Chapter 35: Dave’s Treacherous Encounter With The Ruthless Mafia
Dave’s triumphant words echoed through the room as he spoke with a hint of malevolence in his voice, “The job’s done. You can now come in.” With that, he hung up the phone, tossed it casually onto a nearby couch, and strolled over to a table. His fingers closed around a glass of wine, and he savored the taste while his gaze fixated on Marisa, who lay unconscious.
Suddenly, a man and a woman entered the dining room, causing Dave to shift his attention towards them. The man spoke with a smirk, “I didn’t expect you to complete the mission so quickly,” as he approached Dave.
The woman, on the other hand, noticed the ring adorning Marisa’s finger and inquired, “Did you propose to her?” Her arms were crossed over her chest, her face etched with a frown.
Dave responded with a nonchalant, “Yep,” which only deepened the woman’s displeasure. She challenged him, “So you proposed to this woman before proposing to me, your girlfriend?”
Dave chuckled as he placed the empty glass on the table, then moved closer to the woman, encircling his arms around her waist. “Babe, that proposal I made to her was nothing but fake. I just did it to toy with her feelings, nothing more.”
“But still, you shouldn’t have put that ring on her finger,” she remarked.
Dave reassured her, “Don’t worry, babe. After we finally complete this mission, I’ll get a very expensive ring for you and propose to you in a grand manner.” Slowly, the woman’s frown dissipated.
Interrupting the affectionate exchange, the man urged, “The both of you should quit your lovey-dovey, and let’s get this woman to the boss.” He effortlessly lifted Marisa and slung her over his shoulder.
“Wait, let me get my car keys,” Dave said hastily and rushed to his bedroom to retrieve them. Upon his return to the living room, he was greeted by a shocking scene.
Alejandro sat on a couch, a devilish cigarette in hand, while Dave’s colleagues; the muscular man and his girlfriend, laid sprawled unconscious on the floor. Marisa lay serenely beside on the couch beside Alejandro.
The shock on Dave’s face was palpable as he attempted to process the unexpected turn of events. He wondered how Alejandro had incapacitated his colleagues within the few minutes it took him to fetch his car keys from the bedroom.
Dave swallowed hard and reached for a concealed handgun beneath his shirt. He aimed it at Alejandro and shouted, “What the heck are you doing here? And how dare you enter my house?”
A sinister smirk danced across Alejandro’s lips as he continued to puff on his cigarette, seemingly unfazed by the gun pointed directly at him. It was as if he were utterly indifferent to the lethal threat, a nonchalance that sent waves of infuriation coursing through Dave’s veins.
“I asked you a damned question, Alejandro Gambino!” Dave’s voice quivered with anger, his fury palpable. “What in the world are you doing in my house?” His grip on the firearm was unsteady, a clear indication of the dread he felt. Dave was acutely aware of Alejandro’s reputation, a man of formidable power and ruthless determination.
Alejandro nonchalantly tossed his cigarette to the ground and ground it into the floor beneath the polished sole of his shoe. Rising to his feet, he methodically adjusted the lapels of his pristine white suit. His approach towards Dave was marked by a perilous glint in his eyes, an ominous aura that left no doubt about his intentions.
Dave’s voice quivered in fear as he stumbled backward, his warning punctuated by desperation, “Don’t you dare come any closer, or I’ll pull this trigger!”
Alejandro moved towards Dave at lightning speed. His fist shot out with brutal precision, connecting with the side of Dave’s skull and sending him crashing violently to the ground. Dave’s head pounded with searing pain as he struggled to his feet, blood seeping from his split lips. In a desperate bid for self-preservation, he snatched up his gun and fired it relentlessly at Alejandro.
But Alejandro moved with an uncanny grace, his body fluidly evading the hail of bullets. He closed the gap between them in a heartbeat, charging at Dave with unrelenting determination. In an instant, Alejandro executed an uppercut, channeling the full force of his weight beneath it, and it landed squarely under Dave’s jaw. The impact was catastrophic, and Dave felt his jawbone give way. The blow sent him soaring through the air, crashing down onto a nearby table with a cacophony of splintering wood and shattering glass. There he lay, unconscious and broken.
As if on cue, the door swung open unannounced, and Bruno entered with four men in tow.
“Boss,” Bruno acknowledged, his voice steady as he approached.NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.
Alejandro wasted no time and issued his orders, “Take Marisa to my hotel.” Bruno nodded in understanding.
Turning his gaze to the three other men who stood behind Bruno, Alejandro continued, “The four of you should transport these three to the empire.” He pointed at the unconscious figures of Dave and his two colleagues, who lay in a heap on the ground.
Following Alejandro’s commands, Bruno and four men immediately sprang into action. Bruno gently picked up Marisa, cradling her protectively as they made their way towards the exit.
The other men, well-coordinated and efficient, hoisted the unconscious bodies of Dave and his two colleagues. It was a surreal scene, with the room still bearing the marks of the recent violent clash-broken furniture, shattered glass, and an undeniable tension in the air.
As soon as everyone was in their designated positions, Bruno exchanged a silent nod with Alejandro, signifying their readiness to depart. With Marisa cradled protectively, Bruno escorted her outside to a sleek black jeep parked just beyond the threshold. The other four men followed suit, efficiently securing Dave and his colleagues within a black van positioned nearby.
With a purposeful stride, Bruno climbed into the driver’s seat of the jeep, ignited the engine, and smoothly pulled away from the scene, embarking on the journey to the hotel with Marisa in tow. In the background, Alejandro’s men occupied the van, patiently awaiting Alejandro’s exit.
Left alone within the room, Alejandro cast one final, contemplative gaze upon the remnants of the tumultuous encounter-the broken furniture, shattered glass, and lingering tension. Then, with a sense of resolution, he exited the house.
As he stepped out, one of Alejandro’s loyal men promptly swung open the rear door of an elegant Bugatti. Alejandro settled into the luxurious backseat, and with a thunderous roar of the engine, they seamlessly accelerated away, leaving the turbulent events at Dave’s house in their wake.

Dave woke up to find himself strapped to a pulley. “What is this? Where I’m I?”
Suddenly, he heard a man struggling beside him. He turned to find his girlfriend, also strapped to a pulley beside him.
She was crying and sweating, her eyes wide as she gazed down below her. Dave then slowly followed her eyes and he caught his breath sharply. They were both dangling in space over a large pond. It was the largest pond he’d ever seen. But it wasn’t the pond that cause a chill running up his spine. It was what were Inside the pond.
The pond was filled with crocodiles. Tons of them. Dave screamed as the crocodiles snapped their fangs hungrily, gazing up longingly at him.
“Finally awake?” Someone said from across the hall. Dave darted his eyes to see Alejandro and his men staring up at him gleefully.
Alejandro was smoking a cigarette and grinning at him. “So,” he took off the cigarette off his lips and blew a cloud in the air. “You’re the bastard who dared toy with my possession.”
