Agreement Behind Her Marriage

The Investor

Lily took her glance up to Kael Escarrer, Lauren’s brother, who was currently behind her.

“I don’t trust Drew Walton because he understood how to deceive weak people like my sister, especially like you. I don’t even understand why my sister still believes in your husband,” the man muttered.

She moved away from him. “We just met; I don’t need your opinion. I’ve been married to Drew for a couple of months, and I have faith in him.”

“Oh, yeah? For sickness and in health, I see. Are you certain he isn’t cheating on you right now?”

“Lily?” She turned to her husband. His appearance was dark, looking at the two of them.

“Drew?” Seeing him astonished Lauren, who had exited the restaurant. “Why are you here? I thought you were in the office?”

Drew turned sour as Lauren cast a puzzled glance at the woman standing behind him.

“Don’t give me that look!” said Drew.

“Do you know that your husband is here, Lily?” asked Kael, fueling her confusion.

But she swallowed because she didn’t know. Is this the reason why he said he’d be late returning home? She held her chest while remaining silent and then looked away. She knew nothing about her husband’s daily schedule outside their home.

Kael sneered. “It’s very easy for you to judge me when you don’t even know me. Anyway, I’ll think about working with you because I don’t like having weak people in my team.”

Lauren snapped at her brother, “Kael! You’ve gone overboard!”

Lauren’s brother didn’t pay them further attention. He turned and strode off.

“Drew, take Lily home!” said Lauren with clear displeasure at the situation.

“Boss Drew…” said the woman behind him with a pitiful look.

Lily felt a sudden knot in her stomach as she identified the familiar voice – wasn’t that her husband’s secretary who had visited their home? Why were they both at the hotel? Alarm bells rang in Lily’s mind, especially considering this woman’s history as one of Drew’s exes. Absentmindedly, she glanced toward the elevator they had just left, searching for answers.

“Lauren, please send Jenny home.”

“This is annoying! Just because I am not your wife, you have the right to do this! Remember that we have a relationship!” Jenny shouted.

“What’s happening, Drew?” For the first time, Lily found her voice to shoot a question.

“I’m in a relationship with your husband! We have an office relationship!”

“Damn it! You better shut up!” her husband yelled at the woman. “Don’t trust her words, Lily!”

“What the heck is going on, Drew Walton?” asked Lauren. It appears that three women are grilling him.

“We would be eloping if only you hadn’t caught us!”

Hearing the woman’s provocative comments, Lily felt a tightness in her chest. For months, Drew had reassured her of his loyalty. So, what was this woman implying?

Drew ushered her away to avoid drawing attention in the lobby. Lily remained silent, keeping her head down.

Did she have a right to complain? Not really, as their agreement had been clear.

As thoughts swirled in Lily’s mind, she refrained from commenting. Upon reaching the parking lot, Mark, her husband’s driver, awaited them, clearly astonished to see her with his boss.

Seated in silence at the back, she sensed Drew’s discontent through his audible, exasperated sighs.

Weeks ago…

“That’s right! Do you want to have a relationship with me?” Drew asked Jenny because he could feel her constant flirting with him.

“Of course!” the woman said in a sweet voice as her face lit up. “I missed you!”

“It’s settled then. You’ll be my woman,” he said with a smile.

“Really?”

“Just kidding!” He quickly recovered. He avoided her and went back to his seat. He no longer has time to make nonsense with this woman. He should be applauded for his tolerance of Jenny during her employment there.

“Augh! Drew, why are you so cocky?” the woman complained.

“Jenny, in this office, I’m your boss! Get back to work!” he ordered with a threatening tone.

She seemed to recognize that his satisfaction had dwindled, prompting her bossy demeanor to surface and prompting her to retreat. He shook his head. Does she think he’s oblivious to the fact that her attraction is solely based on his wealth? That seems to be the case with most of the women he encounters.

His mind, however, was preoccupied with Lily and her captivating scents. Just the thought of her made him stir. His pants grew tight in response. Lily had a unique presence that could easily disrupt his world. Swallowing hard, he rose to pour himself some iced water.

Drew shook his head, acknowledging that his wife could still arouse him even when she wasn’t physically present. In contrast, Jenny elicited nothing more than irritation, even if she were to undress in front of him.

A week prior, Drew encountered a man named Oscar Yu who found himself in need of funds to reclaim his stocks and revitalize his business. The challenge lay in convincing potential investors to inject capital into a company teetering on the brink of failure. Oscar sought Drew out as a potential investor.

Upon Oscar’s entrance into Drew’s office, it became evident that Oscar harbored a keen interest in Jenny. The charismatic 40-year-old businessman, blessed with striking looks, recognized the allure his wealth held for Jenny and anticipated her willingness to engage in seduction to secure his support.

“Mr. Yu, what do you think your rating would be if you rated yourself in bed?” enquired Drew.

The question clearly stunned and alarmed the man, who then questioned Drew’s sexuality. “Rate? Do you mean how skilled I am in bed?”All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.

“Yes.” Perhaps his visitor believed he was going insane or was too horny to ask. “No offense! I was looking for the ideal man to complete a task for me, and it just so happens that your physical attributes match what I’m looking for.

“5 stars out of five. I’m perfect, but I don’t like men. I’m a straight man.”

Does he think he was the person he’d seduce? Drew grimaced and explained, “No! I will invest in your company, but I want you to act as a wealthy investor of the Walton Group.”

“Why?” Oscar asked.

“Because I want you to seduce a ‘woman’. Can you do that?” He stressed the word woman, stopping the guest from overthinking.

His guest appeared to be exhaling with relief. “Who, and why?”

“Let’s just say she’s too playful and having her here in the office distracted me. I take my duties here at the office very seriously, and when a woman tries to seduce me, it irritates me.”

“So, that’s the reason why the majority of your team are men, apart from your assistant and…”

“Jenny. Jenny Cordova.”

“And I assume she’s the target?” The businessman smiled widely.

“Yes. I see she caught your attention, so I’m letting you woo her using my money. In addition to Jenny, I’ll invest in your business, so it’ll be hitting two birds in one stone.”

“Nice deal! I’m in!” the man said before they shook hands.
