Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 135

Chapter 135

“Where are you going?” Taylor raised his head and spoke domineeringly, “Since you can forget

about that matter, it means it’s not that important. Sit down and order.”

Mikayla had no choice but to sit and accept the menu from the waiter.

While she perused the menu, he said, “I’m going to the restroom.”

She ignored him and ordered a few of her favorite dishes. Regardless of what he intended to do,

she needed to eat first.

After Mikayla finished ordering, Taylor came back.

He picked up the menu, marked a couple of dishes, and handed it to her. “Take it to the kitchen.

Tell them to replace all the dishes in Room No. 1 with these.”

Mikayla examined the menu and noticed they were all cucumber–based–fried cucumber, cucumber salad, cucumber mixed with mushroom, raw cucumber, mustard–pickled cucumber,

and cucumber with eggs.

Mikayla could tell Taylor was attempting to play a prank on someone.

“Mr. Blue, can you tell me what you’re trying to do?”

“Why are you so impatient? It’s not a big deal. I just want to observe their response and gauge

their character. Quit complaining and get a move on!”

She flatly refused, “I won’t go. Why would I change other people’s dishes without reason? Besides,

the kitchen staff won’t listen to me.”

Taylor looked at her. “How can I believe you if you can’t even do this well? Just take it to the kitchen. The staff will follow it. Don’t worry. You’re not working at Mocato Investments yet. Even if the other party gets angry, they’ll just refuse to cooperate with me. There is no loss to you.”

Mikayla reacted quickly, “In that case, why don’t you go by yourself?”

Taylor glanced at her. “Since I asked you to come here, you definitely have to play a role.”

“You want me to take the blame?”

“You’re quite self–aware. Get a move on.”

Mikayla felt speechless, but Taylor was right. It had nothing to do with her if the project went

wrong.

She went to the kitchen and requested the menu change. Surprisingly, the chef agreed without

hesitation.

Returning to the main hall, she noticed Taylor had placed his legs on an empty chair. He sat in a relaxed posture and appeared in a pleasant mood, as if he was expecting something interesting

to happen.

The waiter soon served them their food. She couldn’t understand his intentions and didn’t want to

dwell on it. So, she started eating her meal.

Several people were seated in the elegant room No. 1, where the air was filled with fragrance.

Baldwin Xander, a man in his late 60s, stood at the center, accompanied by two individuals who appeared to be his assistants.

Jerome, who exuded an upright and excellent temperament, sat nearby.

Mike served them tea.

“Professor Xander, the food will be here soon. Let’s enjoy tea first. The tea leaves here are all picked and kneaded by farmers. Mr. Miller knew you enjoyed this flavor, so he specially prepared it for you.

“Mr. Miller, you’re so thoughtful and considerate at such a young age,” remarked Baldwin.

Jerome smiled humbly. “Thanks for your compliments, Professor Xander. I’ve been involved in pharmaceutical research for many years. I prefer simple things.”

Baldwin commented, “The pharmaceutical industry is becoming increasingly challenging. Mr. Miller, it’s unusual for you to think highly of our research projects and come to negotiate with us.”

“Professor Xander, you don’t have to belittle yourself. Your research projects benefit the public. Even though I’m just a businessman, I still want to offer whatever contribution I can.”

As they conversed, a waiter knocked on the door. “Excuse me. The food is here.”
