Chapter 56
Chapter 56
“What’s going on here? What’s all the fuss?”
Luther and Yoselyn who were entertaining guests were informed of the commotion and had quickly made their way over. Pushing through the crowd, Luther’s chest immediately tightened when he realized that Sage was involved. He only felt relieved when he had made sure that Sage was unharmed.
“Luther dear! “The woman’s face lit up when she caught sight of Luther. She hoped that he would back her up.
Luther immediately stopped her and said, “Look at this mess. You stay away from me!” Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
The woman had wom a white dress to the event. After Sage had splashed her with wine, her dress looked as if it had been stained with blood, making her look frightening.
Feeling wronged, she started whining and accusing Sage, “It’s all because of this woman. My friends and I were just talking to each other when she suddenly charged at us and threw red wine at us! Luther, Miss Yosie, how dare she causes a scene during your event?! She disrespected both of you by doing so! You should throw her out of this instance!”
Walking over, Jaçe took a napkin from the waiter and passed it to Sage. “Here, wipe your hands with this. You got red wine on you.”
Sage’s hands were stained with red wine, and Jace had handed her a napkin just as she was looking for one. Receiving the napkin from Jace, she slowly wiped her hands.
Watching the silent interaction between Jace and Sage, the crowd suddenly came to an abrupt silence for a few seconds.
Yoel who was standing at the side saw the interaction between them. Taking a sip of red wine from his glass, he smiled as he noted how both of them were extremely skilled at infuriating other people.
Both the actress and the whining socialite were rendered speechless.
*Luther dear!” The socialite started whining again.
Her whining only made Luther’s skin crawl.
After making sure that her hands were clean, Sage glanced at Luther and said, “Luther, since when did you get yourself a girlfriend? You should have told me about her. If I’d known that she was your girl, I would have gone easy on her.”
For some reason, Sage’s comment had caused Luther to feel some discomfort. Her words had sent chills down his spine.
What are you going on about? What girlfriend? I don’t even know her!”
“Oh, is that so?”
Sage scoffed and continued, “I thought you guys were close, seeing as to how she called you ‘dear’. She even threatened to kick me out of the event.”
She then turned around and said to Yoselyn, “My sincerest apologies, aunt. I didn’t mean to cause a scene this evening. I’ll take my leave now. I’ll be sure to compensate you when I visit you next time.”
Sage had no intention of staying at the event, and she was about to leave when Yoselyn stopped her.
Yoselyn kicked Luther’s shin, glared at him, and asked, “What exactly is going on?”
Feeling wronged, Luther cried out, “But I really don’t know her!”
The socialite was humiliated in front of the crowd, but she continued to throw herself at Luther, shamelessly. Annoyed, Luther had his bodyguard eject her and her friend from the venue. The fact that the girls had caused a scene and threatened Sage, infuriated *Luther.
The group of ladies who had been kicked out were confused by what had happened to them. They were baffled that they were the ones being thrown out of dinner instead of Sage.
