Chapter 16: In search

Alex didn’t know how to react anymore as what he was seeing at that moment was a different Kate. If someone had told him that his evil will end of giving him a slap on his face, he wouldn’t have believed it. Kate already had all his belongings thrown outside, so in shame he left the house feeling defeated.Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

Even has he was gone, Kate was never having it. At the sound of her main door being shot, she fell on the floor as the whole place became silent.

Kate had never been a girl that cries often, but this condition had left her with no option.

She remained on the floor as she tried to hold in her anger and pain, but the more she tried to hold in her pain, the more it threatened to come out. Kate used her long finger nails as a weapon to ease her pain as she scratched it deep into her rug.

“Why me?” she asked herself silently, but it was so deep. After what seemed like forever, she busted into tears.

Tears gushed out of her eyes like never before.

Alex was one man she loved the most and she was always ready to give up her identity for her.

Kate cried so hard as she held her chest while managing her breath. She rolled on the floor as she wailed. The pain was so much for her to bear. Struggling to rise up, Kate headed to the door of her house and shut it right as she retired to her room. She didn’t think the social world was needed anymore.

Pissed, she blamed herself. If she had taken note of all the red flags she saw at the beginning of the relationship, maybe her life would be better.

But with how her life was going, Kate did not think it was important to fight for love anymore.

Sitting on the floor of her room, she fell into depression.

Outside Kate’s world, in the City of New York, the internet was on fire.

Kate had no idea just how much her girlfriend was growing popular.

After Sass Media published the incident that occurred at school that day, Officer Thomas and Anita became the talk of the City.

They labelled Thomas “the hero of their time” after seeing just how much energy he puts in his job.

“NEW YORK’S NUMBER ONE FORCE”

“OFFICER THOMAS IS JUST ONE FORCE ONE SHOULD NEVER TOY WITH: WATCH HOW HE SAVED THE NEW YORK CITY’S PEOPLE”

“READ OFFICER THOMAS’S REPLIES TO FAMOUS REPORTER AFTER THE INCIDENT OCCURED”

“NO DOUBT: OFFICER THOMAS IS INDEED THE HERO OF OUR TIMES”

Every citizen in New York was so proud to have someone like him as everyone sang its praises.

When other media companies saw what Sass Media published on their websites and the papers, they quickly rushed to get their own printed copies before it would become an old news.

That was their way. Ever since Sass Media House employed and Andre, their status had increased which made the other media companies to wonder what it was that they were missing as they discovered that somehow from the past few weeks, Sass Media House had been topping every company in this state including the top three that were present and active.

Anyone who opened the tabloid would have to greet with their eyes the pictures of Anita and Officer Thomas.

Everyone sang their praises as they commented on every post of them that they saw on social media.

Commenter 1: “Officer Thomas is one of a kind. Luke who would not love him. I literally do love him.”

Commenter 2: “Oh my gosh! He so brave. I think I am crushing on him.”

Commenter 3: “How come no one is talking about how smart and bold Anita is. Can you see how smart she asked her questions? Like he had no choice but to respond.”

Commenter 4: “I loved the way Andre ran and was able to catch those guys. How hot and sexy he looked.”

Commenter 5: “To be honest, I literally cried while watching the clips of how Officer Thomas had managed to save the innocent lives if people out there. We are so graced and blessed to have him in our lives as a part of the force. Now I think he deserves a raise in his salary.”

The internet was mostly about the couple as Sass Media House released the clips of the incidents, skipping the part where it had started.

The weekend was so good for Thomas, but on the other side in Anita’s life, the weekend wasn’t so bright for her.

Anita didn’t care about whatever it was that was happening in the internet world. All she care about was how she was feeling.

She had been in her house all day, trying to reach out to her friend Kate, but to no avail.

This was unlike who Kate was. Anita was feeling so bad because she realised that she never knew where Kate was living and had never attempted to visit ever since she moved to New York City.

Tears rolled down her cheeks as she went through the books Late had once brought to her house.

She checked all through and could not find Kate’s home address.

Dialing her number again, Anita walked from her bed to her door repeatedly, hoping that Kate picks her calls.

“Oh my goodness! Please assure me that Kate is fine. I really want to believe that everything is okay on her end, but why do I feel so restless? Why do I feel like nothing is fine?” she lamented in her room as she rubbed her thick black long hair.

After attempting to call a couple if times, Anita got fed up and sat down on her bed looking frustrated.

Looking at her clock, it was 8pm already.

“She should be in bed.” Anita muttered and dropped her phone to go bed, but the moment she laid her head on her bed, her phone rang…
