Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 158

Chapter 158

Mikayla tousled her hair confidently and said, “Well, isn’t that right? Aren’t I just the coolest?

Michael couldn’t help but be amused by Mikayla’s antics.

He nodded repeatedly and flattered her.

“You’re so cool! You’re just like a professional drummer!”

“Young man, you’ve got good taste!” Mikayla patted Michael’s arm playfully. “Come on, let

me treat you to a drink!” This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.

“Miss, and us too! We want drinks too!” The band members chimed in excitedly and followed along.

Mikayla felt delighted as she waved her hand generously.

of course, everyone will a

their drinks! Let’s all drink together!”

The group surrounded Mikayla and settled into a spacious booth, ordering plenty of snacks

and drinks while complimenting her.

“Miss, I didn’t expect you to play the drums like a pro!”

“Exactly! The way you twirled the drumstick was so cool. Why don’t you join our band?”

Kenny suggested, “Wilson and you should play the drums together. It would be amazing!”

“Yeah, I agree! If she joins us, I’m sure she’ll be more popular than Michael!”

“That’s for sure. I can’t compete with her.” Michael chimed in with a laugh.

Seeing the enthusiastic and youthful faces around her, Mikayla felt a surge of passion

herself.

The last time she played the drums so freely was at a freshmen party in college.

She received many compliments from her classmates, and even a renowned music

teacher had offered to mentor her.

However, fearing that Jerome would disapprove of her, she let the opportunity slip away.

Later, several of the teacher’s students achieved success in the music industry.

If she hadn’t refused, perhaps she would have been one of them.

“I know you all really want me to join your band, but I’m sorry. I already have my career plans. Unfortunately, I’ve to let you all down.”

Mikayla purposefully acted cold and shook her head, causing everyone to exclaim in regret and disappointment.

After that, they all laughed together.

“Come on, let’s make a toast to Miss!”

Kenny and the others raised their glasses.

Mikayla didn’t want to spoil the fun, so she lifted her glass and shouted, “Cheers!”

After several rounds of drinks, Michael became worried that Mikayla might get drunk and stopped everyone from toasting her.

The band members, fueled by alcohol, went back onstage to perform.

Michael looked at Mikayla with concern and asked, “Miss, are you okay?”

“How could I not be?” Mikayla smiled at Michael and said, “Micheal, thank you. I’m feeling very happy right now.”

Looking at Mikayla’s eyes shimmering with joy and laughter, Michael couldn’t help but

avert his eyes away.

As he handed her a glass of water, he said earnestly, “You can come here as often as you like. Or, you can consider Kenny’s suggestion and join us.”

Michael continued, “Your sense of music and rhythm are excellent. With a little bit of practice, you can surpass any professional drummer.”

Mikayla took a sip of water and smiled.

“Thank you for thinking so highly of me, but my dreams are already over. That’s for the rest of you to pursue. I’ll just join in occasionally.”

Perhaps if she had met them a few years earlier, she would’ve considered it.

Now, her life was filled with worldly concerns and scheming plots.

She couldn’t love music as genuinely as they did anymore.

Later, Mikayla chatted and played some drinking games with the band members.

Time flew by quickly.

“Miss, your phone is ringing!”

Someone reminded Mikayla as she was playing rock–paper–scissors with Kenny.

She took out her phone.

It was Amy.

“Amy, what’s the matter?” Mikayla asked.

Perhaps it was too noisy from her side.

Amy hesitated for a moment before asking cautiously, “Madam, where are you? It’s quite noisy over there.”
