Chapter 270
Chapter 270
Kylie chanced a glance at Jerome.
She crooned, “We have to be more conscious now, no matter how close we are. Jerome’s married now, and I don’t want to upset Mrs. Miller.”
“You’re getting upset over this? I didn’t expect you to be that Inconsiderate,” Zachary snapped, scowling at
Mikayla.
“This has nothing to do with Mikayla,” Jerome said before Mikayla could say anything. “I wanted this.”
Zachary was visibly displeased. “You’re distancing your childhood friend for the sake of a woman. Aren’t you worried that you’ll upset Carter?”
Jerome replied indifferently. “It’s just a matter of how she addresses me. You’re clearly exaggerating.
“Yeah, Zachary. Don’t blame Jerome. Nothing’s going to change between us,” Kylie chimed in.
Mikayla saw right through Kylie’s intention. She brought this up on purpose, attempting to goad her into an
argument.
Mikayla scoffed.
Without skipping a beat, she said, “Mr. Zachary, I don’t mind how Ms. White addresses Jerome. Perhaps you’re unaware of this, but Jerome and I are going to file a divorce soon. You don’t have to sympathize with Ms. White, since she’d probably fit as your new daughter–in–law. I’m sure you’ll be thrilled.”
She didn’t bother to show any courtesy since she was about to be divorced with Jerome. She strode off instantly, unfazed by Zachary’s reaction.
“What kind of attitude is that?” Zachary bellowed. “How dare she act so arrogant when I’ve hardly said anything to her?” Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

“I’ll go check on her,” Jerome calmly said.
Zachary stopped him. “What about the divorce she mentioned earlier?”
Jerome stared back at him and answered, “We had a fight recently, so she just said it to spite me.”
“I don’t think she said it out of spite! Look how disrespectful she was earlier!” Zachary said.
“Father,” Jerome interrupted sarcastically. “If you want to be respected, you’ll have to earn it.”
Zachary felt like he’d been stabbed. “Are you implying that I disrespected her? As her father–in–law, don’t I have the right to discipline her?”
“Zachary, don’t be mad,” Kylie chimed in, easing their tension. “Jerome’s a bit harsh because he’s worried about Mikayla. Don’t be angry at him over this.”
“Kylie, why are you siding with them? Carter told me that you’ve been suffering because of Mikayla. Don’t you hold any grudges against her at all?” Zachary questioned.
Kylle’s gaze flitted to Jerome, who looked nonchalant.
She admitted, “I do feel quite upset at times, but I know Mikayla cards a lot about Jerome: She’s been pampered by her family since she was young, that’s why she might be quite impulelve at certain times, I don’t actually resent her.”
“Look at your You can’t even educate your wife, and she’s cousing Kylle so much trouble! Man up!” Zachary scolded.
Jerome calmly rebuked, “You’re a manly man, but your wife hardly cares about you.”
“Why, you!” Zachary was at a loss for words.
“If you’ll excuse me.” Jerome swiftly left for Mikayla.
Kylie’s smile faltered as she watched him leave.
From the way he defended Mikayla, she could tell he didn’t resent Mikayla for the drug allergy incident. In fact, it seemed like he cared for her even more.
Didn’t Mikayla get upset over it back then? Why didn’t she have a fight over it with him?
They literally showed up at Wanda’s birthday banquet with their arms linked, looking perfectly intimate.
“Is this the outcome after having returned to the country for so long?” Zachary coldly asked.
