Alpha Knight’s Cursed Mate

NIRVANA

“What the hell is going on between you and Knight?” Kailin just bombarded me in my room. Of course, no matter what, she was team Alpha Knight. The way she looked at me right now was filled with accusations and blame.

Admittedly, I got too carried away with my anger. Instead of protecting his pack, he was away locking me up. Yeah, I blamed him for the attack. He should have been here with them. I should have been here for everyone.

“Vana!” She shook me when I ignored answering her question.

“Why don’t you ask him?”

“You’re my best friend.”Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.

“And he’s your cousin and your alpha.” I arched a brow at her.

“I just want to hear it from you.”

I faced her. “Where’s Dane? Haven’t you seen him today?”

She shook her head in annoyance. “Dane is working.”

I smiled. “So, you two have mated?”

“None of your business.” Her reply was defensive. At the same time, she blushed.

“I don’t see his mark on your neck.”

“Vana!”

My smile faded. “I’m sure you know the answer. If I were here, I could have helped and minimized the damages, but your cousin locked me up in confinement like I was some subject for an experiment. He betrayed me. He hurt me, K. I thought he loved me, but after what he did, I can’t trust him anymore.”

“Hey. Don’t ever doubt his feelings for you.” She instantly came to his defense. I expected nothing from Kailin other than protecting her alpha. “Whatever he did, it was to protect you.”

“Look what is going on here, Kailin? All of these people are getting hurt because of me. Those who just came to attack the pack were all after me. I don’t know what to do anymore. Things are getting out of control, and the shield around this place is getting less effective each day.”

She sighed deeply, holding me in my hand. “We can figure this out.”

“Yeah. I know one solution. I’m turning myself in.”

She grunted, rolling her eyes. “Not again.”

“Okay. Fine. Let’s go and kill that son of a bitch Eloh. I’m sure he ordered all these attacks.”

“He’s in jail.”

“Oh yeah?” I arched a brow. “Does he get a visiting privilege? If he does, then he just gave order to his loyalists.”

“Goddess.”

“I told you. And I’m tired of fighting werewolves. I want to kill that son of a bitch, Cyrius, not your kind. I want to find him.”

“How are you going to find him?”

“I don’t know.” I sat on the bed. “Maybe a warlock can find a warlock.”

“Alpha won’t let us.”

This time, I rolled my eyes. “Of course. Anyway, how’s Mac?”

“Thank you so much. I would have lost him if it wasn’t for you.” She kissed me on the cheek. “I owe you one. You’re kinda badass.”

“People are getting killed because I’m a badass. This is a curse, K., not a gift.”

“Hey. You’re also saving a lot of people.”

“I don’t want any more killing. I’m tired of fighting bad guys. And your cousin? God, I hate him.”

“Hey. Stop it.” For a second, she was horrified.

My eyes narrowed. “He drugged me. It’s not something I can forget. If he will do something stupid to me again, I swear I will divorce him-”

“Gee. You, people enjoy divorce a lot.”

“You, people?” My brows shot up. “Wow. I didn’t see that coming.”

“Hey. Don’t twist my words.”

“He’s a dick.”

“I know. Sometimes he is. Get some rest.”

I nodded. I thought of a new plan to end this attack when she left.

***

It had been three days since that attack. Everyone recovered but the elder who died. It was heartbreaking. The pack did a small service in his honor before we buried him. That was the last time I saw Knight.

I guessed I pissed him off, or he helped me from getting the blame for what happened while we were away and for what he did to me.

I also avoided sitting with the pack, but everyone knew that I stayed in the pack house. I received visitors. They sent me some snacks and drinks, and McKaye continued our training.

I started scribbling again, which I really missed a lot, but I avoided a topic about Knight.

It still hurt, and I did not receive an apology, a letter, or even flowers from him. He just ignored me for three damn days, but the worse part was I knew he had come to the pack house, and our bond was still strong.

After breakfast, I showered and changed into clean clothes. I remembered our plan to go shopping before he drugged me. I was grateful for Kailin, though. She went to the house to get some of my clothes.

Just as I sat on the bed and grabbed a sketchpad, I heard a knock on my door, and his scents flooded my nostrils. My heart suddenly beat faster.

“Nirvana, it’s me.” The door opened.

I ignored him getting in, but he smelled good, distracting me from sketching. “What do you want? I’m ready for my punishment for hitting an alpha.”

“The council sets up a meeting for alphas, and I want you to come with me.”

I lifted my gaze from the sketchpad, and he almost caught me off guard. He dressed well, and he looked insanely handsome. “I’m not an alpha.”

“I know that.”

“I did not receive an invitation.”

He blew a breath, scratching his nose. His other hand is in his pocket. “It’s been three days, Nirvana. I gave you enough time-”

“To what?” I grabbed the dagger from my boot. “To reconsider? To move on? To get over it? To what, Knight? To forgive you? Not happening!” I threw the dagger on the wall. It stuck straight. “You better get to the meeting before you miss it.”

“I know you’re still pissed at me.”

“Damn right, I am.” I threw it again and again to annoy him so he would leave me alone.

“How did you do that?”

I stopped and glared at him. “Do what? Stay mad? It’s easy. I’m replaying what you did to me in my head.”

“No.” He pointed at the wall. “Get the dagger. Did you go there to pull it out?”

Oh, yeah. I didn’t realize it either. In fact, I was surprised myself.

“I don’t know. It’s just that every time I hold the dagger, I feel it vibrate in my hand. Like a magnet. Like a boomerang.”

“Huh.” I felt like I could see the lamp lighting up in his brain in his expression. “Nirvana.”

“I heard you, Knight. My answer remains the same.”

“Okay. I’m going. Stay put, and don’t destroy the wall. I’ll see you later.” That was it. He left, and my anger just shot up. I threw the dagger at the door instead.

Thirty minutes later, I got out of the door and almost bumped into Dane, who had a bouquet in his hand.

I couldn’t help but smile and get jealous at the same time. He was thoughtful, while my mate was an asshole. “Look at you.”

“Luna.”

“Vana is fine, Dane.”

“You did not go with Alpha Knight?”

“No. What’s the meeting all about anyway?”

“You.”

“Excuse me?” I stared at him in shock.

“You don’t know?”

I shook my head in disbelief. “Knight wanted me to come but didn’t mention that the meeting is about me.”

“The meeting of alphas is to discuss whether you’re a help or a threat.”

My eyes widened. “Dane, the council put all the alphas together in one place?”

“Yeah.”

“Shit. Who’s with him?”

“Kaleb and Luka.”

I picked up my phone.

“What’s wrong?”

I dialed Knight’s number, but he did not pick it up. It was in silent mode, or something was already happening.

“Shit. He’s not picking up. Damn it, Knight!” My heart jumped into my throat as I began typing a message.

“Luna Nirvana, is he in trouble?”

“It’s a trap, Dane. It’s a trap.”
