How Is She?
Alexander Arlan Ainsley POV
It was already 12:20 PM. I was enjoying lunch at a restaurant not far from the office building, to save time. I was in a corner covered by a pole, so not everyone could see what I was doing.
The waiters at the restaurant seemed to have memorized my habits, so this place was always vacated, and I was grateful for not having to bother looking for a seat like everyone else. I could not eat my meal peacefully because I was reminded of Arletta. That girl was indeed extremely attractive, so my attention could be drawn to her.
"You and I were supposed to have lunch together yesterday, but you declined my invitation." I muttered and became annoyed.
I stared at the scenery outside through the glass that separated my seat from the outdoors. The sun was so strong that many people felt hot. I imagined Arletta's beautiful face.
"Is my girl on the Dumorz University? How about I show up there? No. That is not a good idea. She will get really mad, and then just leave. I do not want to be rejected by her if I get there."
I felt something vibrating and when I looked up at the table, it was my cell phone. I picked it up and saw Louis' name on the screen. Was he going to deliver some exciting news about Arletta and her family? I hoped so.
I answered the phone call from Louis, eager to hear the information that the confidant would provide.
Me: "Hello, Louis."
I ignored the half-eaten food. This was the first time I had had such special feelings for a girl that I did not want to lose Arletta!
Louis Movena: "Hello, boss. The woman from last night has been taken care of."
I had almost forgotten about the prostitute, being busy working, and remembered Arletta. It was good to hear that the damn woman is out of the way.
Me: "Great! Do not leave a trace."
As soon as possible I grinned, unable to hide my happiness. This was indeed good news that needed to be appreciated.
Louis Movena: "Yes, boss. Everything has been done. All was clear."
I smiled. It was not wrong to hire Louis as a confidant because he was reliable.
Me: "Good job! Is there any other good news?"
I hoped Louis said something about my darling. If only I were on vacation, then I could have been desperate to visit the campus or Rayner's house! Louis Movena: "Miss Arletta did not go to the college, boss."
What? What happened to my girl until she did not come to university? I hoped Arletta was healthy and safe.
Me: "Are you sure? How is she?"
I was very curious and hoped that my girl was okay. I know she had Saturdays and Sundays off. Was she going somewhere so she did not go to the college? Louis Movena: "I do not know yet, boss. I saw the car carrying Miss Arletta just come out of the mansion."

I had no appetite to continue my lunch. This could not be allowed! In that case, where would Arletta go? If only I could see what my girl was doing twenty-four hours a day, my heart would be at ease.
Me: "Follow that car, Louis. Keep your distance, because Arletta is the Princess of The Hidden Dragon. The shadow troops must be numerous and always following her."
I hate having to say the last two sentences, but unfortunately, it was the truth. My girl was the enemy's daughter, but I fell in love with her! It was tantamount to defying death.
Louis Movena: "Yes, boss. I have been following her and keeping my distance. I also saw that there were three other cars waiting at some point."
I would not be surprised if that happened. Three cars following Arletta? I was sure there must be more, but the distance was hidden from the first three cars. The Hidden Dragon Queen protected her princess from harm since my girl was the successor to her throne. How would Fiona react if she found out that I would be marrying her lovely daughter and becoming her son-in-law?
Me: "Do not let your guard down. The Hidden Dragon's shadow army is everywhere, let alone Dumorz under their rule."
I gave a warning on purpose because it was better to prevent Louis from being discovered by Fiona's men. They could kill him, and I did not want that to happen.© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
Louis Movena: "Noted, Boss. I was also using another car, so it did not attract attention."
I knew what Louis meant. The car he was using was safe-looking, so it looked like an ordinary person.
Me: "Stay careful. Do not forget to report everything you see and hear."
If Arletta and I had officially become lovers, it would have been better for us to live together, so that if anything happened, I could handle it.
Louis Movena: "Yes, boss."
I was not at ease, because I had not gotten any reassurance about my girl. Could she have gone on a date with her boyfriend instead? I did not think that was possible, because Fiona would be furious. The Queen of The Hidden Dragon put a lot of emphasis on education, even from the report sent by Louis I saw the names of the top schools where Arletta and Ben had studied. Dumorz University was also one of the best universities here, and it was very difficult to get accepted there.
Me: "Okay."
I ended the call and put the phone on the table. The atmosphere in the restaurant was crowded. Fortunately, the customers did not choose the same area as me, so all conversations on the phone remained safe.
"Arletta, where are you going? You are making me curious and worry." I muttered quietly, so as not to be heard by others.
I turned towards the table and decided to finish the food that I had ordered. My girl's face came back to mind. Was she a witch? Because I always remember her most of the time.
"I have to stay healthy, so I can be with Arletta every day. I have to find out how to be her forever man."
I continued my delayed lunch. I heard music playing in the restaurant. Was it not weird that they were playing music or was I just not paying attention? Ah, I did not give a fuck.
I had finished my meal, and when I turned to my phone, I noticed that there were several new messages on the screen. I picked it up and tapped the screen, wanting to read the messages. Boss, the car carrying Miss Arletta entered the hospital owned by The Hidden Dragon. I could not go in, because there were many of their members.
From: Louis Movena. 12:37 PM.
I frowned and reread the message. "Hospital? Is Arletta sick or is she even-"
