Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 266

Chapter 266

Jerome shook his head.

He had already found a reasonable excuse to explain to Wanda about Mikayla and the driver’s

whereabouts.

The birthday banquet won’t start until the afternoon. I just called Grandma and told her I’ll be going over later,” Jerome said. “They need to take your statement at the police station. I’ll accompany you there later.

“Okay.” Mikayla finally felt relieved. Thankfully, Eduard and Wanda weren’t aware about this. Otherwise, they would be worried.

“Could you help me get some clothes? I’ll take a quick shower, then we can go to the police station.” Despite her embarrassedly questioning him earlier, Mikayla was now calm and showed no concern or whatsoever about going to the police station.

Jerome couldn’t help but ask, “Is there anything else you want to say about last night?”

“What else is there to say?” Mikayla countered. “Johnny has been caught, and neither Grandpa or Grandma knows about it. Isn’t that good enough?*

“So, the reason you’ve been insisting on getting a divorce was simply because I never had sex with you?”

Jerome asked, puzzled.

So that was what he wanted to talk about.

Mikayla chuckled. “You’re overthinking it. Last night was just an accident. I won’t hold it against you for taking advantage of me in a moment of crisis. We’re even now. After Grandma’s birthday is over today, we’ll go get the divorce certificate tomorrow.”

“Enough!” Jerome was furious. “Last night, you were resistant when you heard about divorce. But as soon as you wake up, it’s like you’re a completely different person.” Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.

It’s just that she had figured things out..

“You can think of it as me being a different person. But it’s strange, isn’t it? I’m the one who was taken advantage of, yet you seem so angry,” Mikayla retorted.

“Is this just a matter of taking advantage or being taken advantage of?” Jerome asked coldly.

“What else?” Mikayla countered.

Jerome gritted his teeth. “Are you saying that regardless of who it was last night, you still would’ve been taken advantage of?”

Mikayla spoke honestly, “I can’t give you an answer to something that didn’t happen.”

Perhaps, even in her hallucination, she could still discern Jerome. Or perhaps, she would mistake anyone

for Jerome.

“I can’t control my consciousness. I don’t know how I’ll react. But rest assured, even if I cheated on you, ! won’t talk about it. Let’s just keep this a secret and get divorced,” she said.

He could rest assured, huh? Jerome was on the verge of swearing. He felt that he was just a tool to her

Just then, his phone rang. Jerome went out to the balcony again.

Mikayla sneered and saw a towel at the foot of the bed. She grabbed it and wrapped herself with it.

As she was ready to get out of bed, she felt her legs give way, and her ankles were aching.

Jerome had not taken it easy on her.

She frowned and leaned against the wall. She slowly made her way to the bathroom.

After taking a few steps, her body suddenly felt light. Jerome lifted her up.

“Ah!” Mikayla let out a cry of surprise.

She didn’t know when Jerome had returned to the room, but he was carrying her now.

The towel she had wrapped around herself had come loose, revealing her legs.

Jerome’s gaze was fixated on her legs with burning desire.

“Where are you looking at? Put me down!” Mikayla clutched the towel tightly and shouted in embarrassment.

Jerome’s gaze was mysterious. “At this rate, it’ll take you half an hour just to reach the bathroom.”

How dare he complain about her being slow? Who caused this in the first place?

Mikayla gave up reasoning with him knowing it would be difficult to persuade Jerome. She allowed him to carry her into the bathroom in embarrassment.

As soon as Mikayla landed on the ground, Jerome asked in a husky voice, “Can you manage on your own, or do you need my help?”
