Chapter 17 Dirty Laundry

“How could you have known? I heard it from Kate who works at the First Planning Department. She’s

best friends with Miss Mayfair; she even said that Miss Mayfair was so troubled by the incident that her

pregnancy was almost affected by it. From what I see, Miss Mayfair is a good person for allowing a

woman like Diane to stay in the company. If it were me, I would have beaten her up a long time ago.”

Mindless slander came one after another from inside the pantry; Diane heard it all as she stood by the

door, and her blood went cold.

Did they say that she seduced Norman and tried to start an affair with him behind Stella’s back?

NG Enterprise didn’t allow romance between employees, so she’d hidden her marriage with Norman

this whole time. To prevent any unnecessary misunderstandings, she always deliberately avoided

contact with him in the company.

As such, nobody knew that she was married to Norman. Now that Stella’s belly was steadily growing

and Norman had been transferred to the headquarters, the two of them made the first move and

announced their marriage.

On the other hand, Diane had become the homewrecker between them—she was now known as the

shameless scheming vixen.

From the looks of it, these false accusations must’ve been fabricated by Stella.

Diane’s grip tightened around her mug, and she left angrily after giving the gossiping staff members a

fierce glare.

“Stella! Did you make up those lies?”

Diane stormed into Stella’s office and questioned the latter who was tidying up her desk.

“What lies? Know your place, Diane. I’m your boss now, and you’re just a regular employee. Who gave

you permission to break into my office and scream at me as you like?”

Stella was pressuring Diane with her higher-up position, but Diane didn’t care and went on fiercely,

“Norman cheated on me during our marriage and had an affair with you. Since when was I the one who

seduced him behind your back? How would Kate be able to spread the rumors if it weren’t for you?”

“Oh, so that’s what you meant.”

Stella placed a hand on her belly and sat down slowly as she eyed Diane with a mocking look in her

eyes.

“What are you yelling for? Would anyone believe you if you yell? Who do you think they’d trust—me or

you? Is there even a point for you to explain?”

She finally admitted to it—in such a shameless way no less.

Diane gritted her teeth as she glared at Stella. Meanwhile, the latter looked quite delighted by her

angered state. After a while, Diane asked again, “You were the one who changed the sign in front of

the elevators last night, right?”

After her rescue, the security guard had asked her why she wasn’t aware of the maintenance notice—it

was displayed on each floor that the elevator unit that she’d boarded wasn’t functional at the moment.

Diane gave it a thorough thought and concluded that Stella was the biggest suspect. Why would

anyone change the sign without a reason when it was obviously being placed in front of the other unit?

“I guess so—I can’t really remember.”

Stella didn’t seem to mind the fact that her dirty deed had been exposed. She brushed it off lightly with

a flip of her hair.

“It’s great that you’ve admitted to both of them, Stella. Know that you’re only where you are because of Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.

Norman’s position as the planning director of NG. You’re very proud of yourself, aren’t you? All right,

then. Trust me—I’ll have Norman kicked out of his spot in less than a month.”
