didn’t turn out well for that company. Something big happened when the deal was closed, and it even caused the company to go bankrupt.”

Stephen grew suspicious. “Really?”

“I have shares in Minito. Of course, I wouldn’t want things to go wrong. Uncle Stephen, can you let the secretary send me a copy of the contract? I’ll get a professional to analyze it.”

Mikayla continued in a persuasive tone, “Since you’ve already decided to sign the contract, it doesn’t hurt to let me have a peek, right? I can point out some issues if there are any. If you disagree with me, you can just ignore my advice.”

Stephen seemed convinced. He finally agreed to her suggestion, so she was reassured for now.

Louisa scoffed. “Don’t you have his contact? Why don’t you ask him Instead?”

Mikayla warned her, “Watch your words if you need a favor from me. I don’t owe you anything.”

Struggling to maintain her composure, Louisa told Mikayla that Jensen texted her daily, yet he hadn’t. shown up these few days. He was busy because he was occupied with work lately.

“Oh yeah, you were saying that Uncle Stephen and Aunt Matilda were overjoyed about something?” Mikayla inquired.

Louisa said that someone referred them to a spice deal, and Minito Group’s revenue would skyrocket once this deal was closed.

Mikayla’s heart skipped a beat. She suddenly remembered the huge deal Aubrey mentioned.

tables. Lights were hung in the garden, which Illuminated the tables laden with various delicacies.

Zachary thanked the guests in Wanda’s stead and invited her on stage to cut the cake. After a simple ceremony, Mikayla helped her to her seat. She insisted on Mikayla sitting next to her.

Aside from Zachary, Jerome, and other Miller relatives, Wanda took the initiative to invite Stephen and his family over to their table as well.

“We don’t usually have the opportunity to dine together. Dig In, everyone!”

Stephen’s and Matilda’s presence livened up the atmosphere. Some guests came over to give Wanda a toast, but Jerome drank on behalf of her instead.

“Jerome, you shouldn’t drink so much!” Matilda chided after Jerome downed another glass of wine.

“You’ve been married to Mikayla for more than a year. I presume that you’ve had enough fun, so it’s about time for you to begin planning for a child!

“You have to stay away from alcohol now. What do you say, Zachary?”
