Chapter 54
“Don’t be. I think-. Oh.” Emily pulled her hand out of mine as Rachel returned.
“Is everything settled here?”
“Yes. Let’s head out.”
Rachel raised an eyebrow. “So, he’s a bit of a handful, isn’t he? But I think he’s fun.”
“Just make sure he does what we’re paying him to do.”
“Don’t worry, I will. I’ll go grab our coats and tell the guys it’s time to go.”
As soon as the door closed behind her, I caught Emily around the waist. She twisted in my grasp. “Julian!”
“They’re gone,” I murmured against her cheek. “I couldn’t resist.”
Emily glanced at the door, but it stayed resolutely shut. “Someone might come back.”
“Let them.”
She let out a breathless chuckle and twisted again, but this time to bring us closer together. Heat swept across my body as her perfect breasts were suddenly pressed against my chest. She smelled like floral perfume and sweetness and I wanted her.
“Come over to mine tonight. Spend the night.”
“It’s a weeknight,” she said weakly. “I can’t.”
“Tomorrow night then. It’s a Friday. I’ll cook, we’ll watch a movie… and I’ll eat you for dessert.”
Her mouth went round with surprise and I grinned at her expression. I bent and pressed my lips to the soft skin below her ear, where her pulse fluttered erratically. I had quickly realized that it made her knees weak-and I exploited it anyway I could. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
“Give me more of your time. Trust me, Ace.”
“Okay,” she breathed. “I’d love to.”
I pressed a kiss to her lips before releasing her. “I look forward to it.”
She looked both flushed and disoriented, and I loved that I had that effect on her. That I could make her feel even a fraction of the dizzying effect she had on me.
“Um. Yeah,” she murmured.
“Very eloquent, Ace.”
She stuck out her tongue at me and I laughed.
“Very scary,” I taunted and opened the door for her. She shot me a final, heated look before stepping out into the cool night and reuniting us with the others.
Julian’s house was very, very impressive.
It was large but tasteful-an old structure that had been transformed with modern architecture in mind. Large windows, sleek furniture, and books everywhere. Nestled in the green hills above Palo Alto, it was a secluded oasis of amazing views and wide spaces. The type of house I had never once visited before.
I teased him and asked if he had decorated it himself. Julian had rubbed the back of his neck. “Well, no,” he said finally. “I hired an interior designer when I bought it. It was faster.”
“But this…” I stopped at a glossy book detailing the history of computers, decoratively placed on a coffee table. “Surely you bought this.”
He had laughed and come up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist. “Will you deduct points if I say no?”
“No, I’ll say that whatever you paid that designer probably wasn’t enough.”
He pressed a kiss to my neck and tugged me along towards the kitchen. He patted a kitchen stool for me to jump up on before heading to the kitchen counter. He’d already laid out vegetables on a platter, a cutting board and knife ready. There was something so intimate about cooking together, being together like this. Without work clothes on, without people around. Just two people enjoying each other’s company.
I grinned at him as I washed the tomatoes-I couldn’t help it, seeing Julian Hunt measuring up pasta…
“What?””Nothing. Just that you look hot, doing that.”
He shook his head with a groan. “I can’t tell if you’re mocking me or not, but it’s working.”
“I’m not, I swear.”
“Tell me you can stay the night.” He put the pot down on the stove, heading towards me. I knew exactly how he’d try to convince me. “I want you in my bed.”
I looked down at my tomatoes and pretended to hesitate. “Oh, I’m not sure if I can…”
“You’re allowed to have your own life.” He wrapped his strong arms around me, and pressed hot lips against my neck. “Your brother is grown.”
I put my own hand over his. “Oh, okay then.”
“Really?””I might have already told him I’d be at Denise’s tonight.”
Julian’s kiss nearly knocked me off my feet.
We’d spent time in hotels rooms, in restaurants around the city, half-hidden in his car. But spending time in his house-in his bed-that evening felt more intimate than anything we’d done before.
“Ace, it’s Saturday,” Julian argued, flipping off the covers. “We can stay in bed for as long as we want.”
I laughed and tugged at his arm, still wrapped around me. “But we already have. Julian, you can’t possibly go again without food. I know I can’t.”
“But I’ve already eaten.” He grinned and rolled over, pressing kisses to my naked shoulder. My body was still in bliss from the two orgasms he’d already given me. I’d been afraid of not living up to his expectations, but Julian seemed insatiable.
And so was I. One look at those eyes, at the deep V on his stomach… yeah, he made me into a sex-crazed teenager again. Actually, scratch again. This was the first time I’d ever been this head-over-heels infatuated.
His kisses traveled up my collarbone. “I can’t help it. I’ve never been with anyone like you.”
I laughed and tugged at his hair, the rough strands sliding through my fingers. “What does that mean?”
He lifted himself up on an elbow. “That it’s never been this good with anyone else. That even when I’ve just had you, I want you again.”
My face must have registered the surprise I felt because Julian grinned and ducked his head. “Tell me how it is for you,” he murmured against my skin.
I continued to run my fingers through his hair. “I’ve never been with anyone like you either. And sex with you is definitely the best I’ve ever had.”
