A Love Restored

A Love Restore 157

1 stay wrapped in Nicos arms, just sobbing, while he embraces me silently, his arms tight around me. I can feel his warm breath on the top of my head.

“Come inside.” He whispers. His voice is soft. It is familiar. He is my home. “I’ve got you.”

I nod, and he takes me inside, still holding me, knowing if he pulls away, I might just break.

He makes me sit down on the couch. “You’re freezing” He says, then runs and gets a soft blanket, wrapping it around me.

“You want something. Ginny? Should I make you some tea? Hot cocoa?”

I shake my head. Please just hold me.”

He does that, picking me up, and sitting down so I am on top of him, curled up into his chest. He’s wearing a crisp white shirt. He probably just got home from work. I pull away a little. I’m getting you all dirty.”

He pushes my head back into his chest. “No, Ginny.”This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.

We stay like that for a while, silent, with sounds of my sniffling, and Nico’s hand in my hair, stroking it.

“Did something happen?” He asks softly. I nod.

I wiggle out of his grasp, and he lets me go.

*I need something to drink.” I tell him, standing up to go to the kitchen.

“Stay.” He tells

and goes to the kitchen, returning with a soda and a bottle of beer. “You look like you could use some alcohol.”

I hesitate. “Um, soda is fine. Thanks”

He hands it to me and sits down beside me. “Tell me what happened.”

I shrug. I don’t know how to say it. I don’t know how to tell him he was right. Nico warned me over and over about Julian. I don’t know how to tell him my life is

ruined.

“Julian,” I cough, He proposed to Nua.”

“That fucking bastard.” Nico swore. His eyes bum in rage, the vein in his neck throbs.

“I’m going to beat the shit out of him!” He shouts, starting to put on his shoes. Nico’s movements are fast and angry. The last time he was so mad was when he found out about Julian and 1. This…seems worse.

“Nico, please.” I whisper. My throat is hoarse from all the crying.

“No, Ginny.” His voice is calm. At this moment, he looks so dangerous. He looks ready to kill. “I’m not going to let him get away with treating you this

“Come here.” I beg, Please. Listen to me.”

He stands up. “Stop fucking defending him. I’ve let him get away with too much. Stay here while I go deal with him, alright?”

He starts to take long, angry strides towards the door.

Nico!” I yell, rushing after him. I grab him by the shoulder. He turns around to look at me. The look on his face softens when he sees I’m crying again. I

don’t think I’ve

cried as much as I have since Julian came into my life ever before.

“Please.”

I grab his hand, dragging him to living room, where I sit down, and he kneels in front of me, intertwining our fingers. Nicos grip is tight. He looks down at my lip. “I cant see you in pain anymore.

I take a big breath. There’s something else, too.”

He nods, “I swear to God. Ginny, family be damned, I’m gonna fucking kill him.”

“I want you to listen to what I have to say and not act violenth, okay?

He nods, his eyes fixed on our hands, and he lays his head in my lap, breathing hard and fast. I stroke his hair lightly, trying to calm him down.

“I’m pregnant.” I say softly.

There is silence. Nico doesn’t say anything. My heart catches in my throat.

When Nico looks up at me, his eyes are glazed over. A small tear escapes his right eve. “Ginns. He whispers.

I don’t know why, but looking at Nico cry breaks something inside of me, and now I’m crying a little too. Well, not crying, I suppose. I just shed a tear.

He nodded. “I don’t know how to do this alone.”

“But you’re not alone. I’m here for you. Every step of the way. We’ll bring the kid up together. Well tell people I’m his father, God knows everyone will believe it.

I shake my head vehemently. “No, Nico, I can’t ask you to do that.”

“Look at me, Ginny” Nico says. His voice is soft but his tone is hard. “I love you.” He stresses, his gare boring into mine. I know. He does. I think I’ve always known a little, I just refused to accept it, but now, having him look at me like this, I know his love is a little different than mine. “I love you, and I’m here for you.”

“I know.” I say. “Which is why I can’t let you do this. I can’t let you ruin your life over my stupid life choices.”

“Ruin my life?” He exclaims. “It would be my absolute honor. Let me take care of you, Ginny. Atleast think about it, okay?
