Accidentally Married

Emma entered the maternity center of the hospital. She wanted to go all the way and she was going to make sure of it. The hospital was not the same one she usually went to. She changed hospitals when she heard that Dawson Delgado was hospitalized there. She might have a real chance of running into Xavier there.

After a brief consultation with the doctor they set a date for the procedure and she took her leave. Since the day was just beginning she decided to wait in the lobby. She might get to see him today if she got lucky.

A few minutes after she sat down she watched as Jessica came in the hospital and walked right to the elevator. She waited for the door to open before she went in.

“Did she come alone?” she said loudly to herself. Her questions were soon answered when Xavier walked in a few minutes later. They came together? She felt her jaw tightened but she tried her best to ignore the situation.

She stood up and brushed her skirt before she patted her head down. She walked to the elevator and stood casually behind him. The door dinged open and they both got in.

“Oh, Mr. Delgado?” she says pretending to see him for the first time.

He looked at her and immediately remembered her. How could he forget after what she did to Jessica? He pressed his lips together and then gave her a brief nod. He pressed the VIP button on the elevator and stood at the far left end.

She entered inside and the door closed. “Are you not going to press the button?” he asked as she did not make a move to do so.

“You already did,” she said and he nodded.

However, he was skeptical about that because the VIP floor was only open to those who were extremely rich. The price for a room overnight ran into millions. He doubted if she knew anyone who had that kind of wealth but it was none of his business.

“How is Jessica?” she asked as she looked back at him.

He raised his eyebrow at her. Was she asking that question of a truth or was she just trying to strike up a conversation with him?

“Don’t take it the wrong way but I want to know how she is doing. What I did the last time was horrible and despicable of me. I felt it stupid after the whole situation came to an end” she went on rambling.

Xavier paid no attention to her and she was fuming inside. She had to put on this great show and he did not seem impressed at all by her. What was his deal anyway?

“I have been trying to reach her all these while but it seemed like she has blocked me even on social media too” she continued.

She looked back at him and watched as he did not attempt to show any emotions. The conversation was getting on her nerves. She would call one like a dialogue instead.

“I want to apologize to her for the other day I was really at fault,” she said as the elevator came to a stop and dinged open.

Xavier got off the elevator and put his foot between the door to stop it from closing. He started at her that she felt uncomfortable.

“If you are asking me to help you with Jessica it won’t work”

“What?”

“I was the one who asked her to block you”

“Hey papa,” Xavier said as he entered the room.

Jessica was sitting so close to his bedside and they were both giggling in happiness. He was kind of jealous at the sight of things but he also did not mind since it was Jessica.

“Took you long enough,” Dawson said as he eyed his grandson from head to toe.

“The elevator ride was slow”

He wanted to tell Jessica about who he encountered but he did not want to worry Dawson.

“So are you here to take me home?” Dawson asked happily.

“No,” Xavier said taking his position on the couch.

“What why? You promised to bring me back with you if I came. Are you going back on your word because I am a weak helpless old man?”

“First off, Papa the emotional blackmail will not work, you are not a weak helpless man. You are old yes but weak and helpless?” Xavier started.

“Xavier?” Jessica said cutting his rant off. “That’s not the point”

“Oh yes, the main point” he shifts the upper part of his body from relying too much on the couch and sits up straight.

“You can not go home. I spoke with Doctor Ross over the phone and he said the fever caused an infection in your liver and it can cause serious complications so they need you to stay here so they can observe you” Xavier explains.

“You know there is something called outpatient” Dawson started.

“No way”

“Come on Jessica help me out here,” Dawson said turning to Jessica and taking her hand.

“Not this time Dawson,” she said with a sorry expression across her face.

“Wait what is this? Jessica, are you taking Xavier’s side over mine? Are you two now in love?” he asked

“Come one Papa what are you talking about?”

“Dawson I am siding with Xavier this time because he is right and we don’t want any harm to come to you” she explained.This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.

Although she wanted to let him know that she was in love with his grandson there was no way she would do that in front of Xavier. It was a one-sided love and it would remain as such.

“But what is this great chemistry I sense?” Dawson said diverting the topic. At the moment he felt like if Xavier could end up happily with Jessica then he would also happily cheer them on from the hospital room.

“Dawson,” Jessica said in a singsong voice. “Nothing is what you think is happening” she explained.

“Why not? I support it wholeheartedly”
