Divorcing 26
Chapter 26: Pleasing
Michael was in a bad mood and told the servant to bring him some coffee.
The servant moved swiftly, bringing the coffee in no time.
Michael took a sip of his coffee, made with his favorite beans and brewed at the perfect temperature by the servant. Yet, for some reason, he didn't feel like drinking it anymore, Michael stared at the black coffee. Instead of feeling calm, his anxiety only grow
"Mr. Shawn, is the coffee not up to par?"
The servant was a bit cautions. Chloe used to handle these tasks. The servant wasn't sure if something had displeased Michael
"Take it away. It's awful!"
Michael aank back into his swivel chair, and the study returned to its quiet calm
He closed his eyes and leaned back in the chair, taking a moment to collect himself. Suddenly, he found his earlier self a bit ridiculous.
If this is Chloe's new way to catch Michael's eye, she's doing a way better job than before.
Michael opened his eyes, feeling calm once again.
Marrying Chloe was never Michael's choice; he was forced into it. Now, he shouldn't be mad seeing her with another man.
It's laughable how she tries to gain his attention by sinking so low,
Michael actually got mad? What a joke!
Michael tock a deep breath, feeling clarity wash over him. He opened his laptop and got to work.
Chloe took a cab back to Candy's place. Candy looked surprised when she now her. "Why didn'
Why didn't you go back there?" she asked.
"Michael saw me on the way. I have no clue what his deal is. He tore up the divorce papers and ditched me halfway."
Candy was taken aback, feeling like they were bickering like kids.
Tearing up the deal? That's classic Michael.
"So, what's the plan now?"
Chloe slumped onto the couch, staring blankly into space.
"Beats me."
Candy rolled her eyes at Chloe's antics and then fell silent for a moment.
"How about you just keep him happy for now? At least get him to sign a new deal. We can't keep stalling on this!" "What should I do?"
If she could've pleased Michael, he wouldn't have been so cold to her for the past three years.

Chloe paused to think.
The next morning, Candy woke up early to see Chloe coming back with some stuff.
"What are you up to?"
Chapter 26: Pleasing
Candy had no clue why Chloe was buying so much stuff..
Chloe thought Candy made a lot of sense.
Chloe's been swallowing her pride for years anyway.
She had to find a way to get Michael's signature!
Chloe said, "I'm heading to Paramount Airlines in a bit to drop off his lunch."
"You're awesome!"
Candy watched Chloe walk into the kitchen and couldn't help but praise her.
Chloe's resilience is off the charts. Otherwise, she wouldn't have lasted three years putting up with Michael's crap.
Chloe stepped into the kitchen and picked out Michael's favorite dishes.
Even though he rarely came home in the past three years, and they had even fewer meals together, she still knew his preferences.
Candy leaned against the kitchen doorframe. "You remember his habits better than your own. He should be paying you a salary. You're more dedicated than your housekeeper." Candy was throwing shade at Chloe, but Chloe didn't even fight back.
It's a fact.
To make Michael happy, Chloe really remembered everything about him perfectly.
He skips onions, loves mushrooms, and avoids anything too greasy.
Candy asked, "Chloe, do you even know what you like to eat?"
