I woke up feeling a slight ache in my body, especially between my thighs. I felt sore due to what happened and what I did with my mate last night? My mate and I got intimate for the first time. The thought of me got me really excited. And has I recalled the passionate moment with him, my wolf limped in happiness.

I trailed my arms to the spot where I expected my mate to be but it was empty. The pillow was so soft that I drew it closer to my body to sniff the scent of my mate even without opening my eyes. I guess our disagreements has finally come to an end and we are back to being the good mates that we used to be.

“I love my mate so much.” I mumbled with excitement in my tone.

But then my eyes flared open after my mind drifted back to last night again to the moment when I heard my mate whisper words of apology to me. Tears. Yes, he had tears in his eyes but he had managed to put me to sleep. I sat up abruptly tossing the pillow back to the usual spot. I began to wonder what could have gone wrong with him. Perhaps is he sorry for doubting me? Is he feeling bad for not trusting me when I tried to prove that I was loyal to him? Maybe. I have given myself to him, he took away my virginity last night which was enough reason to prove that I never cheated on him.

Still, it didn’t sit well with me that my mate felt sorry. I have forgiven him so he shouldn’t feel bad anymore.

I threw my leg over the edge of the bed and dragged myself out of it. I should find my mate and have a word with him. I rushed into the bathroom to have my bathe, had the quickest on record and then came out to wear a simple outfit of my mate’s big polo on my bum short. I also recalled that he had gotten a new cellphone for me. So I have two purposes for visiting the warriors academy -have a conversation with my mate and get my new cellphone. I concluded as I motioned out of the room, raced down the stairs and out to the big living room.

“Avery,” I stopped on track when I heard a feminine voice call my name. I turned towards the direction and saw Luna Beatrice smiling at me.

It was a bit hard to differentiate Luna Beatrice and Katherine’s voice because they sound so muck alike. Plus they also have a striking resemblance except that Luna Beatrice has a tinted grey hair.

“Good morning, Luna.” I greeted.

Luna Beatrice walked closer to me with the beam on her face becoming brighter.

“How are you feeling?” She asked.

“I am fine.” I answered.

“I can see it. Your color looks brighter today and you seem excited.” Luna Beatrice reached out to hold my right hand.

I wondered if my mate informed his family that we got intimate last night. “Avery, thank you so much for giving my son another chance. I was afraid that you would really reject him and make a report about the abuse to your parents.” The smile on her face was now replaced with a sober look.

“It’s alright. I have forgiven Kayden and I just hope that we get along well like we used to do. Moreover, my wolf and I would be greatly affected if I reject our mate. And since Kayden is remorseful about what he did, then I see no reason to hold a grudge.” I replied.

Luna Beatrice gave my hand a small squeeze. “You truly deserve my son and to be the Luna of this pack because you have a good heart.”

I let a small smile crawl on my face. “I should also thank you for treating me like your own daughter and for caring for me.”

Luna Beatrice smiled. “You deserve more than just my care, Avery.”

I nodded my head as she let go of my right hand. “So where are you going?” She asked.

“To the warriors academy.” I answered.

“I am sure Kayden is quite busy at the moment but should be done with his work in the next ten minutes. So you should eat before you go off to see him.” Luna Beatrice grabbed my hand and pulled me along before I could even protest.

After having breakfast with Luna Beatrice, she released me to go to my mate. In excitement of seeing my mate, I ran as fast as my legs could carry me not really minding the few wolves who greeted me as they passed by. All I wanted was to see my mate and it was becoming really hard for me to control my wolf from busting out into the open just to get to our mate faster than my physical legs could carry me.

“Relax girlie, we are almost there.” I mumbled as I ran pass the meeting house.

I was certain that Kayden wasn’t at the meeting anymore because a maid came around to inform the Luna that the big alpha wanted her to prepare his favorite meal. Alpha Scott would only have his meal once a meeting with all pack officials was over.

“And here we are wolfie!” I pulled to a stop when I heard the war songs comings from the training ground.

I let out a handful of breathe and also did the exhaling and inhaling process over and over again. I walked few steps closer until my eyes caught the warriors in a deep defensive training. My eyes scanned the whole area to find my mate but I couldn’t pick up his scent which only means that he wasn’t among these training warriors.

I should check on him at the office as planned. I concluded that my mate must having a good rest or taking a break after the meeting. I motioned towards the academy building.

“Young Luna!” I heard a familiar voice call out to me.

Well I didn’t want anyone to see me but it seems like my mission to sneak in to see my mate won’t work out. I stopped on track and turned around. Beta Ethan Paulo waved at me from where he stood with a spear in his right hand.

I waved back at him and would have made attempt to keep on working but he said, “Wait young luna-” then Beta Ethan Paulo started the wall towards me.

A smile crossed his face when he got to where I stood. “Hello.” He said.

“Hi Beta.” I greeted him with a happy smile on my face.

“Young Luna, how are you doing?” Beta Ethan Paulo asked.

“I am fine. How have you been too? Is training going fine?” I questioned as I pointed towards the direction of the warriors.

“I am doing okay. And training is going so well. These are the new warriors that we just recruited into the academy.” Beta Ethan Paulo stepped away to stand beside me.

“Some of these men are from neighboring packs that don’t know much about tactics and they don’t have amenities to train their warriors.” He added.

“That’s nice. Although I didn’t know other pack warriors can train in another pack.” I admitted.

Beta Ethan Paulo leaned closely to me. “Only black moon pack does this kind of thing. It’s a rare chance.” He whispered.

I shook my head in understanding. “But won’t they use the tactics against the pack someday?” I asked

Beta Ethan Paulo chuckled. “They won’t dare try it with black moon pack. The big alpha made these packs sign a contract and these men also took an oath. Believe me when I say that this pack is the safest place you can ever be.” He said with so much confidence in his tone.

Ethan Paulo must be proud of being a native of the most powerful pack in the werewolf world. And to also be an official, the second in command to the alpha.

I fixed my eyes on the men, watching the new recruited warriors trying so hard to win against an opponent.

“I don’t mean to prey into your personal affairs but Kayden told me everything that happened at your place.” Beta Ethan Paulo said in a low tone.

I looked up at after he switched side to stand in front of me, his back against the warriors and he blocked my vision of feeding my eyes. I expected it. Kayden would definitely open up to his best friend. But I hope it’s just him and no one else.

“I was disappointed when he told me that he had hit you. I picked a fight with him the day he brought you to the pack. The alpha and Luna were so mad at him when he spilled everything. I am sorry about the death of your good friend. I tried to talk Kayden out of feeling insecure about Freddie but he never listens. And of course I don’t blame him because he has an alpha blood running in his veins which makes him egocentric. He must have hurt you badly but I hope that you find it in your heart to forgive him.” He ended his words with a sigh.

“I have forgiven him. And we are on good terms now.” I answered.

“I am glad to hear that you have forgiven him.” Beta Ethan Paulo replied.

“Kayden is in the office right?” I asked. But got no response from him. It was as if Beta Ethan Paulo wasn’t listening to me anymore.

I followed his gaze, turning slightly and he was looking at the academy entrance. I looked back at him only to find a perturbed look on his expression.

“Beta-”

“Yes… you were saying?” He jolted out of whatever he was thinking about.

“I.. I just asked if Kayden is in the office.” I replied.

“Oh Kayden.. the alpha.. I don’t think he is at the office. He must be at.. the meeting with the… big alpha.” Beta Ethan Paulo stammered which was so unusual of him.

I was confused by his sudden swing in attitude. “But the meeting ended–”

He interrupted me. “Young Luna, have you seen the latest dance of the she wolves?” He blurted out.

I furrowed my eyebrows. “I don’t.. quite understand you.”

He is trying to change the topic? But why is he acting so differently?

“I mean a new dance some she wolves have been practicing for the upcoming full wolf moon celebration.” Beta Ethan Paulo turned me back to face him when I tried to check the academy entrance.

“How about we talk about the upcoming full wolf moon celebration? Will you be around? When is your final exams and graduation?” Beta Ethan Paulo questioned frantically.

This isn’t the Ethan Paulo I know. What baffles me more is why is he trying to stop me from going into the academy by delaying me with questions? I pondered deeply.
