Alpha’s Predestined Bride

EPISODE 41 The same man

MOON STONE PACK

Meagan opened the door and stepped out into the bedroom. She looked up after cleaning off her leg on the doormat and her breath caught in her throat when she saw the figure in her room. It was the alpha. Her eyes travelled to the door, she was sure that she locked it but it wasn’t broken.Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

“How.. how.. did you.. get in?” She stuttered, a frown grazing her face.

“The window.” Carl answered without tearing his eyes away from her as they moved down to her body. He knew she was naked underneath the towel wrapped around her body.

The other side of the guesthouse has a route that leads to his apartment. He had cleared the thick bushes few days before the wedding date was set for a easier means for people to go swim at the pool if they know their way around.

“This.. is very…. impolite. And you shouldn’t be here.” Meagan said with a deep frown on her face as her two hands crossed over her chest to cover the naked area connecting to her neck. She was uncomfortable and acted like he hasn’t seen her naked form.

Lust and desires flared in his eyes but the alpha controlled himself. He wasn’t a sex maniac who get turned on at the thought of having sex but this woman was making him do things out of his principles. He was here to have a conversation with her. Carl reminded himself.

“You shouldn’t be here.” Meagan repeated in the sternest tone she could muster.

“You can grab some clothes on. I won’t look at you.” He said so you make her comfortable.

Meagan looked away and started towards her box going around him. “Why are you here?” She asked.

“I am sorry for slipping into your room unannounced but this is the only way I could think of just to have a conversation with you.” He had his back against her while she heard him crack his knuckles and the action flexed the muscles on his back.

“I don’t want to have a conversation with you. So you can leave, alpha Carl Damien.” She said.

Carl spun around to look at her. “Is that it?”

“You said you weren’t going to look at me.” Meagan eyed him and he turned around again.

“I am sorry.” He raised his hand up in surrender. “Listen Meagan-”

“Allison.” She corrected him.

“Alright. Look, there is something you should know. I am the alpha of this pack. I run the affairs of the pack and I owe my life to the members in it. Fine, these are the words I should have said to you but-” he paused to think of what to say to her. “I don’t want you to think that I deceived you to get you into bed.” He had rehearsed the words in his head but they seem to be failing him.

“It is obvious you flirted with me with the purpose of getting me into your bed. And I wasn’t smart enough to realize it.” Meagan mumbled but enough for him to hear her.

Carl backed down on his words and turned to look at her. She didn’t even make a move to wear any clothes. “Don’t think-”

Meagan cuts him off. “What should I be thinking? That you didn’t lie to me? That you didn’t know all along that I was close to your best friend? Cut the crap, you knew everything about me… all along so why did you put a facade?” Meagan blinked her eyes a couple of times so the tears at the corners of her eyes won’t drop.

“How on earth did I not realize that you could have been the same man? The man who I didn’t want to know his name, background and job. The alpha who I didn’t want to meet. You should have at least -” Her voice trailed off.

She didn’t know why her eyes were bleary. She didn’t want to cry not in front of an alpha who might see her as weak.

“We agreed to a secret adventure right? So it should end here. Leave Carl.” She blurted out.

Carl knew she was pushing him and ending things without listening to him. His Adam’s apple bobbed up and down his throat as he swallowed hard. Meagan could see it as he came closer to her and walked passed her. He was leaving.

She almost regretted her words because she expected that he would plead for a chance to explain himself. But she should know better by now, he is an alpha so he can’t ask for such a chance because of his ego.

“Jerk… I hate you…” she whispered to herself.

If he leaves then he would be another Max in her life. And Meagan would believe that she was created to be the one to beg men to stay in her life and love her. But she doesn’t want to be that type of person. She craved for a connection with someone but the scars she got from her last relationship had build up a strong tower of insecurities within her.

She hated the fact that a tear had slipped down her cheek. This isn’t supposed to be happening. Meagan began to doubt if she had made the right decision to end things with the alpha. Why? Why did she want to end things with him? Because she found out he is the alpha? Or because he knew about her? Or the fact that he had put up a facade?

The truth remains that if he had told her the truth right from the start would she have accepted to go on this secret fantasy with him? No, she would have kept a distance. She was the one who didn’t want to know anything about him and she had made it so obvious. So whose fault is it that he had chose to be an ordinary wolf?

Meagan figured it out. She expected that he would be out of the room by that time but as soon as she turned to go after him she collided into a solid wall of chest.

Carl has been right behind her contemplating on what to do. He didn’t come this far to leave without saying the words he had memorized in his head.

Meagan decided that if she has to be the one to beg then she would do it over and over again for the alpha. There is no way she would avoid him because he is everywhere in the pack as the alpha.
