Chapter 16
Chapter 16
Alexander led me to the car with unspoken words speaking so much. My body was still shaking as I sat
in the car and soon we were on the way.
I rolled down the window to inhale the fresh air. The sky was turning dark orange and with in some
hours night would prevail. Sometimes nature gives us peace that no one can give.
My heart was beating fast as the events of today prevailed over me. It is a wonder that so much can
happen within a mere day.
"Hey Pearl." Alexander whispered reaching for my hand.
"Can you please change the atmosphere, talk about something better?" I asked him.
I knew he could do this and this was just what I needed.
I know that running away from my problems was not the best of the solutions but being an anxiety
patient, I didnt want to overthink anything more than I had already thought.
"Can I take you somewhere?" Alexander asked me.
No
"Yes." I replied.
And then Alexander played some soft music just as I liked. Music is a pain killer and at that time it
acted as an anxiety killer for me.
My muscles relaxed and my body stopped shaking.
Suddenly the world became beautiful again and I started humming the lyrics of 'my town'.
Waking up to kiss you and nobody's there
The smell of your perfume still stuck in the air
It's hard
Yesterday I thought I saw your shadow running round
It's funny how things never change in this old town
So far from the stars
And I want to tell you everything
The words I never got to say the first time around
And I remember everything
From when we were the children playing in this fairground
Wish I was there with you now
If the whole world was watching I'd still dance with you
Drive highways and byways to be there with you
Over and over the only truth
Everything comes back to you
We were into town. The streets were empty today particularly because what happened and even those
who were there were rushing to quickly get done with their work and reach home safely.
Home. A word that seems so foreign to me now.
"What are we doing here?" I asked Alexander.
"Wait and see." he replied getting out of the car and opening the door for me.
We walked through the market, through fruit shops and bakeries and brands and whoever looked at me
either turned their face away or gave me a symathetic smile. Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
Breathe Pearl. You don't have to think about this.
Alexander led me to a huge toy shop.
"Buy any toy you like, in both categories we would be needing a lot of them." he said.
I give him the 'why' look but I didn't get a response.
So I took all sorts of toys, both for boys and girls.
Soon we were back in the car with bags full of toys, continuing our journey.
" We are going to meet some special children, they are all wonderful except that they can't see."
Oh.
"oh."
"Trust me you will be amazed." he replied.
???
I looked at the huge concrete building, it was beautiful from the outside. It was a school. I had seen
other schools in here but this one was more big.
Alexander took me inside and greeted the receptionist.
She led us to a classroom and what I saw, literally surprised me.
Children were being taught by special trainers. They were using there eyes and actions to convey
messages to children.
I spotted children looking at the white board, lost in their own world trying to understand what the
teacher was trying to explain. I loved it. I always wanted to see a world in everyone was privellged and
this felt like a step towards it.
Alexander broke the silence and suddenly everyone's attention diverted to us.
All the children's faces turned into huge smiles and they came running towards Alexander to engulf him
in their hugs.
"Do you come here often?" I asked Alexander.
"Yes." he chuckled, in between hugs.
"Hello Luna, its a pleasure to meet you." the teacher said and greeted me.
"Oh no, just call me Pearl and you are doing a wonderful job. Well done." I told her.
After the hug session was done Alexander introduced me to the children as their Luna and
Ozymandius's mate.
At the name of Ozymandius they all turned even more happy and then made hearts with their fingers
and presented them to me.
He is a monster.
Soon we distributed the toys among them, making them even more happy and open to us.
We were showered with hugs and kisess as we roamed the whole school delivering gifts to the
wonderful children.
"Thank You Alexander I feel a lot better." I told him as we sat in the car.
"No, not like this. I will get my thank you after an ice cream." he smiled.
"Ice cream?" I asked.
"Yep, a way to happiness." he smiled and soon we were outside an icecream parlour.
"Caramel and Vanilla" we both said to the waiter at the same time.
"Good choice." I winked.
It turned out that icecream was truly the way to happiness. I devoured the caramel and vanilla like this
was the last time I was going to eat icecream.
"Time to go." Alexander said as we walked towards the car.
"Wait." I said.
I walked towards him and engulfed him in a hug.
"Thank you so much for everything. I needed this and this would not have been possible without you." I
said.
He hugged me back, his muscular arms engulfing me, giving me the resurrence that in this unknown
place I still had a true friend.
"There is no Thankyou or sorry in friendship."he replied.
The way back home was filled in silence that we both so needed after this eventful day.
Night had aroused and I looked at the moon, traveling with me.
???
As soon as we reached home, I went into the room. Ozymandius was usually in his office at that time
so the plan was to jump on the bed, go to sleep and run away from reality again.
But life had other plans for me.
As soon as I entered, I was pinned to the wall.
Again.
And it happened again. His oceanic blue eyes stared at me and my body started shaking, my eyes not
able to meet him and a dominant aura radiating from him.
His one arm removed the grip on my arm and came to my neck, pushing away my hair to the side.
I closed my eyes as his lips touched his mark and inhaled my scent. And suddenly he took his lips off
me.
His hold on me tightened and a low growl emitted from him.
"Why do I smell him on you.?"he growled, his anger radiating in his voice as he tightened his grip over
my arms.
" Who? " I whispered, my eyes still not meeting his. My heart beat grew faster second by second.
I could feel the sophiscation. The pressure.
"Alexander!" he growled.
His hold on me was so tight that I felt my bones might crush.
"Why do you smell of him, when I have told you that you are mine, only mine and no one can touch you
except me!" he raged.
I could feel my color paling, my heart beat racing, fear running in my vains and my blood pressure
rising but still for the first time in forever, I looked up in his eyes.
" I smell like him because he was there for me when I needed support the most, he was there to give
me the comfort I so much longed for. " I replied.
I could see his eyes getting darker, his fangs growing as he bought his face into my neck, low growls
emitting from him.
And with it, my heart rate was growing. My body was sweating. I had tears in my eyes. I knew it was
going to come.
With little courage left in me, I looked at him, my eyes meeting him.
"I can't do it like this." I whispered and just as the tear fell from my eyes, my vision blacked out.
The panic attack was successful.
