Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 147

Chapter 147

Jerome’s reasons were quite logical.

Mikayla smiled. “It doesn’t matter. It’s not a hassle to sign some documents. Besides, there are many women who aspire to be Mrs. Miller.”

She didn’t mention Kylie, lest he assume that she was deliberately causing trouble for her.

“I believe your new wife will treat Grandma better than I do, so Grandma won’t be unhappy.”

Although Wanda loved her, it was also because of her status as the granddaughter–in–law, Mikayla knew this very well.

Jerome was speechless for a moment.

“Mikayla, what is it about this marriage that makes you suddenly so dissatisfied that your have to rush to get out of it?”

When he had failed to accompany her on the fifth anniversary of their relationship, he had asked her to buy herself a gift to make up for it. She had thought that he didn’t return home often enough, so he had recently tried to go back whenever he could.

He had also moved his clothes to the closet for her to match their outfits, and he had even moved into the master bedroom to sleep with her.

All of these were what Mikayla had requested, and he had fulfilled them. So, why did she still seem dissatisfied? This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.

Faced with his question, she smiled and said, “You don’t understand why I’m dissatisfied. That’s my biggest dissatisfaction.”

Jerome was at a loss for words. He decided not to waste any more time with Mikayla and

started eating.

He thought that the meal was bland, but Mikayla still ate well. She ate a lot of meat, drank more soup, and even finished a bowl of unsweetened oatmeal.

After eating, she patted her belly and said, “Amy, I’m going out for a walk!”

Then, she casually put on a long coat and headed outside.

It was getting dark. The street lights were already on.

The estate was attractively manicured, with well–maintained lawns and trees everywhere.

There was also a small lake not far away.

Mikayla strolled around while admiring the scenery.

When she was walking in a somewhat quiet area by the lake, two men in black peaked caps suddenly blocked her path.

“What do you want?” Mikayla asked, stepping back warily.

Suddenly, she remembered that she had sensed someone watching her outside the gym. It should be them.

“Ms. Davidson, someone sent us here to warn you to mind your own business in the future. Otherwise, you’ll regret it!” one of the men threatened her viciously with a rough voice.

“Who are you? Did Johnny send you here?”

After all, the only “business” that she had been involved in lately was related to Ansoft.

Betty had mentioned that Johnny had tried to start a liquor distillery business to compete with Ansoft. However, Ansoft had been in the limelight recently, so he couldn’t do much, even if he wanted to play dirty tricks.

Did he want to use her to threaten Betty?

“You don’t need to know who sent us here!” the man said viciously. “This is a warning. If you don’t listen, we won’t show you any mercy!”

Seeing the ferocious glints in the two men’s eyes and the bulging shapes of knives in their pockets, Mikayla knew that she couldn’t defeat them.

To avoid suffering, she knew that she shouldn’t anger them at this time.

So, she nodded obediently and said, “I’ll listen to your warning. I won’t meddle in other people’s business in the future.”

“That’s good! At least you’re sensible!”

The other man, who had a sharper voice, said smugly, “Sign here and put your fingerprint on this letter of guarantee, then we’ll let you go!”
