Alpha King’s Special Soulmate

EPISODE FORTY THREE

THEME: I found her

DARK WOOD PACK

(Edda’s Point Of View)

When my husband and I moved back to the dinning section, there were flowers and a bottle of wine on the table and music also drifted from the living room.

Riley and I exchanged glances as we took a couple of last steps to the table.

“Wow! I am wondering why Alexander is going through all these preparations.” I whispered to Riley who just simply grinned. He was probably wondering the same too.

“He must be up to a good this time.” Elena muttered.

My son came back to the dinning room with a baked pie. Alexander’s shirt was partially in unbuttoned and the sleeves rolled up his forearms. He was sweaty and his dark hair fell over his forehead.

“You are in a good mood. Alex, can you tell us what’s going on?” I smiled.

Alexander grinned as he dished out the food. “We should have a proper meal as a family before sharing the news.”

No one said anything else as we all settled to eat. Several minutes passed with only Alexander miming slowly to the music.

“This is delicious.” Riley complimented.

“Thanks dad.” Alexander let his spoon drop as he reached out to open the wine.

My husband pushed back his plate. “I am full.” Riley added.

“Me too. So Alex, can you just share the news already?” Elena grabbed a glass of water and gulped down the whole liquid in it at once.

“Alright.. everyone listen to what I have to say.” Alexander raised his hand up.

I watched Elena rolled her eyes while Riley glanced down at his wrist watch. “I have a meeting with the officials in twenty minutes time.” He looked straight at our son.

“This late night?” Alexander asked with a raised eyebrows.

“Yes.” Riley nodded in response.

“I found her.” Alexander blurted out.

“Who did you find?” I asked.

Riley and I exchanged glances. “My mate!” Alexander said with clear excitement in his tone.

I gasped out in happiness. “Really?! You found your mate? Where? When? How did you find your mate?” I questioned frantically.

I didn’t miss the pure joy and happiness on each of our faces at the news that our first child already found his mate.

“This is great news.” Riley chuckled.

“Indeed.” Elena winked at her brother.

“Tell us how you found her.” I said.

“And who she is too.” Elena added.

I was feeling so anxious to know how my first child found his mate.

“Well.. I found my mate at a club three days ago when I hung out with a friend who was celebrating his birthday. And it turned out that she is a student at the same college I attend but not in my department. She is studying medicine.” Alexander explained with a bright beam on his face.

“So who is she? I mean.. is she a vampire? An hybrid? A witch? A human? What’s her kind?” Riley demanded with a chuckle. He was clearing teasing our son because our kind wasn’t on the list.

“Fortunately she is a werewolf just like me.” Alexander answered.

“Wow! That’s so cool! And did your wolves accepted to get mated at first meeting?” I asked.

“Yes! She sensed our connection when our gaze locked. I didn’t want to approach her at first because of the too many humans around us but she walked up to me and said.. hey handsome, you are my destined mate. Damn! She looked so gorgeous when those words rolled off her tongue.”Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

Alexander got out of chair and demonstrated how his mate had approached him and both of them sharing a kiss of acceptance under the moonlight that same night.

“I would have made it home right away to share the news but I had to wait for a test the next day. And I didn’t want to share such news over the phone.” Alexander smiled and sat back in his chair.

“So how do you feel finding your destined mate?” Elena asked.

Alexander looked straight at her. “I am super excited! I found my mate, she accepted me immediately, we shared a kiss of acceptance which happens to be my first kiss and I didn’t have to beg her for acceptance.” Alexander counted his fingers and then touched his lips.

His mind was probably drifting back to the kiss he had shared with his mate.

“Stop being too dramatic about this whole mate of a thing.” Elena said.

“You can’t relate because you haven’t found your mate.” Alexander stick out his tongue at his sister.

Elena let out a sigh. “Lucky you for finding your mate. Congratulations.” She clapped her hands slowly.

“And I think we are missing something.” Riley said.

“What?” We asked in unison with our heads turning towards him.

“Your mate is a native of which pack?” Riley demanded.

“Oh yes! I almost forgot! You made me study all the whole werewolf pack names when I was little but I haven’t heard of the name of my mate’s pack or seen it in records.” Alexander said with a confused look on his face.

“What’s the name of her pack?” I asked.

“Black moon pack.” Alexander answered.

“Really? I haven’t heard of that pack. Maybe it is a new pack.” I said with a shrug.

“No. My mate is the alpha’s daughter. And she mentioned it that the pack has been in existence for more than forty years now.” Alexander countered.

“Who doesn’t know black moon pack? I have friends from that pack.” Elena snorted.

Alexander shot her a glare. “Stop playing around or trying to tease me. I know you have no friends, Elena.”

She rolled her eyes again. An habit she can’t do without. I turned to look at my husband.

“Do you know black moon pack?” I questioned but got no response.

“Honey…” I called him again. But he already zoned out on us and was deeply lost in thought.

I reached out to tap him. “Honey..” he jolted out of thought. “What are you thinking?”

“Oh me? Nothing.. nothing.” He stammered.

“Dad, you are not listening.” Alexander accused.

“I heard everything. Alexander, you said that.. your mate is a native of black moon pack.” Riley said.

Alexander nodded in agreement. “And her father owns the pack.” Riley added.

“Yes, she is the alpha’s daughter. And she is the first child and next in line to rule the pack.” Alexander answered.

“Perhaps, is her last name Scott?” Riley asked.

“Yes! Dad, how did you know? Look, her father and I also share the same name.. Kayden. And my mate’s name is Avery. She was so surprised to find out that she has the same name as my mom.” Alexander grinned.

“Avery? That’s impossible.” Riley muttered under his breathe but I heard him clearly.

“What do you mean?” I asked jinx

“That wolf can’t be his mate. I mean.. there must be a mistake somewhere.. not Avery Scott!” Riley blurted out.

We all had confused glances on our faces at his sudden outburst. Riley stood up to leave.

“Dad, what do you mean by Avery can’t be my mate? I sniffed her scent in the air.. I am certain there is no mistake anywhere.” Alexander pointed out.

“Perhaps do you know about black moon pack?” I demanded.

Riley looked down at me and my heart beat accelerated at what I saw in his eyes. A cold stare. It was exactly what I had seen years back when I met him. That time a dangerous looking alpha saved my life.

“Dad-”

“She can never be your mate!” And with that Riley stormed out of the house slamming the door hard in the process.

Alexander clenched his fists. “Does this mean dad is not in support of me mating again? He has always been like this towards me. He never supports anything that concerns me.” He gritted.

“No.. no.. Alex, don’t get your father wrong. Maybe your daddy is just stressed out because of the pack affairs.” I tried to calm my son down.

“He doesn’t have to take out his frustration on me.” Alexander replied.

“But why do I feel like something is wrong. Like dad.. is hiding something.. he never shared this pack name with us. It was never on the list he gave us to study. Could it be that dad is probably not on good terms with the alpha of black moon pack?” Elena said loudly.

Alexander stood up abruptly. “Well I don’t care about whatever he has up his sleeves!”

“Alex, would you calm down please. I’ll go talk to your dad and find out his reason for not wanting to accept your mate.” I pushed the chair backwards and stood up too.

“There won’t be any need to talk to him. Dad doesn’t back out of his words. And sometimes I feel like I am not even related to him in anyway. He treats me like some damn outcast!” Alexander said in a raised tone.

“Alex! Why would you think like that? Your father loves you.” I countered.

“I doubt it. So tell him.. I won’t let him stop me this time.” Alex grimaced in anger before walking off to his room.

“What just happened right now? This sudden switch up is giving me goosebumps.” Elena rubbed her upper arm. “I’ll do the dishes later.” She went ahead to her room too leaving just me at the dinning table.

I didn’t know what to do. Going after my husband to have a word with him won’t help because in a few minutes he would be in a closed door meeting with his officials. And talking to Alexander at this moment is also a no because his room door would be locked by now.

I didn’t like the fact that Alexander was clearly doubting his father’s love. Riley could be strict on some levels and doesn’t see eye to eye with our son but I am certain he loves Alexander so much.

I sighed in frustration as I settled to clear the plates on the table. I pondered on why Riley might be refusing to accept our son’s mate.

I mean this should be a time when we throw a party because the future alpha just found his mate. Alexander should be enjoying the joy of finding a mate and receiving series of congratulatory messages from everyone in the pack.
