“How can you address me as cute? I am a full grown man” he said when he heard her.

“This attitude is what is cute,” she said pulling his cheeks. “So would you stay home with me?” she asked him her hands dropping to the bed.

“Of course”

“Would you do anything I ask you to do then?” she asked raising her eyebrows.

“I am at your service ma’am,” he said his hands to his head like he was about to give a salute.

“What of breakfast then?” she asked and his hands went to his hair to scratch it.

“Give me ten minutes and I will make sure you have the most exotic breakfast ever”

“Are you sure ten minutes would be enough?” she asked him with her hands folded across her chest.

“Thirty minutes?” he asked his head tilted and his eyes twitching.

“Are you going to prepare the meal by yourself?”

“Thirty minutes it is then,” she said raising her hands to shoo him away.

“I am going now” she nodded at him. He furrowed his eyebrow at her when she nodded. “I am really going” he added and she nodded again. He shook his head and grabbed her face with his hands and planted a kiss on her lips. “Now I can go”

“I am going to take a shower” she shouted after him. He stopped in his tracks in the doorway and turned to face her.

“Why not take one with me after you eat?” he asked with a wink.

“Why would you take a shower again? You already took one earlier today”

“I will be all sweaty and dirty after I prepare the meal, talking another one would be the proper thing to do” he winks at her and she shrugs.

“Well, I guess I could not get any more pregnant than I am now” he laughs and walks away.

Jessica picks up her phone from the nightstand. She knew that Xavier would definitely need more than thirty minutes even for a simple breakfast. She decided to spend her time on social media since she had nothing else to do.

First, she reached out to the manager she had hired before and told him that he needed to take over the running of the business for now. He agreed and she went over a few things with him. She promised to come around soon and settle some other things.

She knew she could convince him to allow her for a moment. Surprisingly as she scrolled through social media the news of Jason and Alicia’s engagement was plastered everywhere. She wondered if they told the press themselves or if somehow the information leaked. Her phone rang in her hand and it was Leslie.

“Hello, mother to be” Leslie’s voice rang over the phone. Jessica was glad that she sounded like her usual self. Aside from the fact that she did not want her business all over the internet, she had been hiding her pregnancy from Leslie because she did not know how she would take it.

She was at least glad that she took it in good fate. “You are in a good mood”

“Oh my god was it so obvious?” Leslie asked with a giggle.

“Of yes for sure. So what’s up?”

“I guess we could be pregnancy buddies”

“What?” Jessica asked confused.

“I just came from the doctor and he confirmed that I was six months pregnant”

Jessica was not sure if her ears were deceiving her or if she heard well. Did Jessica just say she was pregnant and even more far along than her? Does this mean she was already pregnant around the time that she was angry about not getting pregnant?

How did she not develop a baby bump? How did she not show any symptoms? Jessica was perplexed she wanted more information.

“What? How? What do you mean?” all the questions poured out of her mouth at once.

“Are you not going to congratulate me first?” Leslie asked with a pout.

“Congratulations. It is just that I can not wrap my mind around it so that is why I am asking so many questions trying to understand it” Jessica said in a rush.

“I also can not wrap my mind around it so I did the test three times and the doctor confirmed it I am having two babies” she squealed into the phone.

“Wait what? Twins?” she asked with so much joy in her voice.

“Yes”

“How did this happen? You did not show and you did not show any symptoms so how is it…” Jessica asked as she trailed off.

“So yesterday when you told me that you were pregnant I was kind of sad that it happened first to you and not me because you were not even trying and I was so I drank a lot. I was even too sad to get as drunk as I wanted because when I got home I was sober as hell” she said with a small laugh.

“So when I got home I decided to take the test again and the first few ones I took were all positive which scared me a little so I took all the test strips and they were all positive. Not trusting the slips I decided to come to check the normal way at the hospital and I realized how far along I have been all this while” she continued. She stopped to take a breather as she had said many words in the few minutes.

“Oh my god, I am so happy,” Jessica said almost screaming.

“So am I” she squealed again. “And I am sorry that I was jealous of you. It does not make sense but it was just the way I was feeling”

“Do not be sorry. If it were me I would be jealous too and I am not sure I would have handled it as naturally as you did” Jessica said in a praising tone.

“I was jealous that I thought of not speaking to you again” Leslie confessed.

“I guess that would have been my thoughts too”

“Thank you so much for understanding a human like me”

“I am human do I understand the feeling so well? Thank you for sharing your vulnerable moments with me. It must have taken a lot for you to tell me” Jessica said.

“I do not have time to be emotional. I better call my family and deliver the great news to them” Leslie.

“That is good. Bye,” Jessica said.

“Bye, talk to you later,” Leslie said before cutting off the call.

Jessica squealed and stood up from the bed. She raced out the door towards the stairs. She had no friends and she wanted to share the good news with someone at least. She was halfway down the stairs when she met Xavier.

“What are you doing here?” he questioned when he met her by the stairs. She was gripping the railings so tightly and jumping down the stairs with a huge smile across her face. He was almost tempted to smile back.

“I was looking for you,” she said in a squeal.

“I told you would take thirty minutes”

“And that you did, did you have any help from any of the staff?” she asked as she narrowed her eyes.

“Of course not, I am an independent man and I can do anything isn’t my mind too” he bragged with the tray in hand. “Where are you hurrying to?” he asked again.

“To see you and give you some good news” she replied as if it was a matter he should be aware of.

“I am here now can you go back to the room?”

“I will I will, after I tell you this,” she said in a high-pitched voice as she tried to jump up and down.

“Don’t jump what is the news?”

“Leslie is pregnant with twins”
