*Same day of the feast*

‘Daya puked on a guy she was kissing once’, Mina teased the pink fairy who saw rage and tackled her friend. Within seconds, the two fairies were engaged in a playful fight while Lucy watched on laughing.

She felt bad remembering the earlier mistake and ruining the book for Jo. In fact, this was the first time Lucy had enjoyed something in her life. Jo had already changed her life so much for the better and she was grateful for that. Lucy knew she will probably ask for Jo’s forgiveness again even though Jo had already said it was okay. Afterall, Jo trusted her enough to share her secret.

‘Hey, Lucy’, Mina called her as the two fairies finally stopped fighting and straightened their hair and clothes.

‘Hmmm, yes?’

‘You should have totally seen the royal General earlier taking down the demons!’, Mina squeaked remembering Dante from the hunt ground. Daya shook her head up and down vigorously agreeing to her friend’s testimony!

‘I guess I won the hunt, eh’, Daya mimicked the General’s deep voice with her high-pitched voice. Lucy cracked up laughing so much that her stomach hurt, just when she heard a knock on the door.

‘Lucy! Your insolence will get me in trouble one day!’, Polly angrily yelled at her as she immediately stood up and kept her head down. Polly was the head of omegas and was known to give relentless punishment to disobedient omegas. ‘We have a whole feast preparation going and are extremely short on staff and you are sitting here enjoying your own private chat time. How dare you!’.

‘I am sorry’, Lucy murmured as she kept looking at the floor. She gave the two fairies a look that told them not to interrupt. By the stories the fairies shared so far, Lucy could make out that they were feisty and hot-headed. And Lucy did not want to create any more troubles for Jo.

‘I need more servers for the feast. I know you were recently injured and all, but this isn’t time for luxury. You can rest later. So off you go, NOW!’, Polly practically screamed at Lucy by the last word making her instantly scram from the shared room.

Lucy was kept extremely busy for the next few hours, she carried multiple plates back and forth to the waiting tables. She caught a glimpse of Jo sitting next to the general and the Alpha, and her heart sunk a little seeing Jo look lost. Lucy knew she was partly to blame for ruining the book, if only if she could turn back the time and undo it. As this thought left Lucy’s mind, she felt someone watching her. She slowly picked up empty glasses from the table and put them into a small trolley and quickly did a scan to see if she was just imagining it. But she wasn’t, Alpha Jayden was intensely looking at her as if he was undressing her just with his eyes. Lucy immediately clutched her black shirt harder, she felt violated just from his glare.

He was already surrounded by multiple she-wolves and Gina was fighting some of them off him. Lucy knew they were probably all drunk, but Jayden’s stare rubbed her in wrong places. As if he was reading her mind, he smirked at her and finally left his feast table leaving all the she-wolves behind scowling. Lucy watched him exit the feast ground as she finally eased off a little. As she finished picking the last empty glass off the table, she caught Gina’s eyes. Lucy already knew she was in trouble as she tried pushing the loaded trolley quickly back into the kitchen. Just when, Gina ran up to her and caught her by the hair.

‘Ouch, please let me go’, Lucy winced in pain.

‘You.. bitch again. Why.. the fuc. k were you…. watching Jayden’, Gina’s voice slurred as she could not even stand straight.

As the silence dragged on, Gina yanked Lucy harshly and shoved her on to the trolley. Lucy toppled over the trolley as all the empty glasses shattered into fine pieces on the ground. Because they were a little far from the feast ground and the music was extremely loud, it drowned everything Gina just did to Lucy.

‘You f. ucking slut. Stay on the floor along with the trash because that’s where you belong’, with that Gina turned around and left.

Lucy looked at the feast tables to see if Jo saw that, but she was not sitting there anymore and the General next to her was gone as well.

Her attention went back to the broken glasses. Polly will probably punish her for this, but she had to face the consequence.

As she picked the glass pieces, one of the shards pricked her fingers and blood instantly oozed out.

‘Ouch. That hurt’, she said to herself as she tried stopping the bleeding by pressing it down on her black shirt. There were few wine stains on her shirt as well and she looked like a mess.

‘Maybe Gina is true. I feel like a trash, no I am a trash. Not worthy of anything, not even Jo’s friendship’, she admitted in defeat as a tiny trickle of tear ran down her face.

As her eyes got clouded, her hands brushed against someone sending little tingles through her body. She blinked hard to let the tears escape and see who it was.

The silver haired general stood before her, squatting down like she was. He had few glass shards in his hands as well.

‘Hi there again. Seems like you were a bit clumsy’, the man said giving her a small but genuine smile.

Lucy shook her head as she continued to avoid his gaze and pick up the glass pieces. The longer she stared at his icy grey eyes, the more longing she had to relieve to him that she was his true mate. But she wouldn’t do that of course, he was a general after all and she was nobody.

‘What’s your name?’

‘Lucy’

‘My name is Caleb’, the silver eyed man introduced himself extending his hands. Lucy stared at the hand unsure on what to do.

‘I promise I won’t bite’, Caleb laughed trying to extend his hand more towards Lucy.

Reluctantly, she shook it and instantly millions of sparks flew between them. Lucy tried her best not to show any emotion and remain blank faced but the same could not be said for Caleb. He was already staring at Lucy with shocked eyes as if he could not comprehend what had just happened.

Lucy immediately retracted her hands. After she picked the last few pieces of the glass, she immediately pushed the trolley and left for the kitchen.

Caleb stood up slowly as he watched Lucy leave. He lifted his hand that had just touched Lucy. He definitely felt a tingle and was not mistaken. Was she, his mate? From the rumours he had heard since they arrived at Dark Slayer Pack, Alpha Jayden had already claimed saying she was his mate. Was this true? It was for Lucy to know and for him to find out.

‘What in the bloody murders is this!’, Polly scolded Lucy as the trolley was filled with broken glass pieces.

‘I fell. I apologise for my clumsiness. Give me any punishment you think is suitable’, Lucy lied but still kept on a straight face. She was used to owning up to things she did not do, it was much easier this way then to fight for the truth.

‘That I will. But I need to you to do something first. Alpha Jayden has requested you to drop him some fruit platter to his private room. Do not make any more mistake. Go now’, Polly dismissed her as she took a big gulp. As much as she wanted to protest against it, she knew she simply could not.

After climbing series of long steps, Lucy panted as she made her way to Alpha Jayden’s private room. The fruit platter was extremely heavy, and she had to carry it in her hands.

As Lucy knocked on the door and waited for a reply, the door just automatically opened. In front of her stood Alpha Jayden, in his naked glory. He yanked her inside harshly as the fruit platter escaped her grip and dropped to the floor.

Once inside, Jayden corned Lucy on to the wall as he inhaled her deep scent in. She heard a few giggles coming from behind him.

‘I need you to watch me. Do not take your eyes off or there will be punishment’, Jayden whispered into Lucy’s ears making her shudder in his arms. She quietly nodded as Jayden finally let her go.

She watched Jayden walk to the bed to the two naked she-wolves in her bed. Lucy gasped in shock as she realised who it was.

The two she wolves were non other than her stepmother, Linda and her youngest stepsister, Tilly. She wanted to look away, disgusted at the act in front of her but Jayden kept occasionally looking at her to check if she was still watching them, so she had to.

‘Come here, Lucy’, Jayden’s deep voice echoed in the now empty room as it was only them.

‘Moon goddess, please save me’, Lucy prayed as she started walking slowly towards the Alpha.
