Accidentally Married

A huge smile climbed up Dawson’s face. Ever since he left the hospital this was the first of its kind news.

“What do you mean?” Dawson asked.

It would be wrong for him to jump to a conclusion without knowing what it was about.

“It seemed like something went wrong when they went out today but the young master came home carrying the young lady in his arms. Her dress was stained ad if something poured on it” Roselle said.

She was happy to be the one to bear and deliver such great news. She would be elated if the young master finally finds someone who he can love.

“And Jessica had a blush on her face all the while I attended to her tonight. I don’t know what happened but something happened” Roselle said.

“Then we need to know what happened,” Dawson said with a smile.

“We have to and those who were there. Get me the driver who took her out today” Dawson said.

Roselle nodded and turned on her feet to the stairs. She went outside to the staff lounge to get the driver who had been in charge of driving the young lady around.

James tried to remember all he had done in time past. Why was he being called into the chairman’s room? What grave sin did he commit that Roselle could not handle on her own that she needed to have the chairman involved?

“What happened today?” Dawson asked as James entered the room.

“To… ood.. ayyy,” James said stammering.

“Yeah, today what happened?” Dawson asked again peering at the young boy’s face.

“I took the young lady to see some houses and after that, I took her to a place for brunch. After a few moments, the police came and took them away to the station” James responded trembling.

“Police? Station? What happened?” Roselle asked all at once.

“Why did that happen?” Dawson asked keeping his cool.

“I did not get to know because I was not allowed into the station. The young master came later and took the young lady away” James said.

“We need to get to the bottom of this,” Roselle said turning on her feet.

“Wait,” Dawson said stopping her. “Was Leslie with her?” he added.

“Yes chairman” James answered.

“You can go then,” Dawson said dismissing him.

James bowed his head in relief and left the room.

“Call Leslie, let us know what we are dealing with,” Dawson said.

“Already on it,” Roselle said with the phone to her ears.

“Hello Roselle, I never thought u would hear from me again. You did not reach out when I stopped coming to the house” Leslie said as soon as she picked up the call.

“Hello Lady Leslie,” Roselle said pulling the phone from her ears and putting it on loudspeaker.

“I told you I am not a lady I am just Leslie. Can’t I be just Leslie to you?” Leslie asked with a cute voice.

“You are just Leslie that’s for sure,” Dawson said with a chuckle in his voice.

Hearing her voice rose his spirit in a kind of way. Her cheerful attitude was contagious even over the phone.

“Oh Dawson, the whole Delgado family abandoned me when I married Burke. Was it because I no longer loved Xavier?” Leslie asked.

“Of course not. I repent I would call you more often now” Dawson said.

“Can we ask you questions about today?” Roselle asked the question cutting off the long talk.

“I am all ears,” Leslie asked.

“What happened at the cafe that made you go to the police station?” Dawson asked taking the lead.

“Don’t even get me started” Leslie said feeling worked up. Remembering the events made her blood boil so badly that she wanted to throw things around.

“Someone who calls herself the best friend of Jessica came and made a scene by dumping the content of a drink into Jessica’s lap,” Leslie said and then took a deep breath because she felt her voice rising.

“The worst of it all was that she was the reason that Jessica broke up with her boyfriend before she met Xavier” she added.

She hated the fact that she recounted the experience. She wishes to get back to that time so she could dump her drink over the girl too.

“Get Mr. Gilbert to resume his duties back tomorrow” Dawson ordered.

“I would make them pay for this. No one can humiliate a Delgado and go away with it scot-free. I am so disappointed in Xavier” Dawson said balling his hand into a fist.

She could understand his anger and frustration. It was such a thing that should not happen to people of their caliber. She knew that once Gilbert resumed back to work those who did these things would regret it immediately.
