A Love Reawakened The Alpha’s Regret

CHAPTER 143

Chapter 143

BOOK 2: CHAPTER 13

Harriette’s POV

“Strange things have been happening to me since I came here,”

I opened up to Ella. We were getting ready for bed two nights after I almost killed someone at the fighting ground. I haven’t gone back there. Mika had met me once after that to ask me to join them again but I told her I was still recovering and I couldn’t go for a while.

“Like what?” She asked me.

“Nightmares, voices, and…” I stopped. I was about to tell her about my feelings for Rowan whenever I was in his presence or how I felt whenever my mind went to him.

If I did that, I would be betraying my people and especially, I would be betraying Luke. I would be destroying the bond between my betrothed and

  1. me.

“And what?”

Ella asked. She was already staring at me since I’d stopped talking.

I tucked the last part of the bedsheet into the bed and laid down.

“Nothing. Just nightmares and voices,”

“I’m sure it’s nothing serious. People have nightmares,” Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

I shook my head. Not me. I didn’t usually dream of anything not to talk of nightmares until I stepped foot into this pack.

“How much longer can we stay here?” She suddenly asked.

I was falling behind in my mission. Something was drawing me back but I just can’t figure out what. My hesitation was causing more harm to Luke. The earlier I got out of here alive, the better for Luke.

I wasn’t sent here to have nightmares or hear voices. My mission was to retrieve something from Rowan.

‘One more week, Ella. Give me one more week and we’ll leave,”

I assured her. She nodded. She was already sleepy. Right beside me, she mumbled, “One more week, Harriette,”

When I turned to look at her, she was sleeping already. I was sure Ella wasn’t comfortable staying in this rogue pack anymore and so was I. Strange things were happening to me and I couldn’t take it anymore. I felt as though I was losing myself and that was the worst part of it all.

I should always have control. I should always be in control.

Control!

That was what stuck in my mind until I slipped into dreamland.

REINA!

The same voice suddenly yelled. My eyes snapped open again and I took a deep breath. I turned to my side to look at Ella but what I saw was strangely different.

I wasn’t in the room anymore. I was on the mountain where I used to sit in the evenings. It was dark outside with artificial light luminizing everywhere. I looked up to see the sky and the stars.

Where was I? I almost panicked when I suddenly realized what it was.

Shit! Shit! It was happening again. I was having a nightmare again. It had happened two times since I got to the pack and both times, I didn’t know how to get out of the dream. It was as though I was sleepwalking but actually I was in a dream.

I climbed down from the mountain and stared at the stars again. It was beautiful. I looked away and tried going back to the room but at a second thought, I decided to go around the pack.

This nightmare of mine had allowed me to come up with two escape routes from the pack. Even though it had its good side, mostly, it was scary for

  1. me.

What if something happened while I’m stuck in my dreams? I’ll die, won’t I?

Suddenly, I caught a glimpse of someone familiar. It was Ella. I saw her walking around a corner of a building. Quickly, I followed her.

She looked back at interval suspiciously but she didn’t see me.

What was going on with Ella?

Out of nowhere, she walked back into our room and locked the door.

Where was she coming from?

I pushed the thoughts to the back of my head. She probably had something important to do.

Since I knew I was not close to waking up, I walked around again. I walked close to the building called the Alpha’s building and stared at it. It was considered the most important building in this pack,

I smirked! Vanity!

Right behind the building, I saw a wolf. My eyes went wide in recognition. It was the same wolf I saw through the mirror the first night I arrived in the pack.

The red–eyed wolf. It also had red furs. My mouth gaped open in bewilderment as I stared at the wolf.

It was so beautiful to the eyes. Alrhought it was huge and looked pretty scary but so mesmerizing too.

My heart suddenly began beating rapidly and I frowned. What was what?

Before I could find an answer, the wolf shifted right in front of me. It was Rowan.

Wait! Alpha Rowan was the wolf I saw. What was…

I stopped thinking when my eyes suddenly went down his body and I stopped at the spot between his two legs.

“Shit!” I quickly looked away from him in embarrassment.

When I looked back, he had his pants on but my dirty mind couldn’t let go of what I saw.

I’d never seen anything like that before. I’d read about it in books I’d stolen but I’d never seen one before.

Whatever this gift of nightmare was came with pervertness.

Alpha Rowan was on a phone call. It sounded intense and from his conversation with the other person, I suddenly felt sad for him. He grabbed his shirt from the floor and began walking towards the building.

“That was rude,” I commented on his last statement to the person on the other end of the line.

To my greatest shock, Rowan stopped and turned as if he’d heard what I said. He kept staring at the spot where I was standing but he was only looking through me.

It was as though he felt someone was there but he didn’t see whoever it was.

He raised his hand and suddenly made contact with my neck. I felt a sharp sting but I quickly moved away so it wouldn’t happen again.

“Who are you?” He suddenly asked, a deep frown forming on his face.

Shit! Fuck! Shit! How did that happen? How did he know someone was there? No one has ever seen me.

“SHOW YOURSELF,” he growled loud and heavy.

My eyes suddenly fluttered open again and I was back to reality. My nightmare was over or so I thought.

Ella wasn’t in the room when I woke up. So, I took a quick shower and got ready for breakfast. When I looked in the mirror, I almost screamed. The sting I felt from Rowan’s touch in my nightmares had turned into a dark mark on my neck, just right below my chin.

“What is that?”

Ella pointed at the spot as soon as she saw me in the breakfast hall.

“I have no idea,” I answered her. I tried covering the mark more with Ella’s turtleneck top I was wearing.

My eyes suddenly settled on Rowan who was talking to Gideon in a corner. He turned to me almost immediately and I froze.

The exact mark that was on my neck was on his as well.
