“That won’t be necessary,” growled Nelly, her voice taking on a deep, menacing tone that sent shivers down the spines of Alpha Wade, Alpha King Larry, and Alpha Kilian. They turned to look at her in confusion, their wolf eyes gleaming with suspicion.
“Okay, sure,” Nelly suddenly spoke up, her voice still laced with an eerie, animalistic undertone.
Alpha King Larry, the King of the werewolves, raised an eyebrow. “R-Really?”
Nelly’s lips curled into a wicked smile, revealing her sharp canines. “If you don’t mind, you could even take them home with you and look after them for the night, Old Alpha Morris. As you can see, I can’t take care of them at the hospital. My grandpa has his hands full with me, so he can’t look after them either. It’d be great if you could help babysit them for us.”
Alpha King Larry, overwhelmed by the intensity of Nelly’s request, nodded profusely. “I don’t mind at all! In fact, I’m more than happy to help out!”
“I’ll be placing them in your care, then,” Nelly declared, her voice resonating with authority.
“You can count on me!” Alpha King Larry exclaimed, his voice filled with gratitude and respect, as if Nelly’s words held the weight of a sacred vow.
Nelly then turned her gaze towards Donna and Ben, her eyes glowing with a predatory glint. “Make sure to behave yourselves over there, okay?”
Donna and Ben, sensing Nelly’s power and dominance, nodded in response, their smaller wolf forms bowing before her. “Got it, Nelly!”
“All right. You should head on home now, Old Alpha Morris,” Nelly commanded, her voice leaving no room for argument. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
“Okay. You make sure to rest well too, Nelly. Don’t worry about the kids. I’ll be sure to bring them back to you tomorrow!” Alpha King Larry reassured her, his words carrying both conviction and loyalty.
Nelly simply nodded at him in response, her eyes never leaving his form.
Just like that, Alpha King Larry grasped Donna and Ben’s hands, his own eyes gleaming with excitement, and led them towards the door, ready to embark on their new wolfish adventure.
Alpha Wade, a mix of sorrow and a protective instinct surging through his veins, couldn’t help but feel the loss of his grandkids as he watched them leave. Deep down, his wolf heart longed for their presence, even as his human side understood the necessity of their departure.
Right as Alpha King Larry was about to get into his car, Alpha Wade, unable to hold back his emotions any longer, grabbed him by the arm and said, “Don’t forget your promise to me, Alpha King Larry.”
Alpha King Larry, his eyes shifting to a more feral hue, met Alpha Wade’s gaze with an unyielding stare. “How many times do I have to tell you this, Alpha Wade? I’m not going to take them away from you!” He leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a low, gravelly tone as he continued, “Besides, I’ve already thought of a brilliant idea! I could move into your house and look after them together with you! You can rest assured that I won’t be stealing your great-grandkids!”
Alpha Wade shot him a doubtful glare, his instincts telling him to be cautious. But he couldn’t deny the sincerity in Alpha King Larry’s eyes and the conviction in his voice. Slowly, Alpha Wade released his grip on him, a reluctant trust beginning to form.
“Donna, Ben, hop in!” Alpha King Larry ordered, his voice carrying a mixture of authority and affection.
Donna and Ben, torn between two worlds, cast a final glance at Alpha Wade, their eyes filled with bittersweet longing. “Don’t worry, Gramps! We’ll be coming back tomorrow!” they reassured him.
Alpha Wade forced a smile, his heart aching as he watched them climb into the car, the sound of the engine roaring to life a painful melody to his ears.
“All right. Remember to behave yourselves over there,” Alpha Wade replied, his voice laced with a sense of finality.
“All right now. Let’s go,” Alpha King Larry called out to Alpha Kilian, the dark and enigmatic Alpha who had remained silent throughout the exchange.
Alpha Kilian, his expression stoic and guarded, made his way over to the car, barely sparing a glance for Alpha Wade. He turned his gaze towards Nelly, his ex-wife, as if silently declaring his loyalty. “I’ll come back here to look after Nelly after sending my grandpa home, Old Mr. Jackson.”
Alpha Wade, his voice cold and distant, maintained a sense of authority in the face of their complicated history. “That won’t be necessary. You two are divorced, so it’s hardly appropriate for you to keep coming over like this. Just take good care of your grandfather.”
Alpha Kilian said nothing further, his werewolf nature preventing him from showing any sign of weakness or pain. With a curt nod, he got into the car and drove off, leaving Alpha Wade alone in the shadows.
Tony, a secret presence hidden from the others, was already inside the ward by the time Alpha Wade returned. His eyes sparkled with mischief, a mischievous grin playing on his lips as he observed Alpha Wade’s return.
Although he was surprised to see Tony, Alpha Wade shifted his gaze towards Nelly, his curiosity piqued. “Why did you let them take Donna and Ben away?”
A wicked smile danced across Nelly’s face, her wolfish aura becoming more prominent. “Why, don’t you trust Old Alpha Morris?” she asked with a sly grin.
“I… I do believe in Alpha King Larry. It’s Alpha Kilian that I don’t trust!” Alpha Wade growled, his fangs elongating as he spoke.
“We can’t keep this a secret from them forever,” Nelly said, her tone taking on a matter-of-fact quality.
“That may be true, but what if they don’t return the kids to us?” Alpha Wade questioned, his alpha instincts always alert and protective.
Nelly glanced at Tony, her eyes filled with pride and confidence. Tony, his voice exuding a quiet strength, spoke up proudly, “No worries, Gramps! Both Donna and Ben are very smart, so it won’t be easy to hold them against their will. If they insist on taking me away, I’ll cry and scream all day if that’s what it takes to come back! I’m sure Donna and Ben will do the same as well. I doubt someone who loves their kin so much would let that happen!”
Alpha Wade turned to look at Nelly in shock, a mix of wonder and awe filling his eyes. “Does Tony…”
“I’ve told him everything,” Nelly replied honestly, her voice filled with a combination of relief and determination.
Alpha Wade fell silent, his mind racing with conflicting emotions and a newfound sense of understanding.
“Relax, Gramps. Even if they do try to keep Donna and Ben with them, you’ll still have me,” Tony reassured him, his voice filled with the loyalty of a devoted grandson.
Of course, Alpha Wade wasn’t convinced in the slightest. The protectiveness of an alpha still coursed through his veins, refusing to accept anything less than his grandkids’ safety.
“I have my reasons for doing this, Grandpa. I’m already making a huge compromise by trusting them and giving them a chance to spend time with the kids. If they dare try anything funny, then I won’t hold back against them. I believe Old Alpha Morris won’t let things get to that extent,” Nelly added, her voice firm and resolute.
“That may be true, but I still feel worried,” Alpha Wade mumbled, his voice filled with a mixture of love and concern.
“You’re only worried because you’ve been too tense lately. It’s been a day since you last slept. You should go home and get some rest,” Nelly said, her eyes softening with affection.
“I’m not tired, nor am I feeling sleepy,” Alpha Wade insisted, his alpha pride refusing to admit any weakness.
“But Tony needs rest to ensure his proper growth,” Nelly protested, her voice tinged with a hint of maternal concern.
Alpha Wade glanced at Tony, his grandson, his gaze filled with unconditional love and a desire to protect. With a low chuckle, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe at the strength and wisdom of the young werewolf. “They still don’t know about Tony’s existence, so they think you only have two kids.”
“Which is exactly why I didn’t show myself earlier. That way, we won’t all be taken away at once!” Tony explained, his voice filled with a mixture of innocence and cunning.
Alpha Wade leaned in and gave Tony an affectionate pinch on the cheek, his voice filled with both pride and amusement. “You sure are a smart one, Tony!”
Nelly watched them, a soft smile playing on her lips as she said, “All right, it’s really late now. Bring Tony back home and rest well, Grandpa. I’m about to get some sleep myself.”
“I can’t rest easy leaving you here all by yourself. I think I’ll stay and watch over you,” Alpha Wade declared, his alpha instinct refusing to leave Nelly’s side.
“Me too, Nelly!” Tony chimed in, his voice filled with determination and protectiveness.
Nelly’s gaze softened as she looked at them, her heart swelling with love and gratitude.
