A Relentless Pursuit for Love

Chapter 33

Chapter 33

After signing the divorce paper, Sage had disappeared without a trace from Nadeem City. No one expected her to show herself again in this manner.

It was too… cool and entrance for her.

Yoel was stunned by Sage. He smiled, and he could not take his eyes off her.

How could a man deny a charismatic lady?

Even Jace, who had always had a poker face even when faced with the collapse of the world, found his mask slipping. Jace was surprised to find that Sage knew how to fly a helicopter.

Under the heated stare of the crowd, Sage walked toward Freya and crouched down by her side. Sage who gave off an imposing vibe suddenly softened.

“Mom, I was worried sick about you. Please don’t do this again.”

Freya who was known for being stubborn and domineering had a sudden shift in attitude the moment she saw Sage. Holding Sage’s hands in hers, she exclaimed in surprise, “Dearest, I was worried about you too! How do you know how to fly such a dangerous thing?”

“A rooftop is an unsafe place for you to be in as well, and yet, here you are, right?” Sage crinkled her nose and sulked.

Freya leaned toward Sage and whispered into her ear, “I didn’t plan to really jump. I just wanted to scare Jace. I had no other options as he is determined to marry that old witch!”

Sage simply nodded her head. She understood what Freya was trying to say.

“Let’s head down now. The wind is strong, and I don’t want you catching a cold.”

Sage covered Freya’s lap with the blanket that she had sewn personally for her mother-in-law. Wherever Freya went so did the blanket. Sage thought that Freya had cherished and appreciated her efforts far more than her heartless ex-husband.

Freya nodded her head obediently. She had turned into a tame and gentle young cub in front of her daughter-in-law.

Looking at the interaction between his mother and Sage, Jace, who was standing on the sidelines, had mixed feelings.

Ever since Sage had joined the Yuriel family, it was as if she had placed a curse over the entire household. It was a curse that compelled everyone to adore her. His own family had sided with her and that had annoyed him to no end.

Jace had thought that Sage had been purposely currying favor with his family, and he hated women like that. Hence, the more his family adored her, the more he disliked Sage.

However, Jace suddenly realized that it was not only his mother but his grandparents too had lived a fuller life than he had. Therefore, if Sage had been deliberately trying to cuiry favor with them, they would have seen through her right away.

Sienna, who was standing with the crowd, was blinded by jealousy as she watched the interaction between Sage and Freya.

She was supposed to be a daughter-in-law of the Yuriel family, and somehow, Sage and Freya had a more familial relationship than she. Besides, it was her wedding today, and it was she who was

supposed to be the main character. Who had given Sage the right to command all the attention?

“Mom!”

Crying, Sienna rushed toward Freya. “Why are you doing this? We could always talk things out, couldn’t we? Why did you have to go to such lengths? You doing this would only make Jace look like a bad son!” she exclaimed. She made sure to lace her voice with concern.

Her words had turned the already peaceful situation into an awkward one.

Sienna was crying her eyes out.

Sage and Freya tumed and looked at Sienna with looks of disdain and said in unison, “Can you please shut up?”

“And, who’s your mom? Stop talking nonsense!”

Sienna froze as she met Freya’s cold gaze. Habitually, she tumed to look at Jace for help, but Jace it seemed that Jace had no intentions of helping her. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

To her horror, she realized that Jace no longer looked at her the way he did before. The light in his eyes was gone. She was rattled to the core.
