“Slow down” Jessica after Xavier panting and sweating heavily. He slowed down his jog and jogged back to meet her.

“Have you always been this fit?” she asked taking deep breaths to steady her breathing.

“I thought you would be more fit than this?” he asked still jogging on one spot. “You go jogging every morning around the house yeah?”

“You mean around the palace? I jog only halfway and I walk slowly for the rest” Jessica said finally catching her breath.” We have been at this for almost an hour now and I am exhausted” she said sitting on the ground.

Xavier stopped and crouched down to her level.” You were the one who wanted us to exercise together and I thought it was a good idea too” she said wiping the sweat from his forehead.

“That was when I thought you were unfit. I thought I could outrun you. I also thought we would do a little maybe thirty minutes a day but this is extreme” she said lying down.

“Come on we need to finish the routine,” Xavier said clapping his hands.

“I don’t need to do that. I am not going for the Olympics and I do not want to exercise with you again” she said and closed her eyes.

“You are giving up after just a day?”

“Yes” she screamed with all her might.” I want to give up because if I don’t give up now I am not sure if I will be able to use my body again” she grumbled.

“Let’s go back then,” Xavier said standing up and extending his hand to her.

She opened her eyes and saw his hands she sat up and took the hand. She yawned as he pulled her up to himself.

“I think I need a full body massage after this” she confessed to him as he held her and they began to walk back in the direction of the house.

“I would book you an appointment then,” Xavier said using his second hand to pull out his phone.

“Wait” Jessica screamed as she felt her heart beat faster as if it was in her mouth.” You don’t need to do that”

“Why not?” he asked as he watched her keenly.

“Just don’t,” she said ‘Or I’ll fall deeper for you’ she continued internally. ‘I am already having a hard time because of you and the internal crises too. I might lose my mind’

“If you need it then you must get it,” he said and dialed Ethan’s secretary’s number to book him an appointment at a spa for his wife.

“Thank you” she whispered as they continued walking at a slow space.

“If it gets you to walk better then there is no problem and no need to thank me”

“It’s just courtesy now isn’t it?”

“Well I think we should get a personal gym instructor, I think you would get better then” Xavier suggested.

“No more exercises or gym activities. I think I am for enough”

“No, you aren’t. Just last agree to have it that way”

“Nope way”

Since Xavier was going to meet Ethan on Friday they decided to stay in and order in on Thursday. The day went by in a flash and they were unable to pinpoint what it was exactly that they did.

When Xavier got up early to go to see Ethan for the deal Jessica was still sleeping and he left a note so he didn’t have to wake her up. Ethan sent a car to pick him up and for once Xavier was grateful he did not have to drive all the way to the middle of the city.

“Hell Mr. Ramirez,” Xavier said as he was led into the study.

“Come sit Xavier” Ethan gestured to the couch beside him.

Xavier nodded and went to sit there. Ethan looked around the room and especially at the door as if he was looking for something he misplaced earlier.

“Your wife did not come with you?” Ethan asked as his eyes finally settled on Xavier.

“Oh yes, she was still asleep by the time I left and I wanted her to get maximum rest since this is like a break from our busy day to day life” Xavier explained.

“I thought the both of you would come so I could treat you to lunch but I guess I have no choice but to invite you for dinner then”

“We would be thrilled to come. I would make sure we make it” Xavier responded happily.

It seemed like he was making progress with Ethan. Maybe his grandfather was just exaggerating the situation. Ethan did not seem like someone who would bully another person because of his marital status.

‘Oh well maybe Papa was right’ Xavier thought inwardly. It was obvious that Ethan would not see him if his wife was not present.

“She has nothing to contribute to the company dealings,” Xavier said quickly.

He had no problems coming back with Jessica for a nice meal with the old man but he did not want to leave without the contract in his hands signed and ready to move out.

“Is that what you think?” Ethan asked turning back to face Xavier. “Then I must say you must not be ready to grow beyond Chiachester City”

Xavier did not understand what Ethan meant. How could his wife be his key to going international? Braxton Industries was known in major places but still, there were some places where they were yet to reach.

“Women have the best ideas ever” Ethan clarified when he saw the confused expression on Xavier’s face. “They are natural builders and nurturers. If I were you, I’d leave the company in her care for a short while and watch our sales skyrocket”

There was no way what Ethan was saying could make any sense or be true.

“When you bring your wife we will sign the agreement. That’s my final stance” Ethan said walking away.

Xavier looked around frustrated. He had to do it. He stood up and walked out of the house with his phone to his ear.
