At the call of the moon

Her soul mate. Her fucking soul mate. Not Jake, but Carter. Lexa’s head started spinning. Oh goddess. She was wrong all along the line. THEY were wrong all along the line. She looked up and met Carter’s eyes, just as hallucinated as she was. Why didn’t he say anything? Maybe he was disappointed? Anguish gripped her throat and a tear rolled down her cheek, which Carter wiped away with a kiss.

He sprinkled her face with kisses. He was delighted. But she… Was she crying because she was disappointed? If so, he would totally understand. They smiled as they approached, and Niella grabbed Lexa, leading her away.

– What has happened ?! I thought that was Jake your mate? Idon’t understand anything .

The blonde shrugged.

A noise caught their attention : Jake was there and had thrown himself on Carter, shouting:

Franklin and Caleb separated them, and as soon as they released Jake, the latter jumped on her, shaking her:

She had tears in her eyes and preferred to let his anger pass , understanding the reason . Suddenly, Carter grabbed Jake’s arm and hissed.

– Don’t put your fucking hands on my mate .

Jake snarled, but knowing he was outnumbered , backed off and walked into the forest , glaring at Lexa. Her heart was completely torn between her joy and the pain of her tattered relationship with Jake. She slid against Carter and hugged him, not taking her eyes off the spot where Jake had disappeared.
