After Divorcing my Captain Husband (Chloe and Michael)

Chapter 633 Haven't Been Friends

If it kept going like this, Chloe would never get out of those three years.

So she said, "Then it's your decision."

Seeing that Chloe didn't immediately object to him staying here to celebrate her birthday, Michael was rarely happy.

He put his phone down after replying to Ethan's message, saying that he knew how to handle it. Then, he got another call. It was from Owen.Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

Michael narrowed his eyes, remembering what Admas had told him earlier back at Shawn Manor.

Owen had been calling him for the past couple of days, but he wasn't answering.

Chloe saw it and said gently, "You might as well answer it. He's been calling you for days."

She'd seen it no less than five times.

Michael hesitated for a moment but stepped to the side and pressed the answer button. "Michael, where are you?"

Lucy had been trying to see Michael before, but Michael wasn't answering his phone.

Owen could only reassure Lucy by saying that he would get Michael back.

After so many days, he finally got through to Michael.

"What's the matter?"

Michael didn't answer Owen's question positively.

"Michael, can you come to the hospital and visit Lucy? I can't control her."

Michael frowned at the sound of Lucy's name. "Owen, I didn't go after Lucy for the sake of previous friendship. I've been kind to her. If Lucy does anything afterward, I won't be merciful. Don't you ever contact me again because of her. I don't want to know anything about her at all." He didn't know how he'd made these friends in college. Except for Asher, the remaining two made his head hurt.

Owen knew Michael was right to be angry. After all, Lucy had cut off Kranton Bank and Shawn Heavy Industries.

"Michael, I know Lucy and I have done a lot of bad things to you and Chloe. But things are different now. Lucy is out of control. I can't control her!"

Owen would never have been willing to enlist the help of his former love rival if he'd had any other choice.

But Lucy was going to give birth to the child whose father was unknown to her and continue to be with Abel.

Lucy was clearly still recuperating in the hospital, but she had to go out just because Abel said so. Owen took it hard every time.

And Abel wasn't nice to Lucy at all.

He knew she was pregnant and still let her drink with clients. He simply didn't treat Lucy like a human being.

But Lucy had gone crazy, saying that she would do anything to get the baby born and to get what Abel had promised her.

This time, Lucy was even crazier and actually wanted to touch something like that!

Owen really couldn't help it. He'd begged her, but she still insisted on going.

The only person who could persuade Lucy now was Michael.

Owen knew that one phone call from Michael would make Lucy come back and never make a fuss again.

Michael was afraid Chloe would get the wrong idea, so he put it on speakerphone when he talked about Lucy.

Chloe heard Owen's words and found them unbelievable, thinking, "Lucy is really crazy."

"She wants to degenerate. It has nothing to do with me at all."

Michael's icy words reached Owen's ears through the receiver.

"Michael, we've been friends since college. Can you really bear to see Lucy destroy herself?"

Owen's hand was shaking as he squeezed his cell phone.

"Owen, we haven't been friends since you and she were leaving Shawn Heavy Industries, since she went after Chloe over and over again."
